The Slayer by Kele Moon Blog Tour

To Chuito the apartment was a self-imposed prison for a lifetime of sins. To Alaine, the girl next door, it was salivation from her overbearing, religious father.

He was a devil.
She was an angel.

Two people who should’ve never met, let alone become friends, but it’s not until they give into the dangerous passion that’s been simmering under the surface for five years that things go to hell.

On the outside, Chuito ‘The Slayer’ Garcia is on top of the world.  He’s successful. He’s wealthy. He's a champion MMA fighter surrounded by friends who support him, but they don’t know what he was before he came to Garnet.

A gangster.
A thief.
An addict.
A murderer.

Now his past is churning up demons he can’t ignore. Chuito knows he needs to go back to Miami to end it, but there's something holding him back, a single temptation he can't resist before leaving.

Alaine.

She’s the one drug he can’t give up…even if it destroys them both.

“To me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.” – Chuito Garcia

“We could figure something out.”

Chuito paused, looking at her curiously. “Like what?”

She shrugged. “I could stay with you.”

Stay with me?” he repeated slowly, his eyes wide in shock. “You’re not worried about getting your hands dirty?”

“Getting my hands dirty?” Alaine frowned in confusion. “I don’t understand.”

He leaned forward, giving her a harsh look as he studied her. “You ever been with a man, mami?”

“Been with?” she repeated, and then her eyes widened in horror. “Is that what you think I mean? You’re ill. I was going to wake you up if your nightmares got bad.”

“Carajo,” he said with a laugh as he pushed away from the table and surprised her by taking his dishes to the sink. “A virgin gringa living in the same house as me with no one else around. A smoking-hot virgin gringa. This whole fucking town is loco.”

She stared at his back, admiring the muscles under the long-sleeved shirt he was wearing. “I guess you’re not a virgin.”

He turned his head, giving her a look over his shoulder that caused a ripple of something hot and unnamable to rush through her bloodstream.

“That was a dumb question,” she whispered.

“Yup,” he agreed as he started washing the dishes. “I don’t need you to wake me up from my nightmares. That would be a very bad idea.”

I'd been looking forward to Chuito and Alaine's story since we met them in the Battered Hearts series and it was worth the wait. We spend the early parts of the book learning about Chu and Alaine's past and how they came to be so close. Also we learn why Chu won't get romantically involved with Alaine. Even though Chu is the world UFC heavyweight champion he is also a gangster and simply thinks that Alaine deserves better. But they are clearly madly in love and love will find a way.

Chu's story in the past is perfectly interwoven with the characters and events from Garnet that we already know and adore.

When we get to current day events the relationship between Chu and his best mate, Tino Moretti steals the show. Their love and loyalty to each other was wonderful and their banter was hilarious. The scene where Tino's brother Nova shows up was brilliant.

This story is gritty, romantic, sexy and action-packed. We get a fabulous conclusion and Ms. Moon leaves us dying to read the next book. I can't wait to read Tino and Nova's stories.

The Viper, the first book in this series, was a great read and Ms. Moon has another winner on her hands with The Slayer. And when I say winner – I mean World Champ, Olympic Gold.

This is ... mind-blowingly sensual, passionate, intense, and demanding of one's absolute attention. It is hot, hot, hot and yet together they are also sweet and caring. The contrast in their lives and behaviours is immense, yet their chemistry is rock solid. If you like things to be lively, MMA and mafia too, then this will fill you up with pleasure. This definitely is on my reread list, probably read straight after The Viper, to get total immersion!

A freckle faced, redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives off pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. The only rules she believes in is that, in love there are no rules and true love knows no bounds.

So obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it she’s lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who had infinite patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded. When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or her cell phone in the oven he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children who make their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts–They wouldn’t have it any other way.
