Jasper and Mason’s romance is what some would consider insta-love. For me, it was two men who were at a point in their lives where they knew what they wanted in a partner and out of a relationship, and when they saw their perfect match, they jumped in with both feet.

I thought Jasper and Mason were so brave being willing to hand over their trust to someone they’d only just met but recognised as a perfect match for them. It was a wonderful journey to see them learning more about each other, helping each other through difficulties and danger, together so they can be happy.

One Night covers some serious issues, but I found it a comforting read because of Jasper and Mason’s devotion to each other. The fact that Mason and Jasper are incredibly hot together didn’t hurt either. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and hopefully we may get to see a little more of Mason and Jasper in future books.

One Night is a very quick, insta-love story. I am all for insta-love, but this was almost too quick for me. It came across as unbelievable. Mason is working at Elite Escorts to help support his sister and her family. Most of the money he makes goes to her. Elite Escorts lists Mason as the perfect older Daddy/top, and Mason is anything but. He wants someone who will take care of and protect him. but his working career is not giving him anything he needs emotionally or sexually. When a crazed former client attacks Mason, Jasper hears Mason's pleas and is quick to render aid. Here is where I had issues, Mason and Jasper had an instant connection while Mason is laying hurt in an alley. He wanted a stranger with him at his most vulnerable moments and knew he could love him. I just couldn't connect with that. Jasper was, of course, feeling the same way and knew that Mason was the perfect bottom for him. Maybe I was reading too much into what should have been and wasn't that I couldn't stay invested in the characters. So unfortunately, this one was just not for me.

I am going to be honest here, I really struggled with this book. I didn't feel any connection with either main character. While I feel bad for the things they each went through before they met, and even the scene that had them meeting, I just couldn't connect. There were some very good bedroom scenes between Mason and Jasper but even that didn't help me connect. When I can't connect, I can't get invested. I'm sure this will be a hit with others but was a miss for me.
