Scoring With Him is the first book in the Men of Summer series. There is a prequel that doesn't need to be read, but is a bonus of Grant's backstory that I think everyone needs.

Grant is a rookie. He plans do to exactly what he's done that got him this far, keep his head down and work hard. No outside interruptions, no hook-ups, just baseball. That is, until he is placed on the team with his ultimate crush, Declan. Declan knows what it's like to work for your spot and wouldn't do anything to put his or Grant's position in jeopardy but there is something about the rookie that he can't stay away from. Grant and Declan develop a friendship with a side of flirting that neither can resist.

I loved everything about this read. I was instantly hooked on the relationship between these characters. It was emotional and the chemistry was out of the park between them!! I am dying for the next installment!!

Wow! Talk about hot! I love m/m sports romance and this one is panty melting levels of hot. Before Grant, the rookie, even shows up to spring training he already has a crush on Declan and when they meet, they hit it off. But there is no jumping straight into bed, Declan and Grant get to know each other during early morning runs and I enjoyed their growing friendship and their flirting immensely. Seeing them try to decide if they are going to act on their attraction made the anticipation grow and grow. All the time, Grant is fighting for a spot in the majors and should be focused 100% on baseball.

I don’t want to say any more about the story and give it away, but I will say it was one I couldn’t put down. I read most of it in one sitting. As the story started to come to an end, I was worried it was ending too fast and there wasn’t enough time for a good happily ever after. I didn’t realise Scoring With Him is the first in an ongoing series. That meant two things: (1) a killer cliffhanger and, (2) we get more time with Grant and Declan. Excellent – just what I wanted (well, maybe not the cliffhanger).

What a fantastic start to a new series. I adored Grant and Declan and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them all day. It is all I can do not to go back to the start of Scoring With Him and read it again straight away. I hope the author doesn’t keep us waiting too long for book two, Winning With Him.

This is the first of a duet… and be warned, there is a bit of a cliffhanger – possibly not of the type you might expect! There is also a prequel, which is a fun starting point although not essential for you to enjoy this book.

I really liked how we learn a bit about both men before they meet. We know that they do not hide their sexuality, but they do not flaunt it either. Declan, as the older, more experienced player, knows the score better and has an absolute rule not to date during the season, and more especially, never to date a teammate… so meeting rookie Grant at spring training is beyond inconvenient!

Watching them navigate their career plans and burgeoning attraction is highly enjoyable for the reader. But be ready for a surprise or two, as well as some deliciously intimate encounters.

Very much ready for the sequel now!
