Are
you ready for Kane Bellan’s story?
I have a problem.
Potential problem?
I’m not really sure. Here’s the deal.
There’s this girl—isn’t that how it always starts?—and her name is Mollie. I
like her. I mean really like her. I hope that doesn’t make me seem less manly
than my professional hockey player persona implies. But here’s the issue—she’s
my best friend. The one person I can count on for everything, who’s been there
with me for all the moments, big and small.
When Mollie shows up at my door, travel weary and scared following an incident
with an ex, my instinct to protect her goes into overdrive. It’s then that I
know she’s more than just my best friend and the skates are swept out from
under me when I find out she feels the same way.
Our transition from friends to lovers to potentially something more is
seamless, the Arizona Vengeance is back on the ice looking for a repeat
championship, and my life has never been better. Just when I think I’ve got it
all figured out, the realities of us both having careers which keep us on the
road put our blossoming relationship on ice.
It feels like the game just went into overtime and I’m on the verge of either
the biggest win or most disappointing loss of my life. And losing is never an
option.

Mollie is Kane's best friend. They've known each other for a decade and still
talk almost every day. Despite Kane moving to Arizona to play, Mollie wandering
for her job/life, they have stayed connected like best friends do.
Kane is gearing up for the new season and is surprised when Mollie shows up on
his doorstep. While he would never turn her away, he knows that something is
bothering her. He isn't going to pry but does want some answers. And while he's
at it, he'll warn off all of his teammates because he knows they are going to
want Mollie.
Mollie loves her life. She enjoys her vlogging and traveling. But when
something sours her confidence, she turns to the one person she has been able
to count on. Showing up at Kane's isn't unusual. She tries to see him as often
as she can swing it. When she knows he won't take her "stopping by"
or "getting tired" lines, she fesses up.
Kane wants to protect Mollie from her experience, but also knows just how
strong she is. While they figure out whether or not they are what they need,
they'll have some very sexy times. I loved their banter and relationship. Because
it was based on friendship first, I thought that their connection was so much
stronger.
I can't wait to see who gets the next story, as each couple has been amazing.

I've been in a reading slump this year, but there's something about a Sawyer
Bennett hockey romance that lifts my spirits. As soon as this book hit my Kindle,
I put down whatever it was I was doing and started reading.
Kane has been working hard during the entire off season, determined that the
upcoming season is going to be one of his best ever. What he doesn't expect is
for his best friend to show up about six weeks ahead of schedule, clearly
exhausted, and something on her mind.
Mollie and Kane have been friends since freshman year in college, having both
attended college on the East Coast and both being SoCal transplants. Neither of
them veered from the BFF path, except for that one time that they agreed
was not to be repeated. What they didn't tell each other was that each was a
little in love with the other.
Kane is glad that Mollie turned to him when she needed someone the most, and
he's happy to provide her with a place to heal. What he doesn't expect is for
one of his teammates to ask Mollie out. Or for Mollie to agree. Kane knows he's
irrational when it comes to Mollie, but he can't help but want to take care of
her and not let anyone else hurt her.
Mollie doesn't want her relationship with Kane to change. She doesn't want to
lose her best friend because a sexual relationship that didn't work out. Kane's
thought: What if it does work?
This book delivered in all the right places. There were appearances from
characters in prior books and a new character introduced. I can't wait for the
next book in the series.

This is the eighth book in the series – and I would definitely recommend that
you read them in order... SO much goodness! We get to meet a lot of the
previous couples in this book, so if you hate knowing pre-stories, then go back
and start at book one, if not, then jump in and realise that you will want to
go back later!
Kane is pretty new to Vengeance, but he is a good guy who is fitting in well,
and whose knowledge of just what a great team and family he has joined. Then to
add to his riches, his best friend Mollie turns up in need of his company after
a nasty fright whilst on the road in her motorhome. She has spent the years
since college travelling around the world with her dog, writing about her
adventures. Currently, though, she is very glad to be with Kane... and somehow,
their nearly perfect record of being only platonic friends suddenly takes an
unexpected turn...
As we watch the two of them try and work out just what is going on, at the same
time as enjoying catching up with the rest of the team, and a goodly amount of
hockey. Perfect mix really for this very enjoyable and fun book.
If you love books set against the backdrop of the NHL, a friends-to-lovers
story, and co-starring a lovely dog called Sampson... then this is written just
for you!

I have loved every one of this series so far and I loved Kane and Mollie. It is
not one of my favorites, I don't know what it is about it but I wasn't pulled
into their story as I was the others.
Kane is part of the Arizona Vengeance and the next on the "who is going to
fall in love" list. There is no list but with each book and each story,
another team member falls in love. Kane has been in love with his best friend
for the last ten years, but he doesn't know how to tell her how he feels
because she is living her dream.
Mollie is a world traveler, she is a travel blogger living in her van with her
dog. Enjoying life and loving it. Until her ex threatens her and she ends up on
her best friend's doorstep. It is funny when Kane tells her how he feels
because she feels the same way.
Can they catch her ex before he comes after her again? Is there a chance for
her and Kane to have a future together? Will their careers end things before
they really begin?
As I said, I loved this story, but it is not one of my favorites. You still
have Kane's teammates and some hockey games, but it seemed to have the usual
Vengeance vigor missing, for me at least. Anyway, I hope you read this one and
fall in love with Kane and Mollie.
