Forever by Kindle Alexander Blog Tour

Dr. Robert Adams grew up with more advantages than most—the son of a former vice president, he had two loving fathers, a twin sister he adores and wonderfully doting grandparents. Life is good until one afternoon when his dreams flat-line. And no scalpel can repair the guilt and grief he carries with him for the first time in his life.

For Tech Sergeant Landon Russo, determination isn’t just a word, it’s a way of life. Joining the US Air Force allows him to prove his worth, and he takes the values of integrity, service and excellence to heart in every decision he makes. Until on one fateful night, in celebration of a much-deserved promotion, a simple misstep sends his life flying into a tailspin.

As both men fight to regain control of their lives, they’ll soon discover fate rules. Will they ignore the signs and risk everything or will they take a chance and trust their destiny to be together... forever?

I am just going to put it out there that my review will not do justice to this book. I had no idea this book was coming out. When I found out, I was excited and scared. Why? Because the first book, Always, destroyed me six years ago when I read it. I mean DESTROYED me. I sobbed so hard I had to call into work because my eyes were so swollen. I pondered if I should read it again before reading Forever. I decided not to, I wasn't sure I would survive. Forever was just as amazing as Always. Robert and Landon's story was just as touching and beautiful. I found myself putting the book down because I didn't want it to end, but then picking it back up because I had to read more. I felt like I was there in the book, living things as Robert and Landon were. I loved this book and have decided I'll go back, reread Always. and then read Forever again. I'm sure I'll be thinking of Robert and Landon years later, just like I still think of Kane and Avery.

I can always count on a Kindle Alexander book to bring on all the feels. I didn’t quite cry through the whole of this book like I did with Always, but this story definitely captured my heart.

As Kane and Avery’s son, Robert has an incredible legacy to live up to. When we meet him, Robert is full of grief and self-doubt. He’s traded surgery for a low profile job on a military base and only a very special patient is able to get through to him. I really love Robert’s character. Beautiful, rich, and powerful, Robert is only likeable and relatable because we meet him when he is lost and hurting. But while Robert’s family’s power and money make sense, his career doesn’t. No one is a world renowned surgeon in their early 30s – the most specialised surgeons are finishing their training at Robert’s age. What does feel real is the weight of Robert’s identity as a doctor and the reservations he has about changing his future.

Landon is an unlikely but perfect match for Robert. He’s as determined and bloody minded as Robert and he frees Robert from some of the weight of his legacy. I love that his blue collar immigrant family is just as happy as Robert’s wealthy one and I love the pride Landon takes in his career.

I’m not a massive fan of billionaire romances so I love that this series feels grounded. The Adams family is Kennedy-like in wealth and power but Robert feels real and warm. He is a partner for Landon, not a fairy godfather and they balance each other well.

Like Always, my one frustration with this story is the way it attempts to tell a decade worth of two men’s lives in a single novel. We dip in and out of Robert and Landon’s lives at important and irregular intervals and at some point, the result is like a family Christmas letter summarising a whole year’s worth of events in a few chapters. The beautiful depth of emotion at the start of this book isn’t quite matched at the end – though there are wonderful moments woven through the story.

Oh my... Kindle Alexander is always a no questions read for me... after I have invested in a new box of tissues!

I loved, loved, loved Always, so really wondered whether Forever could possibly be as fantastic – and whilst it is different, it is still an amazing love story, with plenty of need for my box of tissues. I knew that once I started, I would be hard pressed to put it down, which is an issue when it is a lengthy read, but sometimes sleep just isn't that important. Good thing I didn't have to show my face publicly this morning!

Given his parents and upbringing, it is no surprise that Robert is the man he is, nor that he is struggling with guilt and sadness now that he is an orphan. He finds himself transferring to Germany, turning his back on his prestigious career in order to restore equilibrium to his life. His expectations are low, but he finds that one patient who will change his life forever... if he lets him in.

As we experience the highs and lows with Landon and Robert, there is so much love coming off the page, that it is very easy to be drawn right into their lives. I am not going to spoil the experience for you, but I promise it is well worth your time (and your tears!).

When I get a chance, I will most definitely be reading the two books together, because I have little doubt that the experience will be even richer when read in one go.

Forever is the second book in the Always & Forever duet. You do not need to read Always to understand Forever.

Robert Adams isn't in a good place. He just lost both of his parents, men that he adored. He's lost and just sort of going through the motions. He believes in science. That everything can be explained until things just start to happen to point him in a direction he never expected. Robert finds himself in Germany, working in a military hospital. He doesn't understand why he's there or what pushed him in that direction until he is drawn to a patient, Landon.

Landon is instantly drawn to Dr. Adams and knows exactly who he is and who is father was. When Dr. Adams starts spending time with Landon in his room and Landon knows Dr. Adams is way out of his league. But someone he just can't stop thinking about.

Robert and Landon come from different worlds, but fate brings them together over and over again until they can't deny it any longer. I did find myself skimming through some of the book. It became very monotonous at some points. I enjoyed watching their love grow but it felt overly wordy at times. It was a very sweet love story of two men brought together by fate and maybe a little bit of hope.

Bestselling author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an overactive imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen-year-old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it... It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.
