After the Syracuse
Stallions clinch the championship, Nathan Zinkan, the renowned wild man of the
AHL is arrested for a DUI. Again. When a no-nonsense judge adds a heavy dose of
community service to an already stiff sentence, Nathan has to forget a summer
of partying and slide on a pair of gardening gloves. His entire future now
rides on how well he can behave while helping elderly urban gardeners tend to
their tomatoes.
Watching local garden center owner Bran Cavanaugh working without his shirt is a benefit he wasn’t expecting. Pity Bran is also the one in charge of the community garden as well as keeping tabs on Nathan’s hours served. The two men are instantly at odds due to Nathan’s rebellious nature and Bran’s icy demeanor. Yet there’s no denying the attraction that begins to build between the hot-headed athlete and the cool as a cucumber master gardener.
Will their attraction grow into something deeper, or will it wither and die on the vine?

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series – you can read it as a standalone if you can't be patient!
I greatly enjoy Locey's books as they are often quite gritty and well grounded. This one is the best one ever; whilst it deals with some really significant issues, on both Nate and Bran's side, it was also beautifully romantic and full of lovely side stories which made it so rich and unputdownable. I started it this morning, and really couldn't stop reading it till I got to the very satisfying end.
Nathan has one heck of a complicated past; one that has layers of complexity, as we discover. He is such a darling though, surprising even himself when he gets involved in helping oldies with their gardening, and youngsters with their hockey. I loved that we could appreciate his good side long before he really understood it. A lovely mix of humour and intensity. As he gets to know Bran, and himself better, life can only become all the richer. Their relationship is a wonderful mix of honesty, friendship, and super hotness.
I really don't want to say more, because it unfolds so beautifully across the book – highly recommended.

When not writing spicy romances, she enjoys spending her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in one hand and a steamy romance novel in the other.
