The romance part of the book seemed to flow easily, but the plot point that brought the couple together seemed rather forced to me. Vanessa is basically "pushed" to do this undercover assignment by her supervisor as the unspoken threat is she won't ever be more than a patrol officer.

As she starts her undercover assignment, she's not sure if she can go through with it. She's intrigued by the notion of BDSM but she's not sure if it’s for her and whether or not she can let herself explore it during this assignment. When she sees Gerard for the first time, she can't look away. She feels herself wanting to give into this desires, but knows that the outcome of this assignment will determine the fate of her career.

Gerard knows a set up when he sees one, and it doesn't take much to see that the supposed newbie is VERY green around the gills. The woman has no idea what BDSM is all about, but there is something inside him that knows she's a true submissive.

As the case progresses, can Vanessa and Gerard put aside the criminal investigation that brought them together and explore this tangible spark between them?

I enjoyed reading this story, the author has pitched it really well. The plot is rather obvious, the undercover element rather amateur, and the submission rather naive – which somehow make it charming. It did all seem to happen very quickly, but somehow it worked. The ropes are used to great effect and the sensuality of the scenes overcome the newness of the setting for Vanessa. It was fun listening to her inner monologue which clearly identified the conflict between her job and her pleasure.

Cop + sex worker = messy
When Parker tries to arrest Slade one night on patrol, his life is changed. Something about Slade makes Parker feel something he hasn’t in a long time and he honestly thinks Slade is in a bad situation and is being exploited. I thought the story line concept was good, but things seemed too rushed and at times too perfect. I loved the chemistry between Parker and Slade/Lonnie, but at times it seemed way too fast and I am one for instant love, but this was almost pushing it for me for some reason.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second in the series – and although the leads of book one are mentioned, it is more a nod than being essential for the story. That said, I really enjoyed All Fired Up, and would recommend you read it too.

This is an unusual pairing – the patrol cop and the man forced into prostitution – but it really does work. The trafficking plot has merit and there are some clever twists, and it adds to the romance very effectively. Parker is pretty enlightened, and smitten to take on the damaged Slade/Lonnie, but the chemistry is clearly undeniable. So many issues were dealt with in a sensitive and caring way, that the feelings between the two men seem to grow very naturally. I hope that we get to see more of them in future episodes. We get a number of possible characters introduced that might feature in the limelight in subsequent installments, which was enticing.

Thank you Ms. Knight for another fascinating tale.

I don't usually read much in this book's genre, but something in the blurb caught my attention and I grabbed it up. It did take me awhile to get into, but once I did the storyline read a lot more smoothly. It surprised me by having a few shocking moments even. I don't think there was a ton of depth, but there definitely was a ton of action and things going on. It seemed to take a long time to read this and yet, there really wasn't a whole lot to take in. I will be waiting for the next book, because I do want to know what happens next. Overall, an okay young adult book.

This series is just awesome, I loved Forever Pucked just as much as the previous three books in the series! This is a quirky read and I’d definitely recommend at least reading book one, Pucked, before diving into Forever Pucked.

Alex and Violet met and fell in love in Pucked and now they’re planning their wedding… or trying to. Only problem? Violet breaks out in hives every time someone so much as mentions tying the knot. Violet and Alex want a small wedding with just their close friends and family, their mothers on the other hand want it to be huge with hundreds in attendance. In the meantime, Violet’s career is really taking off while Alex is managing to get himself into trouble on the ice and the balance that the two have managed with their respective careers is thrown for a loop and has us wondering if they're going to survive!

My favorite part of this read was the fact that we get more of not only Alex and Violet but the rest of the gang too! Plus, as usual, Helena Hunting does a fantastic job of mixing just the right amount of mystery, romance, and hilarity…with a focus on hilarity, I seriously had tears streaming down my face from laughter at several different points in this book.

This entire series is one I definitely recommend you check out!


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
I would definitely recommend that you have read the first book in the series – but really, why would you not read them all! I have to say that depending on what you have most recently read, you may need to give it a few pages to get into Ms. Hunting's style. There is no subtlety of language or conversation between these crazy friends. After a chapter or two, one becomes so engaged with the madness that it is no longer so surprising!

Violet has such a fear of spoiling her own wedding, that she really can't cope with the idea, even if being married to her fiancé, Alex, is exactly what she wants. As events on the hockey rink make her reevaluate what is important, and she talks more with her girlfriends who are also all loved up, she reconciles her desires with her fears and agrees to move forward. The scenes with the Mothers, the hairspray and…well, just so many wonderful, fun and cute dialogues, then add in some hot and cheeky sessions, and plenty of laugh out loud moments to make this a really enjoyable read.

I can tell you that Ms. Hunting delivers, and I am looking forward to seeing what she writes next.

Forever Pucked is the continuation of Violet and Alex's story. The ride to their wedding is a hilarious journey. Of course there is the inappropriateness which is expected, especially at this point in the series. There is some drama, some sexiness and it all boils down to one fun read.

I loved getting more of Violet and Alex. They are definitely one of my favorite couples. Violet's hives, and their mother's adding their two cents makes for great wedding planning issues. The biggest issue any couple has is how to bring their two lives into one without losing themselves in the process and Violet and Alex are no different. Alex wants to take care of Vi but he knows Vi's job is one of the top priorities in her life.

This series was one of my favorites. The sexual innuendos are laugh out loud funny. It's sweet and just a fun series to read. Hunting doesn't disappoint in Forever Pucked. Highly recommended series if you enjoy laughing your way through a read!

I just love Quick. I am so happy he finally found his special someone. Cayson is just adorable even if he has some issues with his past boyfriends that have given him a complex. I thought some of the “action” was a little over the top when it came to Cayson’s ex and what happens to some of Quick’s team, I thought it was a little too much but whatever. I love all the guys that work with Quick. I really would like to see books on some of the other characters, like Brian or Ford. I love how we got to see Vaughan and Duke, I cracked up every time Quick got bothered by their mushiness. I was excited to see God and Day in this book, but they seemed like totally different people from their series, they were total jerks and that wasn’t really how they were in their series, so I was put off by that a little.

While sitting at the bar waiting for Kylee to wear herself out and want to go back to the hotel, Myka talks to the bartender and looks at her book. Which is a steamy novel about BDSM and she finds it intriguing and very interesting. When the handsome stranger from the street sits beside her, she is a little shocked and seems to be drawn to him and he seems to be drawn to her too. Turns out he is in the lifestyle and she wants to learn from him. He is all too glad to teach her all about the BDSM lifestyle, but he is not looking for a relationship, just the sex. Can Myka spend this time with Gabriel and not lose her heart? Will Gabriel push her away if she gets too close? And what is happening with his ex-girlfriend?

This is a good story that will keep you reading just to see what happens next. This story doesn't go into the whole BDSM life, a spanking most of the time, tying up, a few toys, and a couple trips to a club or two. It has a little fun, heartache, pain, lost love, and just maybe a happily ever after for both Myka and Gabriel. This is a first for me from Alexis Alvarez and I am looking forward to reading more from her.

Alexis Alvarez writes romances – some are light-hearted contemporary romances; others delve into the exotic world of domination and submission.

Her female heroines are strong-willed women who are never push-overs, and who can hold their own in society and the workplace, but who are intrigued with the idea of kink and submission in the bedroom. Alexis writes with skill and poetry, creating worlds that are both dark and erotic and, at times, humorous and light.

Alexis is a writer, photographer, gourmet cook, former engineer, and mom. She likes other things besides BDSM fiction, and some of them include snorkeling, lemon bars, thunderstorms, and laughing so hard with her sisters and brother that her stomach hurts.

To me, this story is a modern day twist on a classic fairy tale that gave me a wonderful afternoon of reading.

Beth is trying something new, venturing out into the unknown, and is doing it with help from her friends, who purchased her a six-month membership at a local BDSM club. Intrigued, Beth enrolled in a Newbie class and discovered that she was submissive. Part of the class includes interacting with a Dom and she chose Master C.

Master C is really Chris – a CPA who enjoys scening at the club and helping newbies learn about the lifestyle. It’s beginning to grow old though, watching everyone have fulfilling relationships while he seems to standing still or taking care of his dysfunctional family.

Their one scene ends abruptly, sending both Beth and Chris in different directions. When life calms down, Chris must make a choice: settle for less or hunt for the temptress of his dreams.
