All Fired Up by Morticia Knight

Shawn can’t decide whether he wants to punch or kiss Trent. Kissing wins.

The party never ends in Las Vegas, but neither does the danger. Shawn is the new foot patrol officer on the Strip and he’s ready to take on the town and keep the peace. Once he spots Trent, who is a hunky firefighter at Station 32, Shawn wonders whether he can take him on too.

Trent is dedicated to his job, built tough and is a no-nonsense man of few words. At a local blood drive, Trent eyes a handsome new officer but doesn’t dare get too close. After his boyfriend’s life was snatched away in the line of fire, he couldn’t bear the agony of such a loss again.

Trent’s over-protective instincts kick in during an emergency call and he embarrasses and angers Shawn in front of their fellow officers. Too late, he realizes he’s falling for the sexy man. But has he already destroyed any chance they might have at something more?

Once they spend time together away from the stresses of their jobs, they find they’re not just compatible – they’re combustible. However, right as their relationship deepens, the threat of terror escalates on the Strip. The underground vigilante group, the Citizens Against Immorality, have raised the stakes. Will Shawn and Trent be their next targets?

Publisher Note: This book has been revised and expanded from the original edition that was published under the same title at Totally Bound Publishing in September of 2014.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and the use of sex toys. It is best read in sequence as part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Shawn is new to the Vegas strip beat. While he is excited to be with a partner who gets him, he is also not quite sure about his new crush, Trent.

Trent is a firefighter who loves his job and can't help but have a protective streak a mile wide inside of him. He isn't expecting to find someone he's interested in, but when he sees Shawn, he can't help but be attracted.

When Shawn finds himself in some tricky spots, despite being qualified and capable of getting out of them, Trent comes riding in and rescues him. With Shawn questioning whether or not his coworkers can take him seriously while he’s constantly battling being rescued, he will have to decide whether or not he should pursue a relationship with Trent, or let his crush go.

Trent is struggling with how to be in a relationship. He knows that Shawn is more than capable of handling himself, but when he sees Shawn in trouble, Trent can't help but jump to his rescue. And with the fires around Vegas heating up, Trent has to figure out who is setting them and why.

This story is a slow burn relationship that has aspects of poor communication, strange expectations, and protective streaks in both alpha males. However, they work. They complement each other and have a chemistry between them that is relatable and real. I really enjoyed watching them figure out how to make a relationship work. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Veronica☆☆☆
I couldn’t resist the lure of a romance between a cop and a firefighter. Shawn is a beat cop and sees all sorts of crazy things working the Vegas strip. The action from Shawn and Trent’s dangerous jobs combine with their romance and relationship drama to make a good story.

Trent is overprotective of Shawn which doesn’t go over well when they both attend the same emergency and Trent oversteps his bounds and causes problems. While overprotectiveness doesn’t work in public, in private, Trent fusses over Shawn in a way that is sweet and bossy at the same time.

All Fired Up is a story where the couple goes from attracted and hot for each other to deep feelings in a flash. It didn’t bother me. This isn’t a story that takes time to develop the characters and plot. It is fast moving and for me it was a quick and entertaining read on a cold rainy Saturday.

M/M Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys hot stories of men loving men forever after. They can be men in uniform, doms and subs, rock stars or bikers – but they're all searching for the one (or two!) who was meant only for them.

When not indulging in her passion for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She is currently working on more installments of Sin City Uniforms, The Hampton Road Club, as well as the follow-up to Bryan and Aubrey's story from Rockin' the Alternative and Dylan and Zero from Biking Bad.

Strip Search by Morticia Knight

A sexy stripper attempts to escape his dangerously obsessed boss while searching for his missing younger brother.

Stripping used to be fun, lucrative and a place for Dakota to practice for his professional dancing career. But the owner of Glitter Boys wants Dakota for himself and will stop at nothing to possess him. When his thirteen-year-old brother runs away from home to escape their abusive father, Dakota is determined to find him before something awful happens to him on the streets.

Patrol officer Reed hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, but when he’s called to an assault in progress at the LGBTQ teen shelter, a young man approaches him, begging for help in finding his missing brother. An instant spark occurs, but he pushes it away. When the same man is attacked outside a strip club later that night, he discovers the desire is mutual.

As the two men learn more about each other and become closer, the specter of his obsessed ex-boss remains. In addition to that, Dakota has to fight the system to gain guardianship of his brother and keep him out of foster care. Dakota doesn’t know if the hunky cop he’s fallen so hard for can handle a relationship with an ex-stripper struggling to raise a teenager. But, will Reed be able to give up dating women for good and dedicate himself to their new family?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of sexual intimidation, scenes of mild physical assault and threats of sexual violence.

Publisher's Note: This book can be read as part of a series or as a standalone novel.

I am all for insta-love, but this one wasn’t hitting all my buttons, so it was just okay for me. There was so much angst with Dakota’s ex-boss that I think that seemed to be the focus when I wanted more Reed and Dakota. I liked how Dakota knew what he wanted with Reed and went after it. I also wanted more about Dakota and his brother, we got some of that in the epilogue but I wanted more in the book, and I wanted to see Dakota and Reed’s daughter interact, which we don’t see until the epilogue either. It was an okay book and if you have read the entire series, I am sure you will want to read it, it just wasn’t one of the better ones in the series in my opinion.

Characters: Well written and easy to relate to
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: M/M/Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

I am loving this series – and this one is another winner. As the net widens in Ms. Knight's series, we get glimpses of previous couples as their lives intersect with the new leads.

Here another police officer, Reed, who was married for many years and has a teenage daughter, finds a man that pushes all his buttons. Embarking on this new relationship, in spite of many issues is a journey of faith, but plays out beautifully for them both. There are inequalities in the relationship, yet Ms. Knight has balanced them very carefully, and gives us a story which is moving, touching, and incredibly hot. As I have read the rest of the series, I did trust that I knew the people would come to help, that it had to play out right, and that I would get my desired ending. I was not disappointed.

If you have not read this series yet, then why not? I do recommend that you start at book one – but if this appeals to you, then read it first and go back and find out about the other characters who pop up here too.

Searching for Shelter by Morticia Knight

Teen shelter volunteer Rich searches for love until Diego, from LVMPD Search and Rescue, finds him.

After declaring his love life officially dead, Rich wonders if maybe he should stick with his shifter book boyfriends instead. It’s not as if he has much free time to date anyway. Between working long hours at a coffee shop, guarding his sodas from his hygienically challenged roommates, and running the programming at the Vegas LGBTQ teen shelter he founded—how could there ever be space for love in his life?

Diego Espinoza enjoys taking his downtime from working Search and Rescue at the Lucky Cup coffee shop. He can set up his laptop, peruse good sport climbing spots and observe the blond barista he’s been pining over for a while. He imagines that the pretty boy has more offers than he knows what to do with, so it takes Diego time to work up the nerve to approach him.

Rich isn’t so sure about the rough-looking Diego—even if he’s always thought he was hot—but once he decides to gives Diego a chance, there’s an immediate heat and connection that takes him by surprise. As they learn more about each other and try to find the way to a future together, strange and scary things start to happen.

It isn’t until Rich is injured in a bizarre accident that it becomes clear that there’s someone out there who not only doesn’t want Rich to find love—they want him dead.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of light bondage.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the sixth in the series and although each one deals with a new couple, there is continuity, so best read in order.

We now learn of Rich's story – he set up the original LGBT shelter, and even though he has very little, he is generous with his time and support. He is, however, lonely, and Internet dating is not working for him. He is also in the worst house share I think I have ever read about (or had friends recount!) – for which he deserves our sympathy!

But his luck is on the turn, and as it opens up a world of new possibilities, he also seems to be in danger. I liked that his new man is so appreciative of him and, though not in the police, he is a first responder. Diego is a persistent man, and a very, very sensual one, especially when with Rich.

As the romance develops, so do their lives, their friendships, and their priorities. Giving us a story to savour and enjoy, and plenty of scenes with old friends, which add to the story, and give one hope for the success of romance.

Held Hostage by Morticia Knight

SWAT officer Cole can handle just about anything, until he rescues Brett—a man who makes him question all he’s ever believed about love.

As a member of the Las Vegas Police Department’s SWAT team, Cole has seen his fair share of danger, but he’s never taken a chance on love. He’s willing to have some fun when the mood strikes him, but he’s married to the job. Called in on a hostage situation, Cole is prepared for anything and everything… Except for the brave and beautiful Brett.

Brett has been burned before, most recently by Officer Parker McLean. He’s hoping to settle down in Vegas, perhaps find someone he can build a life with. The last thing Brett’s looking for is another man in uniform, but when he meets Cole, there’s an attraction that can’t be denied. He doesn’t expect to fall for the chiseled alpha, though.

What begins as nothing more than two people experiencing a great night together spirals into something far deeper. But will Brett be able to handle the stress that comes with having a lover who constantly puts his life in jeopardy? And can Cole risk his heart on an everyday hero, or will the job he knows so well remain his top priority?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of mild BDSM.

Angie☆☆☆☆
I really liked this book. I felt so bad for Brett in the previous book, but as we know he ended up friends with his ex, Parker, and moved to Vegas anyways. Cole doesn’t want to have a relationship until after he retires, he doesn’t want to have to have his partner worry about if he will be coming home or not. When these two see each other in a bar, they are both instantly attracted to each other, but nothing happens. The next time they meet is when Brett is in a hostage situation and Cole is there with his SWAT team. I loved the chemistry between these two. I liked how we knew how each of them felt and you could feel those same emotions. I also enjoyed seeing characters from previous books. I look forward to the next book.

The fourth book in the series, I am now up to speed with this group of gorgeous guys and their ways. Really enjoying them all, thank you Ms. Knight.

We first met Brett when his heart was broken unwittingly by Parker, but he moved to Las Vegas anyway, and they have developed a friendship which he values. When a crazy guy swings a gun around in Brett's store, things go wild, and SWAT member, Cole, finds more than he bargained for at the takedown. These two guys then wrestle with their demons – Brett not wanting to have his heart broken again, and Cole deciding whether he can give up his no relationships rules for this amazing man. I love the chemistry that they have together and the contrast of the big burly cop who has no issue with being out, as he is probably too big to be challenged, and the suave, blond and beautiful Brett.

Well written, a hint of kink, and a lot of passion. Can't wait to see who falls next!

Justice Prevails by Morticia Knight

Never judge a sexy man by his cover.

Detective Beau Williams is hardworking, dedicated and professional. He enjoys the finer things in life, but with his heavy caseload that includes what Beau suspects is a new serial killer, he has no time to enjoy much of anything. What the tall redhead needs is someone to shake him up a little.

Investigative Technician Austin Kent never met a snarky joke he didn’t like—or a set of stairs that couldn’t trip him up. One night after a devastating episode at work, Austin sees something else he likes—the handsome detective he’s seen around the station whom he’s always wondered about. But after he makes a drunken fool of himself in front of Detective Williams, he’s sure there’s no hope.

Beau and Austin’s worlds collide when Austin is sent to pick up some evidence at the station. Amidst a myriad of twists and turns in the troubling serial killer-style murders of Vegas conventioneers, Austin and Beau discover that there’s more to the other than they’d originally thought. There might even be more they’d like to give—unless the killer has the final say.

Angie☆☆☆
This book was kind of slow for me in some aspects. However, what blew me away the most was how one minute, Beau didn’t like Austin and wanted nothing to do with him and then BAM, he wanted Austin and wanted to give him a chance and have a relationship. Even Austin didn’t know what the heck to think. I never understood why Austin was so shy and timid at times and always down on himself, maybe it was explained at one point but I skimmed over it because like I said, the book was slow for me at times. I did enjoy seeing Parker and Lonnie from the previous book. I loved Austin and just wanted to hug him, poor klutz. Overall, this book was just ok for me.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
The third in a great series, this story did not disappoint. Each book concentrates on a different couple, and after the last one, it was no surprise that Beau was the lead character. How he meets Austin, and the thoughts that go through each of their heads, are a little different, and keep the story very fresh and entertaining. There is no danger of experiencing a repeat storyline here. No, the plot is intriguing, the solution unexpected and the outcome delicious. Beau has some definitely dominant traits, but nothing more than a touch. Austin responds beautifully and their discussion about – mid-action – is priceless. I love how well they are sketched for us, so that we can really see how they would work together, and how hot their play can be.

Very good addition to the series – they keep getting better.
