Years
ago, he hopped on a bus to pursue his dreams in the music business.
But that meant leaving behind the girl who could never really be his.
Mick Tyler is insanely successful and has achieved everything he ever wanted,
but he’s never been more miserable. Feeling a little disenchanted and
introspective, he can’t help but let his mind wander through all of life’s
“what if” moments. The biggest what if? What if I hadn’t walked away from the
girl of my dreams—the one who had dreams of her own. And now that he’s thought
about her once, he can’t stop wondering.
Sienna Ashley is desperate for a little excitement. As thrilling and satisfying
as her pursuit of scientific research has been for her intellect, it’s left her
heart feeling a little neglected. For years she dreamed of finding someone who
not only understood her brains but accepted her and all her quirks. Once upon a
time she thought she’d found that someone, but it’s been years since he walked
out of her life.
Past and present collide when Mick and Sienna unexpectedly come face to face.
Together, they decide to see what could have happened had they chosen a
different path all those years ago. But they’ve given themselves a deadline. Two
weeks. Two glorious weeks to either work each other out of their systems, or to
embark on the love of a lifetime.

Mick has lived his dream. He made it. Despite his upbringing and where he came
from, he was able to move to L.A., and now he has houses all over the place, is
a household name, and people want him to represent them.
Sienna is incredibly accomplished for being so young. Having skipped some
grades and graduated college super early, being a scientist is what she has
accomplished and she's very good at her job. After a conference, she meets up
with her brother before heading out on a two-week vacation. Sienna is a planner
and she's going to try and take this vacation one day at a time – no plans.
Mick runs into Sienna after years and years. He's just as attracted to her,
still loves her, and is in a place where he knows exactly what he wants. Sienna
is just as attracted to Mick, but she's not sure about her future.
With a sick friend back home who encourages Sienna to live and not let life
pass her by, Sienna and Mick will take the two weeks and reconnect, explore,
live, and love.
These two have a sweetheart love. It's a young love that never truly had a
chance to blossom. Watching these two navigate their professional worlds and
their personal worlds was a joy. You'll be cheering them on and I can't wait to
see what happens with these characters.

This is the fourth book in the series, and whilst the others deal with the
romances of the band members, this is Mick's story, the man who made them
famous. He has realised that he is, in fact, lonely – not helped by
Shaughnessy's band members all being happily settled down.
Over twenty years ago, Mick left home and crossed the country to L.A. to follow
his ambition to be in the music business. The only thing he regretted leaving
behind was Sienna, the super bright 16-year-old sister of his best friend. He
has never forgotten her, but it was better that she got on with her life rather
than follow him in his quest for success.
Sienna went onto college and is now a leading researcher and lecturer in her
field. She is in New York at a conference when her brother persuades her out to
dinner... where, by pure chance, Mick is also eating. This could have been very
awkward, but actually both successful articulate people in their thirties and forties,
they hit it off and catch up late into the night. 😎 This maturity in their
behaviour is a really enjoyable side of this book. Their careers have led them
in very different directions, but they are respectful and agree to suspend
reality for a fortnight and enjoy just time together. I loved how the band got
involved, as well as Sienna's big brother, and the very precious Eleanor.
There are so many lovely and poignant elements to this story, and I think they
are best enjoyed fresh, so let me just assure you that there is a lot to
commend this second-chance romance.
