As with this series and this author, I knew going in that this story would make me cry. It is what the author does to you with her stories. What I didn't know was how much this story would tear my heart out.

Holden is the kind of guy that tried marriage and it didn't work; now he says never again, and he wants no kids, and his life is great. I firmly believe in the saying "Never say never," because life will bite you in the butt every time. Sophie is the one who made him feel alive, if only for a short time in Vegas, and he can't be sure if she is real or not. It was a drunken weekend with the guys after all.

Sophie and her daughter are on the run, but she doesn't know from who. Her late husband has set all this up and she ends up in Rose Canyon, facing the one guy she never (see there is that word again) thought she would see again. And all Holden can look at is Eden, his daughter.

The fear of running from something and not knowing what it is can drive you crazy, but Sophie has Holden, Emmett, Spencer, Blakely, Brielle, and the guys Theo has watching over her. Can they be enough to keep them safe?

This story is heartbreakingly good. It will rip your heart out and shred it to pieces, but the author has the perfect glue to put it back together and start it beating again. I have loved this series, but I do believe that this book is my favorite, if that is possible. I cannot wait for more.

This is the third book in the series, but I think you could read it as a standalone. While you might not know all of the characters who are coming back from the previous books, you'd still understand what's going on and who's important.

What would you do if you were told to run, but didn't know from whom or why? With a daughter in tow, Sophie has to navigate getting a whole new existence and help from people she might not know, but her husband trusted.

While Holden and Sophie try to figure out why she was sent to him, his friends are also watching out for them. Someone is out to get someone and if they can't solve the mystery soon, the case that's been holding them all hostage will explode in a bad way.

This is a story about love, forgiveness, and trust. Michaels is able to show you how Sophie and Holden learn to trust each other, their friends, and their hearts. You will cheer them on while they navigate their new normal.
