Drake
McGinn turned his back on hockey after the league betrayed him. Will the Titans
be his chance to clear his name and take back the career he once loved?
After I made the decision to divorce, my ex-wife set out on a smear campaign
against me, telling anyone who would listen that I was betting on hockey and
throwing games. It wasn’t surprising that my ex told the lies, but the fact
that the media, league, and fans chose to believe her baseless claims was
unforgivable. I walked away from it all and never looked back.
Having settled into life as a single dad to three boys, I’m content. I have
more money than I could ever need, and plenty of time to do whatever I want,
whenever I want, and whoever I want. So when Brienne Norcross, the team owner
for the Pittsburgh Titans, shows up at my house with a job offer, I have no
problem turning her down. But the no-nonsense billionaire, with sinfully
seductive red lips and killer heels that would look hot as hell thrown over my
shoulders, won’t take “no” for an answer.
Now I need to find balance between hockey, my boys, and the explosive chemistry
Brienne and I can no longer deny. A cast-off hockey player and the league’s
only female team owner? I can think of a million reasons why it could never
work but can’t bring myself to care about a single one of them. Game on.

I have waited for Brienne's story, and I think that Drake and his boys are the
perfect family for her.
Drake and his boys have been through it; him dealing with an ex-wife who wanted
to destroy his hockey career and take his boys away, and it turns out she was a
drug head. When the owner of the Pittsburgh Titans shows up on his doorstep to
offer him a position on the team, he can't forget their last meeting, it wasn't
pretty.
After thinking about it and realizing it would be best for him and his boys,
Drake moves them to Pittsburgh and things are going well.
But he can't deny the chemistry flying between him and Brienne. Does he approach
her, and if people find out, he is in the news with another scandal? Will the
sizzle between them burn out after they spend time together or will it keep
growing?
I thought Tilly and Coen (from the last book) were my favorite couple, but
Drake and Brienne have moved to the top. This book is so much fun and filled
with pain from Drake's past. And the love of friends and family to help him
move on. I love this series and can't wait for more.

This is the fifth book in the series – and I thought Coen's book was going to
be the best but now I think this is vying for my favourite of the series.
Brienne Norcross picked up running the Titans after the plane crash which
killed not only all the team, but her brother who was its CEO. She has not had
time to grieve his loss, as she has been restoring the team and also running
the Norcross businesses. Having a relationship has not been an option either,
so when she and Drake recognise the chemistry between them, it is easy to
ignore it... or is it?
Drake finally agrees to come and play for the Titans after his choices are
severely limited due to the lies of his drug addicted ex-wife. He has to
relocate his sons and his sister, who helps him care for them. He really
doesn't want to ever get involved with a woman again – his boys are enough. So
Brienne is unexpected and increasingly important to him.
I loved that Brienne got to have some good for herself after being pretty
selfless at getting the Titans back on the ice. And as we learn of Drake's
values and care for his boys, as well as his dedication on the ice, he too
deserves all the good things.
Lovely happy read, thank you!

I have been waiting for this book since Baden's book. Drake always intrigued me
with his "I don't need this" attitude.
My heart broke for Brienne, who had no choice but to fulfill her family
obligations and carry on her brother's legacy with the Titans.
When Drake walked away from his hockey career, he did so with a chip on his
shoulder and a sour attitude. Feeling as though hockey had turned its back on
him, he has no plans to ever play again. He knows that being a full-time dad is
the best thing for his family.
Now the Titans have come calling once again and Drake is interested, not only
in the possibility of playing again, but Brienne as well.
Brienne is interested in Drake too. She just doesn't know how she can manage a
relationship. So when they start hooking up on the down low, it works for both
of them, until it doesn't.
There's nothing I love more than a hot hockey romance and I have followed
Sawyer Brown through her books with the Cold Fury, the Vengeance, and to the Titans.
I can't wait for the next book in this series. Once you're hooked, you’re
hooked.

M/F Romance
Drake has been burned by the league before and he is not about to open himself
up to being burned again. After numerous attempts to lure him back to the
league, Drake is a bit annoyed. His boys are his life, and he doesn't want
anything to interrupt their lives. But when Brienne comes knocking herself, he
has to respect that. Drake misses the game. Can he figure out how to be the
player he was and still be the amazing dad he is?
Brienne is known for getting results. She is great at her job, but juggling her
corporation and leading the family business is tiring. Brienne knows that she
could have a winning season again but finding that unicorn in the field is
proving difficult to land. She knows Drake needs a place and she's willing to
give it to him. Even with the giant chip on his shoulder, Brienne sees Drake.
These two will have to navigate their chemistry, feelings, the league, and
family. It's a fantastic story with trust and love at the forefront. These two
will need to lean on those around them to sort their feelings and weather the
storms.
