This is the first in a trilogy – and if you don't like cliffhangers, then be warned, you will be left on one... That said, as you may guess if you see the names Jane and Mr. Rochester, this is loosely based on Jane Eyre, so you can believe that things will work out in the end, and so live with the cliffhanger, but I really want to know what is in the attic! I studied Jane Eyre at school, so am very familiar with the basics, and loved how Skye Warren used the scaffolding, but gave us a fun modern day story.

We get a good sense of Jane's character, and her behaviour with Paige reinforces the knowledge of her past hurts and empathy with the young orphan. Her crush on the much older and worldly-wise Beau is allowed to flourish and her not unexpected submissive nature gives rise to some sensual encounters.

There are some fabulous little touches which just jump off the page, they are so beautifully described. It is an easy read, and I would definitely recommend it to you – and, like me, be ready to pick up the next installment as soon as it is released!

I don't read m/f books much anymore and I've never read the book this story is a retelling of. However, I enjoyed this book. It was steamy and I loved Beau, who wouldn't? I honestly forgot this was part of a trilogy, so when it ended, I screamed, "NOOOOOO!" I can't wait for the next book!
