Mary – ☆☆☆☆☆

This is a quickie for when you don't have a lot of time but want something juicy to read. What young girl hasn't dreamed about finding her Prince Charming? Well, Sophie found hers, but he was her best friend's father. So she can dream, but that is all it will be.

Now that Sophie has grown up and about to start college, she runs into Matt, her childhood friend's father. The feelings come back for her and, to her surprise, Matt feels the same way. These two are the sweetest and most perfect couple.

Can they make a future together? Will their families be alright with it? Will their age differences be a problem for them?

I love this series of novellas, each can be read separately. Each is a different couple and worth reading. Author Aleatha Romig has a way of pulling you into a story and making you feel as if you belong there and keep you there until the end, no matter how long the story is. Enjoy this novella, I sure did. Have you been Aleatha'd yet? You should!!!


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the fourth in the series, but is definitely a strong stand-alone story. Be very clear that this is indeed pure indulgence – well, not so pure, but certainly hot, steamy, and intense. Iced drink to hand and a fan, highly recommended.

Sophie is working hard to cover her college costs, and finds herself working late on a job that her boss admits she was specifically requested to work. As she goes to see whether the Mr. Hamilton could possibly be the dad of her best friend from kindergarten, she finds that sometimes all your fantasies do come true... even writing this review is reminding me just how true!

Complete escapism, and sometimes just exactly what you need – ideally somewhere cool and private.

Sophie has always noticed her best friend's dad. Matt was everything she knew she wanted in a man. But because she was his daughter's best friend, she never thought she stood a chance of him seeing her as a woman. When she's working an event, just before beginning college, she can't help but feel a little more grown up, more accomplished. She knows that she loves event planning and while she still needs her education, she is enjoying helping out with the company that she's at.

Matt has never allowed himself to see his daughter's best friend as anything other than a little girl. But after his divorce and having been successful in his business, when he sees little Sophie again, he can't help but feel something more towards her, to want her as a woman instead of see her as a child. Can he convince her that he's worth the risk?

This is a short, insta-love connection. And while it's not usually my choice, I didn't dislike the story as much as I thought I would. While I found the connection somewhat tenuous and the story rushed, but it wasn't unpleasant.
