Fractured Hearts by L.M. Dalgleish

A rock star who thinks he has everything he wants. A photographer too heartbroken to see he might be exactly what she needs.

Lexie Daniels lost her husband in a tragic accident three years ago and has been living with a broken heart ever since. To distract herself from the pain, she's thrown herself into her work as a freelance photographer. While part of her still hopes to be able to share a future with someone, she hasn’t been able to bring herself to move on.

Torn between the fear of never finding love again—and guilt that she might—what happens when she ends up meeting a man who awakens her body but doesn’t want her heart?

Connor Byrne doesn’t ‘do’ relationships, let alone love. After all, he learned early on that love only leads to pain and betrayal. And why the hell would he put himself through that when he’s the lead singer of one of the world’s hottest rock bands?

Being able to play music with his three best friends, having the adoration of millions of fans, and indulging in the willing women that fling themselves at his feet is everything he’s ever wanted… isn’t it?

When Lexie and Connor are thrown together on a tour bus for three months, they’re shocked by the attraction that flares to life between them. With both of them struggling to deal with their unexpected—and unwanted—emotions, will they let the connection between them become something more, or are some hearts simply too broken to repair?

Fractured Hearts can be read as a standalone romance. It's a steamy, slow-burn love story with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

M/F Romance

Lexie is a photographer who is living each day to the best of her ability. After losing her husband in a tragic car accident, Lexie had to learn how to breath, survive, and live again. When she's contacted to photograph a popular rock band, she isn't sure she's the right person for the job. She isn't used to that type of photography. However, she knows that she should take it – should live that.

Connor has everything he's ever wanted. He's successful, gets to sing with his friends, and is adored by women everywhere. But he's also feeling like something is missing. While he knows that he doesn't feel the same as he used to about his career, he also knows that he doesn't want to let any of his friends down. When he asks to have creative license on a new book coming out about the band and sees Lexie's photos, he knows that she is the one for the project. Actually, meeting her seals the deal.

Lexie is amazing at connecting with people. I loved her character so much. She was able to draw out the bandmates' individual aspects with an artist’s viewpoint and a friendly spin. Watching her take what Connor dished out was hard. I wanted to shake them both at times, but mostly him. It was difficult to see him lash out and for her to just take it. While she was a strong woman, she was also meek in a way that I found a little annoying.

Overall, I loved this book and hope that the other band members get their chance too.

L.M. Dalgleish is a life-long book lover who, as a child, used to shut herself in her bedroom with a good book and a packed lunch so she could spend all day reading. Her passion for romance novels began in the long sleepless nights following the birth of her first baby. Two more babies later and she's still in love with strong, sassy heroines and sexy, but emotionally unavailable (at least to begin with) heroes.

She lives in Canberra, Australia, with her husband, three kids, and a very large, very fluffy dog. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging with her family, reading, eating too much pasta, and watching horror movies.
