Someone needs to pinch web designer/humor blogger/Pittsburgh Ravens mega fan Mike Kneller. Hard. For years, Mike has been living his life for his younger sister Kelly and his four-year-old nephew Liam. He’d opened up his home to Kelly when she found herself pregnant at sixteen and facing having a baby alone. Sure, his days are filled with skinned knees, snotty noses, and the occasional mishap with stuffed superheroes, but he’s perfectly happy because he loves Liam as much as he loves his baby sister. This is just a fun book from the very first page. It is positive, life affirming, and hugely entertaining. I pretty much read it straight through, because it was just too good to put down.
Mike is a really good guy, and definitely deserves a fairy tale romance – little did he ever imagine he would get one, but thanks to his blog and videos of life with his nephew, Liam, he gets to meet his hockey crush, Bryn. As the unexpected happens in his love life, we also get to enjoy more of Liam's crazy acts as he also gets to know his hero, Bryn. Kelly, Mike's sister, may be a young single mum, but she is the sensible one in the household and she is more than happy that Mike is finally getting his chance at love. I really loved her attitude, and her desire to give him his freedom, even though he was so integral to her and Liam's everyday life. She could so easily have been selfish, but instead was supportive and positive. I also enjoyed Bryn's take on possible fatherhood as he first met Liam, and then after a few 'adventures' – classic and hilarious, but also wonderfully honest.
I loved all of it, fun, easy, and light-hearted, as well as being a very satisfying and passionate romance between two men who have chemistry in abundance.
