I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. I absolutely loved it. I couldn't get enough. There is so much I can't say without spoiling the story for you, but what I can say is that Ms. Dukey and Ms. Webster have written an intriguing mindf*ck of a story.

"I make sense of the madness. Because I've lived within it."

Jade's point of view bounces from her present time as a detective, back to her past as a dirty little doll. She's lived in hell and wants her revenge. She left her sister years ago and her need to find Benny and bring Macy home is stronger than anything. The past is always there, taunting her. Or has her past and present collided?

Jade finds peace a little at a time in an unlikely place. Dillon, Jade's partner, is an exciting sexy addition to this story. He's protective and fierce. He added the spark to this story.

“My beautiful, broken girl... All of your pieces are mine to hold. Each shard is mine to willingly slice myself on. You're worth the pain. In fact, I want to embrace that pain if it means, even for one second, I can take some of that pain from you.”

The suspense is nail biting, edge of your seat amazing. I loved trying to untangle the clues.

So now I'm sitting waiting. I cannot wait to see where the rest of this story goes!

Once I heard that Ker Dukey and K. Webster were collaborating on a 'dark' book, I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on it! I mean, come on – these women could make any story dark and twisted and they happily did so with this.

We know this book will be dark, that's apparent from the blurb – the question is: How dark will it be? I'll let you judge.

Jade's story is haunting, terrifying, and yet exciting. Her bravery may have gotten her out of the nightmare, but can she forget and move on? This story is set in the present time with flashbacks to fill in the story.

Did I mention that through all of this, a romance is also blossoming? Honestly, this story was fast-paced with never a dull moment. I'm wondering what's next, how far can Dukey and Webster go? It's anyone's guess...

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script. I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so I thought it best that I tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
