While I found this to be a quick, easy read, I also grew quite frustrated with Mitch. He seemed to have issues listening. I understood that he didn't want to deal with his injury because it'd take him out of the game, but still. Annoyed me.
Then his past issues. I wish he'd have manned up because the way everything came to a resolution was too smooth and easy for me to even see why he was so stressed about it to begin with.
However, that being said, I liked the scenes between him and his wife that showed the closeness they had and the love that he had for his wife. I loved that the couple was a married couple and was going through a rough time, but you didn't feel like you were missing out on a lot by not having been there through their courtship and the early years of their marriage, which is huge kudos to the author since most of the stories I've read with married couples make me feel like I've missed so much.
I did wish we'd gotten a bit more about how on earth they'd dated and married and been together for as long as they had without discussing their past much.
Overall a good read and I'd read further in the series.
