Break Me by Tracy Wolff

New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff delivers the final installment in her thrillingly romantic Art of Pleasure series.

Seven days, seven nights…

One week of passion.

One week of submission.

One week where anything—and everything—goes.

Destiny Bridges has always been driven by the images in her head. For most of her life, her art has been everything to her, with people and life and even sex coming in very distant seconds.

Until journalist Heath Lewis comes to town to interview her for one of the top art magazines in the world. Suddenly he’s asking all kinds of questions she doesn’t know how to answer… and pushing her in ways she never imagined possible.

Ways that have her craving him and the pleasure he so effortlessly gives her.

With Heath, Destiny lets her body take control for the first time in her life. For one week, she gives herself over to all the wicked, wonderful things Heath demands of her, and in doing so learns more about herself—and her art—than she ever dreamed possible.

But when the week is over and Heath is still pushing for more—pushing for everything—she must decide if the changes he’s brought to her life, and her art, are changes she can live with for the rest of her life.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
I am enjoying the variety and different ways that authors have interpreted "The Dirty Bits" in this series from Carina Press. I would recommend that you give them a try – and remember the premise of all the 'good' bits in a short story and judge them on that basis. They are quick, often cheeky, forays into passion, often with a quick transition into romance. Sometimes a short, sexy story is just what you need! This is the third in an arts-based group of stories by Wolff, and I enjoyed it for what it was billed to be. I particularly loved that her art was in glass blowing, which requires strength as well as skill and vision. It ensured that she was every bit as interesting as the injured Heath.

Heath may have travelled the world covering dangerous meaningful stories as a journalist, but Destiny walking out of her lake naked, and utterly secure, throws him. From there on the chemistry is clear, the article takes a back seat and we see two people give themselves over to a new level of pleasure. Will they make it long term... that is for us to decide, but I think Wolff gave us enough interaction that we can hope so.

This is the third book in the Art of Pleasure series and it was missing anything to do with a relationship. I really did like Heath and Destiny and the idea of them together, but the insta-sex was just that.

Heath is a reporter and he is going to write a story on Destiny and her art. When Heath is left waiting on Destiny at the restaurant almost an hour late, he decides to drive to her house to get his story.

Destiny doesn't want to do the story, but she does want to meet Heath, he intrigues her. She wants to get to know him and all about his travels.

They have a chemistry that is off the charts and the passion only gets hotter between them. Will their short time together be all there is between them? Can they work things out to stay together?

As I said, I really liked the idea of this story but for a short story, it took me over a day to finish it. I could not make myself pick it up to read it. It still has Tracy Wolff's writing style and that made it readable. Read it for the insta-sex if nothing else.

This is the third book in this quick read series. I have read the previous books and for me, this one is by far the worst. I found it very hard to read.

You have instant sex in the first few pages and when there could have been a developing relationship or at least friendship, it was just more sex. Yes, I know that these are supposed to be erotic, but there was no chemistry between the characters and it was incredibly disjointed in the writing style.

At times, I was almost guessing at what the book was actually supposed to be about because I was trying to make sense of what was happening.

I would skip this one in the series if I were telling someone to read them. The first two were much more cohesive and made a lot more sense.

The words both thrill and terrify museum curator Grace Parker.

Thrill her because the way he asks—and the way he looks at her—warns that he wants so much more than a few pictures.

Terrify her for the exact same reasons.

British photographer Jaxon Silva isn’t considered the rock star of the art scene for nothing. His latest project? Photos of bound women captured at the height of ecstasy.

Inspired by the magnetic artist to take a risk for the first time in her life, Grace leaps… into Jaxon’s ropes and his arms.

One week together is all it takes to change everything.

Jaxon—and the woman she is when she’s with him—is what Grace wants forever

Jaxon is a famous photographer and Grace is a curator at the museum holding one of his shows.

He was intrigued by Grace just from her emails and when he got the chance to watch her at a local bar, he took it. But he couldn't just watch, he had to meet her. And he was happy to see that she wasn't a pushover. But he wanted more from her.

Grace goes to the bar close to her apartment for a drink never thinking that the artist that she has been planning a show for would be there. When a man offers to buy her drink she refuses, even when she realizes that it's Jaxon Silva. She is shocked to see him sitting next to her.

In the short time they spend together, their feelings grow and it scares Grace. She knows that Jaxon has to leave soon for another show soon. She cannot risk her heart. But Jaxon wants more and doesn't seem to care about the show.

Can they make a relationship work or will they crash and burn? Will Grace get over her fear of losing him? Can Jaxon make her see that she is what he wants?

I liked the first story but liked this one more. This one had a little more storyline and more sex and being a quick read, there wasn't much time for more backstories on them, but I guess if there were then it would be a novel. Anyway, if you are looking for a quickie, then this is one for you. And if you love Tracy Wolff like I do, you have to read it.

Jaxon and Grace's first meeting isn't quite what Jaxon wanted. I loved how Grace wasn't going to let him get away with anything. She made him work for every inch. But after that, I thought that she folded like a chair.

I wanted more from Grace. She started out so strong. But once Jaxon was able to smooth talk her, her resolve to hold out and make a name for herself in the industry went to the back burner.

While they had some great chemistry, I wanted more of a story than to just watch these two dance around whether or not Grace was going to allow Jaxon to photograph her. But if you wanted a quick and dirty read, this is your story. Just don't expect a lot of character development.

This is the second in the series for Tracy Wolff, and I would definitely suggest that you read Hope and Deacon's story too, as it is also super hot!

Grace Parker has been a fan of photographer Jaxon for a very long time, and now she has curated an exhibition of his work. When he sees it, he knows that she has a far better understanding of him and what his work means than anyone he has ever met. This pleases him greatly, because from the moment he saw her photo, he has planned to tie her up, please her, and photograph the results.

He is a man on a mission, and whilst Grace is protective of herself, recognising that she could fall in love with him far too easily, she is really at his mercy. And he makes sure that she loves every minute of it! I enjoyed his care, and whilst he pushes her, he also knows when to hold back and when to make the next move. As we get to read both their sides of the way the week progresses, it is clear that this is just the beginning of something bigger and important. For me, that is the perfect way to end such a short story!

Mary☆☆☆☆
This is the story of Hope and Deacon, both are artists but Deacon is the famous, intimidating artist and Hope is the wannabe artist who is going to school and is going to model for Deacon to help pay for school.

On the first day she goes to model for him, they both know that something is different. Deacon knows that she might be the answer to all his unanswered questions. And Hope knows he is the answer to every question she can think of. She wants to learn more about him, but he doesn't seem to like sharing about himself, other than what she has already read in articles. She wants more, so much more.

Deacon knew when he first saw her that she was different and he knows now that if he touches her, he will be lost in the pleasure. When she is around, he almost feels his life is complete and when she is gone, he can't wait for her to come back.

I love Tracy Wolff and I really liked this story. I wish it would have been longer with more backstory and a little more at the end. I went in knowing it was a short read, but I want more. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Hope is supposed to model for the great Deacon. She can't believe that she's in his presence. She's attracted to him but wonders if they could really have something real.

Deacon knows immediately when Hope arrives that he has found his muse. He is instantly attracted to her and despite knowing he shouldn't get involved with his model, he can't help himself. He just has to touch.

These two have a hot and heavy few days and realize that underneath their artist side, they have a much deeper connection. While the book is short, it's full of steamy scenes and great chemistry. Wolff leaves the reader wanting so much more and I can't wait to read more in this series.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
I have really enjoyed all of the Carina Dirty Bits books, and this one is no exception... in fact, it is maybe one of the hottest!

Hope is a student artist who is keen to learn from the famous Deacon, so jumps at the chance to model for him, and pay off her tuition fees too. From the very beginning it is clear that they are two very sexual beings and no time is wasted in combining art with more.

Whilst this is a short story, the intensity builds dramatically, so that we are well aware that this is not going to fade anytime soon! It is sensual, fun, and gives a peek into the world of a sculptor.

Kris☆☆☆☆☆
Steamy fun novella hit hard in a short amount of pages. I fell for both Hope and Deacon from the very first page. These two had chemistry off the charts and Deacon had all the right intensity, jerkiness, and longing of a dominant male character I enjoy reading. Hope had the walls up around her heart and somehow this intense amazing artist/sculptor she's looked up to forever found a way in.

I definitely will be looking for the next Art of Pleasure installment!

Rough & Ready by Tracy Wolff

Sparks fly between a football pro and an ex-WNBA player. But he needs to prove that he’s more than a sports hero if he wants it all in this steamy standalone from the New York Times bestselling author of Down & Dirty and Hot & Heavy.

Tanner

I may be a baller, but I’ve always tried to do the right thing. Maybe it’s because I’ve been in charge of my four younger sisters for half my life, or because I understand how important it is to be a role model—something I learned from my grandfather, a Southern Baptist preacher who marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. Either way, my pro football career makes it easier to give back, so when a local rec center needs help, I do my best to even the playing field. And not just because Elara Vance, the smoking hot ex-WNBA player who runs the place, has me looking to score off the field

Elara

Before I got sidelined by an injury, my time on the court taught me that pro athletes are all flash and no substance. Sure, Tanner Green talks a good game and wields a big checkbook, but I’m not buying the whole good guy routine. Still, it’s hard to miss all the good he’s doing for my rec center and even harder to ignore the way one look from him makes me tremble in all the best ways. I just wish I knew if he’s for real. Something tells me a little one-on-one might be the only way to find out...

Tanner Green is the main man of the offensive line. He is also the man off the field, with his sweet and caring attitude, protective mode, and all-around good guy. He just can't be real, can he?

Elara Vance lost her dream when an injury sidelined her career in the WNBA. Now she runs a rec center to help kids to have a better future. When she sees Tanner, she knows he can't be real, no man is that good. Now all she needs to do is get more people with money to donate to her rec center so she can continue to help these kids.

Tanner and Elara have explosive chemistry and he wants to explore it more and she wants to deny it. She thinks he is a player because most ballers are. He wants to show her he is different with gifts and donations for her rec center.

Will Tanner be able to convince Elara that he is different? Can Elara let her past go and let Tanner in? Will Tanner share his past with her?

I love this story and it just might be my favorite in the series so far. It is filled with pain, hurt, heartbreak, lust, trust, and love that will last forever. I hope you read this series and enjoy it too. You can read one or all of them, just read them. I found Tracy Wolff with her Ethan Frost series and have loved her writing style ever since, so read it, enjoy it, love it.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the third in the series – and whilst it would read fine as a standalone, it is a great series, so why miss out?

I love the explosive start to the Tanner/Elara story; the scene in the locker room with him protected only by a towel is very entertaining. But after a series of encounters, they both start to understand why she was so angry, and Tanner wants to work together to change things. He is really an all-around good guy and comes from a position of care not control. However, Elara has a frightening past which when shared with Tanner, causes him to see red. Through the abuse she suffered and has risen above, he can see how strong she is, but yet needs to protect her. And here lies the problem in their possible relationship – one which both of them need to overcome in order to move forward together.

I love that he trusts his friends with his problems, but never divulges hers. He takes their advice and does not give up when it would be easier to do so. He shows her how much she matters and that he knows when he messes up. Elara is also willing to revise and accept changes in her life, which leads to a hope-filled happily ever after for them both.

Another lovely romantic, sport filled story from the Lightning family, thank you, Tracy Wolff.

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆☆
I absolutely loved this book! Tanner and Elara are two of my favorite characters that I’ve read in a very long time. Elara is a former WNBA player and currently runs a rec center for children; when funding she’s been banking on for summer rec programs is “stolen” by famous football star Tanner Green, Elara heads straight to him and gives him an earful. Tanner has absolutely no idea who Elara is or why she’s yelling at him, but he’s intrigued and sets out to make things right between them. Once Elara has calmed down, she realizes what a great guy Tanner is but things that happened in her past keep her from getting too close.

Elara is absolutely fierce, she doesn’t take crap from anyone, and defends her “kids” to the death. She’s just an awesome character and Tanner was equally as awesome – though he’s definitely an alpha protector, he’s also the world’s sweetest guy who spends much of his free time also helping out kids in need. This is a hot, steamy read and I was sad to see it end. The only thing that could have made this book better was a longer epilogue, I just wanted more. I’m very much looking forward to more from Tracy Wolff and I hope there is another book to this series and that we wind up getting more of Tanner and Elara.

Hot & Heavy by Tracy Wolff

When a daredevil football stud tries to get into your yoga pants, you know class is about to get interesting. The New York Times bestselling author of Down & Dirty returns with Hot & Heavy.

Sage

Although I come from a long line of free-spirited yoga teachers, sometimes I wish my life could be just a little more normal. More ordinary. More boring. Easier said than done, especially since it’s on me to keep my family’s studio up and running every time my mother wanders off to find herself. But that’s when my best friend sends me a sexy new student: Shawn Wilson, a slick wide receiver with a death wish and a chip on his broad, muscular, irresistible... wait, what were we talking about again?

Shawn

They say I’m an adrenaline junkie. The truth is, I only really feel alive when I’m risking my life: Snowboarding, parachuting, BASE jumping... the kind of fun team management considers breach of contract. When my coach orders me to take yoga to “center myself,” I’m pissed—until I get an eyeful of delectable, flexible Sage Kaufmann. Unfortunately, she’s determined to keep things between us strictly business. But if Sage can get me to enjoy downward dog, maybe I can convince her that scorching hot sex could be the perfect shot of adrenaline.

Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team

Mary Jo☆☆☆☆
I enjoyed this book. One yoga teacher, who knows nothing about sports, hooks up a star football player and then leaves him without a backward glance.

Sage doesn't take chances. She doesn't hook up with random guys. And she most certainly doesn't get it on with random guys in the back of club. When she does all three in one night, is it any wonder that she practically runs from the bar and back to her safe little world?

Shawn loves taking chances. The adrenaline rush takes him to places that he can't find normally. And at the height of it, he feels closer to the mom and sister he lost when he was a child. When he takes a chance and follows the woman he's been eyeing in the bar all evening to the back, he can't believe how right it feels to be with her. When she leaves him without a backward glance? He's not sure how he feels about that.

Sage's encounter with Shawn is quickly forgotten when she realizes her flighty mother has once again left her holding the bag. Everything she's done since she turned eighteen is with the goal of being safe and secure. She had enough of living like a gypsy when she was growing up and she never wants to be homeless or hungry again.

Shawn comes back into her life at the right time – she desperately needs help and he needs someone to help with his back problem. Low-key help. Reluctant to spend more time with him, she names an outrageous price and is stunned when he agrees to pay it for her to help him.

The relationship quickly turns from all business to pure pleasure. Sage can't believe she's dating a professional athlete, one that could easily date anyone he wants. Shawn thinks that Sage hung the moon.

A lack of communication between Sage and Shawn derails their fledgling relationship. Shawn has to learn to take others’ feelings into consideration and learn to talk about the demons that haunt him. Sage's childhood issues play a huge part in her reluctance to enter into a relationship and to trust people.

I wish that the author would have explored Sage's relationship with her mother more. I really think that there is a lot going on that would have helped the reader really understand Sage and her trust issues.

Mary☆☆☆☆☆
Sage is at a bachelorette party and would rather be anywhere else, until she sees the most beautiful man she has ever seen sitting at the bar. When they make eye contact, Sage thinks that she is out of his league and tries to stop looking in his direction. But it is hard to do. When he sends over a round of drinks for the group, Sage thinks that he is making fun of her and it really makes her sad and she runs for the bathroom but before she reaches the bathroom, a strong hand grabs her. It turns out to be the sexy guy from the bar.

Shawn is the football player that most every woman knows who he is, except for Sage. She has no idea who he is. While Shawn thinks that he has given her all the signs for her to make the next move, the sexy girl at the bar just isn't taking the hints. When she runs towards the bathroom after he sends a round of drinks, he has to find out what is wrong. They get hot and heavy in the alcove in the hall and when it is all over, Shawn wants her number so he can take her out to dinner and she refuses.

While Shawn is an adrenaline junkie, Sage is just the opposite. She doesn't think anyone should risk their lives just for the rush. But if she stops and thinks about it, her feelings are because of the way she was raised. And Shawn is chasing his demons from his past. When Shawn does something that scares Sage, will she be able to forgive him, or will she just walk away?

Can Shawn and Sage get past the fear and demons they both are running from? Will they be able to make a relationship work? Will the future be bright for them both? Can they both share their past with the other so that they will understand why they do and act the way they do?

I love this series and I think Shawn and Sage are my favorite couple so far. I can't wait to see who will be in book three. If you are looking for a new author or haven't read Tracy Wolff yet, start on this series, or any series for that matter. I love all her work and look forward to reading more from her.

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆
I quite enjoyed this standalone read. Shawn and Sage are both likeable characters who are fighting off demons from their past while trying to live their day-to-day lives. Sage, after being dragged to a bar by friends, breaks her rule of only have two drinks and winds up having a quickie with Shawn outside the bathrooms at the bar. Knowing it can’t go anywhere, when Shawn asks for her number, Sage denies him and splits. Then when Shawn needs a yoga instructor to help with his football injury, his friends recommend Sage and the two wind up hot and heavy.

I loved the beginning of this book and the way that Shawn is down to earth instead of cocky like most athletes you read about. The ending felt rushed and I’d have liked more from their story, but hopefully we’ll see Shawn and Sage appearing in future Lightning books!

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the second in the series, and does include elements from the first book, but would be a strong standalone too.

Both Sage and Shawn have been deeply affected by their pasts, and the chemistry between them threatens all the coping mechanisms that they have developed over the years. Sage is thinking about taking a risk, Shawn may have found a solution to his need to take them. This opposing reaction in the face of lust and impending love is an entertaining one to observe, and ties in well when the worlds that they inhabit collide.

I enjoy a good sports romance, and the therapy is often a part of the story, but rarely yoga, so it was fun to learn a little about the possible moves and help it could offer – and was amusing when Shawn realised that Sage really didn't know anything about him or his fame.

This is a fun new addition to the series; thank you, Tracy Wolff.

Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff

What’s a crown prince to do with time on his hands? Or better yet, who? It’s Prince Garrett’s turn to find love in this mouthwatering standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Royal Pain.

Once upon a time I was being groomed to sit on the throne of Wildemar. Now I’m lucky they let me into the palace through the front door. After I was kidnapped and tortured by extremists, my reward upon my release is that nobody trusts me enough to let me be king. And since my twin brother, Kian, has assumed all my responsibilities, I figure why not take over as the black sheep?

But after breaking things off with my betrothed—we never had much chemistry, anyway—and giving the jetsetting playboy lifestyle a try, I’m starting to wonder if I’m cut out for this s***. Then I meet Lola Barnes, a drop-dead gorgeous entrepreneur from the States who’s as refreshing as she is feisty.

It’s supposed to be a one-night-stand—until the press catches wind of my “new American sweetheart.” Trouble is, Lola’s no sweetheart. But the more I see our names together in the headlines, the more I find myself craving another taste

Prince Garrett, His Royal Hotness, was the crown prince. After he was kidnapped, he had time on his hands to get his mind right, so his father the king thinks. But all Garrett wants to do is forget what happened and move on with his life.

Lola is an American girl who owns her own multimillion-dollar internet vintage clothing company. She meets Garrett one day while he is swimming and when she acts like she doesn't know who he is, he seems to be relieved. But everyone knows who Garrett and his twin brother are.

While Lola tells it like it is and Garrett is proper in every way, they do not seem to be the couple kind of people. But after one date, the people of Wildemar are thrilled Garrett has found such a string woman. So the PR people at the palace wants to use the couple idea to help Garrett get his crown prince status back.

So now while Garrett and Lola are playing the couple, will their feelings for each other grow stronger? Can Lola play the part without losing her heart? Will Garrett finally lose his cool and release all the pain of his kidnapping, so he can finally heal?

I loved the first book, but Garrett and Lola stole my heart. The way he fought to keep his pain hidden and wanting to get his status back until he realized that wasn't all that mattered in life. It was the perfect way to get his life back on track. And Kian will always be Kian, the fun loving second brother.

If you love a great royal romance with a twist, this one is more about the prince than the Cinderella story, then this series is for you. I loved both stories and would even love more. And if you haven't read anything from Tracy Wolff yet you should and pick anything from her, you will not be disappointed.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series (I would love there to be more) and I would recommend that you read them in order. Royal Pain introduced us to younger twin Kian, who has been the playboy of the duo. He suddenly had to step up when his brother, Garrett, is kidnapped, which was not the easiest transition. Now we get to read Garrett's story on his return to the kingdom.

I really enjoyed this book – it had the requisite fairy tale elements but was most definitely not shying away with the difficult times that Garrett is having returning to normal life. His father, the king, has severely undermined his self-respect as he has insisted that Kian remains the crown prince, inferring that Garrett is incompetent. After the strength he showed under torture, this is just destroying him. A distraction in the form of a beautiful, wily, and funny woman called Lola might just be the answer in more ways than one.

Watching Garrett and Lola dance the dance, even under the circumstances that they have agreed to, and as they realise how much they care about each other is a mixture of sexy, fun, and also frustrating. Add in the fallout from the abduction, and we get a very engaging story of two seemingly very different people, who actually have a lot more in common than you would imagine.

Thank you, Ms. Wolff, for a fresh perspective on royal romances.
