The Chase by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob & Isabella LaPearl Blog Tour

One temptress. Two alphas. Hot pursuit.

The night Heavenly Young gave her innocence to Dr. Kenneth Beckman and Seth Cooper, her world was ripped apart by betrayal and tragedy. She leaves behind everything and everyone to fulfill a deathbed promise and start her life over. But her solitary quest forces her to face her past and question where her future truly lies—alone or in the arms of the two unforgettable men she loves?

After putting his heart on the line—something Seth swore he’d never do again—he’s devastated when Heavenly walks away from him and Beck. Hell-bent on reclaiming her, they chase her down and help her complete her solemn duty. But Heavenly is caught between independence and love, forcing him and Beck to make her a deal. She’ll give them total commitment for eight weeks. If she still wants her freedom after that, they’ll let her go—for good.

After Beck’s reckless mistake implodes the fragile bond he and Seth share with Heavenly, he’s determined to prove they can give her both the adventure she seeks and the devotion she craves. So the men devise a game to break down her barriers and bind her in bliss. But when their dreams are within reach, a demon from Beck’s long-forgotten past returns, bent on revenge that might cost him his life.

Beside the PI, Beck took the stairs two at a time. They were both out of breath when they entered their suite. The trek up three flights wasn’t the only reason.

Behind them, Seth slammed the door. Beck caught sight of Heavenly and raked his hot stare over her.

She approached, hands outstretched, and settled a palm on each of their chests, her touch like a brand. But when she darted a regretful glance their way, dread gonged in Beck’s brain.

“I want what’s about to happen,” she panted. “I need to get out of my head and feel alive.”

“We can do that for you.” Seth moved in to kiss her.

She dodged him. “Even if it’s just tonight, not a promise of anything more?”

Beck gritted his teeth. The battle for their future might be a one-woman war right now, but he wasn’t giving up without a fight. If she ultimately wanted men in her life who put her first, he and Seth had to not only show her they loved her but tell her. They’d steep her in pleasure until she felt boneless and ecstatic, then drop the L bomb. After that, if she chose to walk away from them for good… Well, he’d be heartbroken, but he’d have no regrets.

“Just tonight it is. Now why don’t you come here, little girl?” And let us change your mind?

Book one leaves you pondering what Heavenly is going to do. Book two starts exactly where book one stops.

Beck and Seth have decided that being enemies will not achieve their goal of having Heavenly. When Heavenly learns that Beck is married, she doesn't know what to think, but with her dad's health looming over her, she doesn't really have time to think about it.

Beck knows that he has to fix the problem, but with his past, something he never speaks about, he's not sure how to go about fixing the mess he's put them in.

Raine is one of Heavenly's only friends and agrees to help Heavenly on her quest to travel to Wisconsin. Back home to where she and her dad were the happiest. But when planning to leave, Heavenly knows that she has a lot to think about and so she decides that she has to leave Seth and Beck behind for her journey.

Neither of her men are happy about her decision, but with the issues that have now been brought up, both know that they have to back off and let Heavenly decide on her own whether or not she can trust them. Also, Seth and Beck know that despite their own personal proclivities, they have to introduce Heavenly to their world gently and slowly, so that she can adjust and hopefully accept them for all they want from her. I love how gentle they are with her and how they aren't too afraid to show her who they truly are.

Finally, the final conflict in this book is where most of the action comes in. I thought that it was a very well thought out conflict and really enjoyed watching everything come together and work itself out. I am very much looking forward to seeing more of this family and hope more books are to come.

This is the second book in the series, and you absolutely need to read The Choice first! It had been a while since I had read it, so I went back and indulged again, as I knew the experience would be all the richer – and it was. I am assuming you have too in my review.

At the very end of The Choice, Seth and Beck finally have Heavenly in their arms, and all three are willing to give the trio a chance – in no small part thanks to the interventions by Liam, Macen, and Raine (another wonderful story, if you have missed out on it – get reading! [Doms of Her Life]). But as they chase to the hospital for her father, she discovers that Beck is seeking a divorce... which clearly means he must be married!

However, this is merely a blip on the horizon compared to where this story goes with Beck's past... be prepared for the unexpected – and be ready for Seth also to have some secrets of his own, which will await us in the next installment.

As this engaging trio get to know each other better, they also have to try and navigate a course which enables Heavenly to honour her father, to continue with her career plans, and come to terms with the kinks that her men have previously indulged. She may be innocent, but she is not naive, and I found that to be an engaging characteristic – she wasn't disingenuous or coy, she was curious and open minded. Her shopping trips with Raine were fun and educational!

There is a lot of fun and lightness in this book but it goes dark too, and as we wait for Heavenly to make her decision and say those three littles words, life gets serious and needs the full team to come to the rescue. Moving, frightening, and unexpected, but it certainly coalesced her feelings.

I really need The Commitment NOW!!!!!

The Choice by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob & Isabella LaPearl Blog Tour

Heavenly Young doesn’t have time for romance. The innocent nursing student is struggling to care for her ailing father, keep a roof over their head, and start a new career. But fate decides to complicate her world even more by putting two very different men in her path and forcing her to make a choice that will change her life forever.

Dr. Ken Beckman—vascular surgeon by day, super-alpha by night—has three hard-and-fast rules: Never date where he works, never touch vanillas, and never get tangled up with a virgin. But the moment he meets Heavenly, he aches to toss his scruples aside and claim the untouched beauty. She’s not ready for someone like him…but he wants her too much to walk away—even though he’s not the only man caught in her spell.

Seth Cooper, ex-cop turned private eye, isn’t looking for a happily ever after, just a hot-and-sweaty good time. And the minute he claps eyes on Heavenly, he’s all for coaxing the angel into his bed. But soon, she’s so deep under his skin that he’s willing to put his broken past behind him and turn his life upside down for her. But he’s got competition…

When it came to helping friends, Beck and Seth were in sync. But now they’re vying for the same girl, and the games get vicious—until they realize Heavenly is keeping secrets from them both. Will they call a truce and work together again before they both lose her for good?

Raine’s big brother shoved a glass of thick red vino in her hand. “So, did you find someone to fuck your brains out?”

She recoiled. If she gave him an equally blunt answer, would he stop this mortifying inquisition?

“Yes. It was easy.” Heavenly punctuated her lie with a bright smile.

River glowered. “Tell me Beck or Seth finally manned up.”

“He’s someone you don’t know.”

One of River’s dark brows shot up. “Where did you meet him?”

“Um… around.”

“What does that mean? A park? A bar? A grocery store? A swingers’ club?”

“Why does it matter? I found someone and it was lovely.”

He looked skeptical. “Lovely? That’s how you describe meeting a stranger, losing your clothes, and banging him?”

Heavenly bristled. “How would you describe a hookup?”

“Hot, sweaty, messy. Mind-blowing. Spine-melting. Earth-shattering.” River snorted. “Never lovely.”

“Sweaty?” She shuddered. “That sounds unpleasant. It was nice. I… tingled.”

“Tingled?” He scowled. “Did your pussy fall asleep because he couldn’t find your clit? Maybe you should have given him a map.”

She nearly choked on her wine. “I found the experience perfectly satisfying.”

“Sweetheart, you don’t know squat about satisfaction.” Raine’s brother leaned in and peered at her, eye to eye. “Here’s what I think happened: You haven’t so much as flirted with another man. You don’t understand why ‘lovely’ sex is bad because you’ve never had it. In fact, not only did you not have sex with this mysterious ‘stud,’ you haven’t offered the virginity you asked me to take to anyone else.”

“What. The fuck. Did you say?” Beck growled suddenly.

Heavenly glanced over her shoulder. Both Beck and Seth glared from across the kitchen. Oh, no.

“Get out,” Seth snapped at River, hauling ass across the room. “Now. While you can still walk.”

Dread burned her veins. She didn’t have to wonder how much they’d overheard. Obviously, it had been more than enough. Tonight had just gone from mortifying to catastrophic.

River backed away, hands raised. “Hey, just so you know, I turned her down because I like my balls where they are.”

“That’s the only reason you’re getting to keep them,” Beck insisted. “Seth told you to get the fuck out.”

“I’m leaving,” River assured, then glanced her way. “Good luck.”

Once he’d gone, silence descended. She was alone with the two men who had been tempting, confusing, and consuming her for months. They were going to demand answers.

This wouldn’t end well.

Heavenly drew in a shaky breath, startled to find both now inches away, arms crossed over their chests. Aggression rolled off them, filling the tense air. Beck drilled holes through her with narrowed eyes, set off by a scathing slash of his mouth. Seth’s seething stare was no less displeased. Unfortunately, she had nothing to offer the savage beasts except a smile full of trembling bravado.

Because the truth would change everything.

Heavenly is a very young, naïve woman who enthralls two different doms.

She is a hardworking, lovable woman whose first priority is her father. While he is sick with an auto-immune disease, she is able to befriend Beckman, a friendly surgeon who is immediately taken with Heavenly's pure nature. Despite Beckman's kinkier needs – he is a sadist – he can't help but want Heavenly for a sub.

Then you have Seth. He is also a dom but not a sadist. He is in town to help his good friend, but when he meets Heavenly, he too is immediately drawn to her sweetness and good heart.

You watch these two men try to figure out how to woo Heavenly and you also watch Heavenly struggle with wanting two different men. This was mostly about the three of them figuring out how and whether or not they could develop a relationship. There was a lot of buildup but not a lot of physical connection. What was described was steamy and just what you'd expect, but it was very little of the story.

I really enjoyed how this story was written. There were different points of view and I thought that really helped create the right atmosphere for when they all came together. Their chemistry is off the charts and their relationship, while unconventional, is one that will hopefully work for them all. While I wouldn't say that this is your typical story, all three authors wrote a compelling romance and I can't wait to see what happens next!

This is the first in a new series – but we have met many of the characters in the first Doms of Her Life series, which means that it is very easy to fall straight back into that world. If you have not read them, then I would highly recommend you do. I would say before this one if you can, but this would be a good starting point too.

What a fabulous name for such an innocent character! Heavenly Young had to grow up far too quickly when her mother abandoned her and her sick father, but that stinted all standard growing up for a beautiful young woman. So when two, significantly older, and most definitely far more experienced men start to pay her attention, she is most confused. And possibly more amusingly to the reader, both the dominant (one even a sadist) men are confused by their feelings too! Really, this is the most fascinating setup of a ménage novel I have read in a long time.

Given the distance that all three of them have to travel, you can be sure that we get a wonderfully complex and intense story developing. Heavenly feels obliged to keep her home life private, as she is embarrassed at how she and her father live. She does, however, want to explore the feelings that both men incite in her. Beck and Seth, who have known Raine, Macen, and Liam and their story, have no intention of sharing Heavenly and so the competition is on...

Knowing that this was the first book in the series, I was well aware that my patience would be stretched as these three people come to terms with what could, what might, and what should be their future. But to be honest, the writing is so good, and the plot so full of twists and wonderful dialogue, the end drew close all too quickly. I defy you not to get all hot and bothered from the power of words and very little action.

I cannot wait to see how things move from the rather cliffhanger ending. So much more to come, of that I am sure!

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
Heavenly Young is a naïve young woman that knows nothing about love or being in love. With the way her mother left and her father being sick, she had to grow up really fast. She didn't get the chance to grow from a teenager to a young adult because she had to become her father’s caregiver. Now she is a volunteer at the hospital, taking internet classes to become a nurse, and working a night job to help pay the bills and cover her dad’s medicine.

Beck and Seth were drawn to her from the moment they saw her. They haven't had feelings like this before and they each want her for themselves. So they will fight for her feelings, even play a few jokes on each other to win her over.

Both men will figure out that they will have to work together to get Heavenly to see that they just want to protect her and help her. Can they work together to make that happen? Will she be able to let them in and tell them about her past?

I found this story well written and I would not have known it was by three authors if I hadn't saw it with my own eyes. It flows very well and is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat at times. There were a few places that dragged for me but not enough to make me stop reading. There is a big cliffhanger, so be prepared for that. I can't wait to see what happens next. And I need to go back and read Raine's books because I haven't read those yet.

Friday, February 8

Shadows was haunted.

Macen “Hammer” Hammerman stood with his back to the wall in the dungeon of his BDSM club, watching scenes play out around him. The scent of leather filled his head. A whip cracked. A sub he barely knew let out a feminine moan. Bodies entwined. The constant erotic ebb and flow of pleasure that played out around him night after night made him hunger for the only woman he’d ever craved.

Raine Kendall.

In the corner, a Dom spanked his sub. Hammer clenched his fist. It had been too long since he’d felt the burn of his palm on Raine’s taut, lush backside, heard her cry in his ears.

But after the trauma she’d suffered last December, his Dominant urges raged too hot for her. If he unleashed them, he’d break her. Much better for Raine if he stayed away.

In his pocket, his phone buzzed. He pulled out the device and glanced at the screen. His best friend and the man he shared her with, Liam O’Neill, had texted him a video.

When he clicked on the clip, Raine parted her bare thighs. He’d know her body anywhere. Petal-pink silk clung to her hips, framing transparent black lace that kissed her pussy…where Liam had conveniently focused the lens. She dragged her fingers over the damp, clinging fabric, pausing to rub her clit with an audible pant. “Please…” she cried. “Macen!”

Instantly, his cock jolted to life.

Liam’s accompanying message read: Don’t you wish you were here?

Yes. Balls deep. Every fucking night.

Yet you’re always working while Liam is at home, getting his fill of Raine.

Because his best friend was better at balancing his Dominant needs with his sexual ones.

Goddamn it, every time Hammer closed his eyes, the memory of Raine on her knees, looking up at him with blue eyes full of yearning, taunted him. The phantom grip of her pussy squeezed him. Hell, he could almost taste her on his tongue right now.

More blood surged downward. He went from merely hard to steely enough to pound nails.

Hammer shoved the phone in his pocket with a growl. The nagging in his cock wasn’t going away on its own. It never did.

He’d learned that the hard way.

Biting off a curse, he headed to his fucking office. Again.

As he whirled around, he nearly ran into Pike, one of his dungeon monitors. “Carl is coming to bitch at you. Same shit. Just a warning.”

“I don’t have time. Deal with it.”

“He’s insisting on talking to you.”

“Then throw him the fuck out,” Hammer called over his shoulder.

“For the night?”

“Or for-fucking-ever. I don’t give a shit.”

Macen just wanted five damn minutes alone.

He’d barely finished the thought when Carl—an egomaniac of a Dom—approached with an angry scowl.

“I’m getting tired of Knotty Master not cleaning the equipment after—”

“Either tell the man to clean it up or have your sub do it. Do I look like your maid? Your mother?”

Carl narrowed his eyes. “You can’t talk to me that way.”

Hammer clenched his fist, fighting the urge to punch the prick. “I just did.”

Without waiting for Carl’s reply, Hammer stormed across the dungeon, glowering at anyone who dared to make eye contact. The crowd took a collective step back.

Except Beck, Shadows’ resident sadist. He wore a disapproving smirk.

“What?” Macen glared, never breaking his stride.

“Just admiring your people skills…”

“Fuck you.”

Beck shook his head.

This night just kept getting better and better. Hammer’s cock throbbed. Raine’s luscious video burned a hole in his pocket. Why wouldn’t everyone go the hell away so he could enjoy it in peace?

Lewis, his new security geek, approached with a question on his face.

Hammer preempted him. “Is it death, blood, or a lawsuit?”

“Huh? Oh, no. I’m just not sure how to—”

“Save it for later.”

Macen finally prowled the last steps through his office and into his bedroom. He plucked his phone free as he slammed the door behind him. With one hand, he jerked off his tie. With the other, he tapped his thumb on the cell phone’s screen. The video launched. He lay on the bed, yanked down his fly, and lost himself between Raine’s legs.

His dick was already desperate and leaking when he wrapped himself in a tight fist. He jerked on his shaft as Raine’s breathy plea echoed in his ears. The insatiable lust he’d always felt for her flared in his belly. His hold turned brutal at the sight of her slender fingers teasing the nubbin he loved to suckle. Fuck, what he wouldn’t give to plunge his tongue beneath that veil of lace, lap at her sweet-tart cream, and fuck her with his mouth until she screamed his name.

Batting his thumb over the play button again and again, Hammer watched Raine’s self-induced suffering in an endless loop. Memories of the first time she’d drowned him in the wicked heat of her mouth—in this very bed—assailed him. He’d broken his own rule and sunk his fat crest into her narrow slit right here, too. The devastating friction had unraveled every one of his good intentions. He’d fucked her hard.

His cock grew thicker, his skin stretching impossibly tighter, as he quickened his fist and pawed himself with unrelenting strokes. A familiar tingle edged down his spine.

“Fuck yes.”

Hammer slammed his fist down to his hilt, aching to feel Raine shatter. When she came, her snug cunt clamped down as if she sought to force him out. But he always shoved his way back in, taking her again, driving through her spasming flesh until she clawed him and screamed.

He stroked harder. His balls drew up tight. His pulse thundered in his ears.

With a yell, he erupted into his hand, his seed spilling, his body humming.

As he lay staring at the ceiling, panting and sweating, he dimmed his phone.

This shit would be so much better if Raine were really with him. In cuffs. Begging. And Liam loomed behind her, squeezing into her tight ass while Hammer stuffed her cunt full and—

“Fuck.” He rolled off the bed and kicked his pants away. If he didn’t stop thinking about Raine and sex in the same sentence, he wouldn’t make it out of his office for the rest of the night. He should know. He’d been jacking off in here for weeks.

Each night, he went home so fucking desperate to claim her. To make her strip. To tie her to their bed. To crawl inside her head and, together with Liam, command her body.

But two months ago, Hammer had found her car door gaping open in his empty parking lot at four thirty a.m., the contents of her purse on the ground, and Raine nowhere in sight. He’d been shaken to the soul. He and Liam had searched frantically to stop her attacker before the bastard raped and murdered the only woman who completed them. Miraculously, they’d found her in a dingy warehouse nearby. She’d been clutching a slick knife in her delicate fist, naked and freezing, rocking despondently in a pool of blood near the father she’d been forced to kill.

She hadn’t been the same since. None of them had. So when he forced himself to go home in the wee hours of the morning and saw Raine sleeping, guilt and contrition inevitably strangled him. His cock battled his conscience.

His needs almost always lost.

Why should Raine have to fulfill his sexual demands when he hadn’t even provided her the basic safety she deserved?

Shoving his question aside, Hammer rose from the bed and made his way to the shower. He scrubbed his body as if he could wash away his failures. It went against his grain to sulk like a bloody weeping vagina, as Liam would say.

That manipulative son of a bitch. He’d sent the video of Raine to torture him.

It had fucking worked.

With a heavy sigh, Hammer shut off the water and snatched a towel off the nearby hook. Wrapping it around his waist, he stepped from the shower stall.

“Did you give yourself the best thirty seconds of your life again?” Beck leaned against his bathroom wall with a smirk.

“Don’t tell me your sad personal stories, man.”

“You’re not funny. Didn’t your momma ever warn you that if you keep pulling on your peter, you’ll go blind?”

“Is that why you wear glasses when you work?” Hammer drawled and stepped toward the fogged mirror. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

Beck held up his phone. Not even three days of dark stubble could disguise the sneer on his face. “Why is your BFF texting me to ask if everything’s all right?”

“No idea.”

“Want to tell me why you’re biting off everyone’s heads?”

Fuck. Beck was here to be “helpful.” The last thing Hammer wanted to do was talk. It wouldn’t change a damn thing. “Because people like you won’t leave me alone.”

“Oh, you’re hurting my little feewings.” Beck chuckled. “Seriously, all this pouting is going to ruin your big, bad Dom reputation.”

“But you think a sadist acting like a nagging wife will improve yours?”

“I haven’t even started nagging at your sorry ass.” Beck reached behind him and shoved a bottle of tequila at Hammer. “Drink up. I’ll drive you home later.”

“What is this for? You think I’ll be your cheap, easy lay for the night? Pass.”

“Your witty one-liners are sounding a lot like someone avoiding his problems. I’ve been telling you for weeks to vent whatever’s bothering you, but—surprise, surprise—you’re not listening. Since the only time you ever purge your shit is when you’re drunker than fuck, I bought a bottle of your favorite. Go for it.”

“Blow me.”

“No, thanks. You’re not my type.”

Hammer glared. “I don’t have a goddamn thing to purge.”

“Really? Then why have you become the poster child for self-induced happy endings?” Beck scoffed. “Raine is smarter than you. She knew she needed a therapist to process everything that’s happened. But you, dumb fuck? Still refusing to talk to anyone. Do you really think you can fix yourself? Or are you just afraid they’ll shrink the wrong head? I promise, when they’re done, you’ll still have your little toy to play with.”

Hammer didn’t even want to look at him. “Go whip a sub.”

“Nah. I’m having far more fun with a masochist right now.”

Beck meant him, and Hammer wanted to punch the asshole. But he’d probably psychoanalyze that need, too. “I’m not in the mood for this.”

“But you’re in the mood to masturbate?” Beck sent him a sly glance. “Are you beating your meat so hard because it owes you money?”

“Are you giving up the medical field so you can take this act to The Improv?”

“Raine would give it to you for free, you know.”

Macen nearly lost his temper. “Get your thoughts out of my sub’s pussy.”

“Believe it or not, I’m worried about you. When was the last time you took a night off?”

Hammer didn’t need Beck dabbling in his life right now, even if his old pal was right.

“Most every Sunday. But it’s a busy Friday night, and I have a club to run. Thanks for stopping by.” Macen gestured him to the door.

“It’s so busy you have time for self-love. Got it.” The stare Beck shot him said to get real. “Go home. You’ve got a competent staff. The place practically runs itself. I’ll watch over everyone and call if there’s a problem.”

Why should he go home and torture himself with what he shouldn’t have?

Goddamn it. The soothing serenity he’d felt when Raine had first come into his life was long gone. Of course, back then, he’d done a pretty good job of protecting her. But once Liam had come from New York and forced him to see her as a woman, Hammer’s long-tested restraint had torn off its leash. He and his best friend had fought like snarling dogs to claim her…before they’d realized they should put her between them. Together, they had turned her life upside down.

They had gotten her pregnant.

And they had unwittingly roused the monster who had nearly taken her life. When Raine had needed him most, Hammer hadn’t been there to save her. He would never forgive himself for that.

“I can’t,” he finally admitted.

“Liam’s text says you can. Go. Sandwich the princess between you two.”

He didn’t take orders from Beck—or anyone. Still, the video of Raine’s legs spread open in invitation for him to drown inside her was burned deep in his psyche. Hammer didn’t want his hand. He wanted her.

“Fine.” He sighed. “I’ll cut out early. You have a key to lock up?”

Beck patted his pants pocket. “Right here.”

“Thanks.”

With a sly smile, the sadist bumped his shoulder. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“So basically, anything goes. Got it.” Macen sighed. “And thanks.”

“I’m sure you’ll be happy to kick my ass if I ever need it.” With a wave, Beck headed for the door, closing it softly behind him.

After tossing on some clothes and combing out his hair, Macen pushed his way out the building and jogged for his Audi, jingling his keys in his pocket. He was going to go home, hold Raine, and talk to the two people he loved most. Somehow, he was going to fix whatever was wrong between them because he was tired of fighting the ghosts lingering in the dungeon, haunting his life.

Halfway across the parking lot, he glanced over his shoulder to make sure the door had shut behind him. His gaze snagged on the camera in the alcove—the one that had captured Bill Kendall’s snarling face when he’d tased Raine and dragged her away to her near death.

Just like that, the ghosts swarmed Hammer again.

He jerked his car door open and revved the engine. He tried to picture Raine waiting for him at home, wearing those panties…and nothing else. He strained to imagine him and Liam enveloping their woman together for the first time in months and blowing her precious mind.

Tires screeching, Hammer tore out of the lot. One of the last times he’d squealed away from Shadows, he’d been frantically searching for Raine after he’d realized she was in her father’s clutches. A memory of the fucker’s maniacal grin stabbed its way through his brain. The array of implements he’d spread out in order to torture Raine in that fucking warehouse hit next, obliterating every thought except murdering a man who was already dead.

Hammer’s heart thudded. With one fist, he gripped the steering wheel. With the other, he punched the dashboard. When would he be able to chase these ghosts away?

Maybe never.

That thought terrified him.

Fuck, he couldn’t go home to Raine and Liam half-hinged. He’d be a liability, a loose cannon. He had to get his shit wired tight.

Because if he didn’t, Hammer already knew his ghosts would follow him home.

What an ending to a truly amazing story. Hammer, Raine, and Liam have had a rocky road since the beginning and when everything seems to be finally going in their favor, fate tosses another road block in their way.

Not that everything was all peaches and cream before the bottom fell out. Hammer felt that his roughness would be too much for Raine during the pregnancy so he stays away. Raine – as any pregnant woman would – sees it as "he doesn't want me anymore" and feels abandoned. Liam does his best to reassure her – and himself – that Hammer does love her and is excited about the pregnancy.

Just as they are getting through that, Raine's brother shows up believing the worst about Hammer and even gets the police involved. As the trio tries to fight the demons inside them and the forces outside, they get a boost in that Liam's parents arrive to give them much needed support.

It’s hard to believe that this series has reached its end and it will always hold a special place in my heart. It makes me wish that the authors would post/write seasonal novellas so we can see how the trio navigates life, and love, with their growing family.

I love this trio but let me tell ya, this book just seemed a little over the top at times. I think we could have gone without all the drama, some of it sure, but all of that? Too over the top for me and I just wanted to get through the book, which seemed to never end. I loved Liam’s family, if we could have had more of them and less FBI, cops, and drama, I would have loved the book. The drama with River was fine, but the rest seemed like stuff to fill empty pages. I wanted more love, more Hammer, Liam and Raine together, not all the other crap. Then the epilogue, seriously? I don’t want to ruin the ending but umm, someone needs to go back and rethink the numbers here, something doesn’t come out right. Raine gives birth, then five weeks later… ummm nope.

Characters: Well written

This is the fourth in an excellent series. You definitely need to read them in order – and each is a good chunky book, so no shortchanging on the story in each one. It is a bittersweet moment when you reach the natural conclusion to a story – but I have a feeling that there are plenty more of the cast who would like to entertain us in the future!

These three have, one would have thought, already been through the mill and back – but the writers obviously thought otherwise as we are witness to even more drama and some serious lows in this one. There are some great highs too, and the connection between the three definitely stands up to the tests placed in front of it. Do not think you can read this in little chunks between tasks… or a few pages before bed, you will need to keep turning the pages, and forget what is going on completely. I loved the revelations about Liam's family and the heated ear... it was difficult to listen to Bryn and have faith in her, given she was a new character, but her gift did provide me with some reassurance. However, that Raine had family still alive was a less auspicious discovery.

If you like your relationships with plenty of passion, a healthy dash of DDs, and three hearts full of loving, then this will make you happy through to the very last page.

As everyone knows, navigating a new relationship is hard. It’s even harder when the three people involved in said relationship have doubts about the true feelings and motives of the others involved. Liam wants to be happy, but with his ex showing up unannounced, and causing more problems at a time when he's trying to ensure Raine knows how he feels about her.

Hammer is happy and would be happier if Raine's father would disappear forever. He knows he should have taken a more pro-active approach with him years ago, but Raine's safety was more important to him, both then and now.

Raine knows there is more going on that than what Liam and Hammer are telling her. She can sense it, feel it. As much as they want her honesty and trust, she needs the same from them.

Raine's submissive nature emerges and both Liam and Macen are astounded by her faith in them. Until they screw up. Again. Raine's submissive nature takes a backseat to her anger, and she lets the f bombs fly.

With each of them facing their own fears and doubts, it’s a toss-up as to whose fears will come to the forefront next. Through it all, their love remains steady and strong, and as they learn to talk it through their problems rather than around them, you can't help but to root for this dynamic threesome.

Wow! Each book gets better and I am drawn into the story even more! I don’t want to give anything away because this book had so many things happen and some were unbelievable and you just wanted to throw your Kindle across the room. I love Raine, Liam and Macen and once again their chemistry is off the charts and the sex is hot! I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next one!

After an amazing weekend together, Hammer and Liam are seeing the progress they've made with Raine. They are starting to believe that this could happen, they can all be in a relationship. Raine was open and working on her communication, with Beck and Seth helping her understand those oh so dominant men.

With one phone call everything changes. Can they come back from it? Can they come back to each other?

So many twists and turns in this one, with a touch of suspense thrown in. Lies will be exposed, truths will be found, frustrations and stress are running high and I couldn't put it down. I love this trio, but I still really need more Beck and Seth...I am intrigued at the little glimpse I got toward the end.

Waiting patiently to see what's next for the trio.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the third in the series (not the last) and you need to have read the previous two to understand just how tense things become! I just hope these ladies are busy writing book four, as ... well, I need it.

I love these characters, flaws and all, and certainly at the beginning, just wanted to knock the guys' heads together. Even they know that communication is key, and yet ... Then again, the book would be shorter if they worked things out too quickly! Hot, loving, maddening, hot, frustrating, enjoyable reading. There is a cord that binds these three together, which stretches and pulls and somehow one can believe that it will eventually settle, until something else comes along and threatens it. One of those books that sucks you in, and definitely a series to add to the read again vault.
