Drive Back to You by CD Rachels Blog Tour

Release Tour. CD Rachels’ Formula Q Book 3. Drive Back to You.

Formula Q is the fastest motorsport in the world. Only the highest-performing athletes can make it to the grid. They drive fast, work hard, and play hard, but off-camera, anything goes.

The public knows me as Daisuke Matsuro, aka ‘Kid Dynamo,’ the rookie driver from Japan. What no one knows is how close I was to one other driver on the grid growing up.

As a teenager, Robesy Robespierre was everything to me. He was my best friend, we were closer than brothers, but I pushed him away. Now, we’re neighbors who race against each other in front of the whole world. I want a second chance more than anything, but he hates my guts.

Over time, though, that old familiar spark returns between us. After a series of unthinkable life changes, Robesy and I become closer than ever. Nothing in my world will ever be the same, but I refuse to move on without earning his forgiveness.

I thought my dream was to be a professional Formula Q driver. Now, though, all I want is to drive back to Robesy. He’s my home, this is our race, and everything is on the line.

Drive Back to You is a male/male motorsports romance novel. It involves best-friends-turned-enemies-turned-lovers, card games, sexual awakenings, rooftop pool dates, a romance that has been ten years in the making, and yes, lots of racing action worldwide. It is book three of a series, has a HEA, and can be read as a standalone.

“You uh… you were baking?” Daisuke points to the dish rag in my lap.

Berto and Hunter still aren’t paying attention as game music blares from the speakers. “No,” I reply. “I was… blowing my nose in this. Boom.” I toss it at his shoulder. “Voila. Now you are sick.”

Daisuke stares at me in shock before his face softens. I frown at him in faux-anger with plenty of real anger laced in there.

Daisuke folds the rag in his lap, seemingly content with this weird olive branch I’ve offered. “Worst Christmas gift ever,” he says.

Before my face can actually crack up, Berto and Hunter turn back to us.

“Hey, so we can play a game while we wait for the cookies to cool,” Berto says.

“Yeah we can…” Hunter pauses and looks between us on the couch. “Did you two meet already?”

“Yes,” I say as Daisuke says, “No.”

I glance at him then add, “We were at your Thanksgiving thing.”

“Right, that’s what you meant,” Daisuke says. “We were… both there.”

Hunter’s blue eyes dart between the two of us. Berto might be naive, but his boyfriend is a perceptive guy; he’s like a counselor or something, and Berto claims he’s the “smartest, coolest guy ever.”

“I read that you two grew up in Montreal,” Hunter says, carefully choosing his words. “Are you guys friends?”

“No,” I say, just as Daisuke says, “Yes.”

We fully rotate to glance at each other. We used to be able to read each other’s minds, and now we’re both in sync, yet completely off at the same time. “We’re not friends… we’re competitors. Because he’s driving for McLuther now.”

“Eh, that’s for the season,” Berto says, picking up cards. “Tonight we’re all mates.” Daisuke looks relieved, but Hunter seems dubious about my response. My former best friend and I are going to need to work things out in order to exist in the same circles.

I brush my nose against his, but he’s still not moving or making any noise. I kiss the left side of his mouth. “You told me you want all of your tomorrows with me, Robesy.” I kiss the right side. “Well, I want all of my tomorrows with you, too.”

This is the third book in this high-octane series, and another very enjoyable read.

For me, the biggest theme in this story is how love is love, and attraction is very much a person thing, rather than necessarily of gender. As 'Dice' joins Formula Q and returns to the ambit of his teenage best friend, 'Roll,' he discovers both what is missing in his life, and the why. As we get both sides of the story, we know that there are some revelations to come, but being in the mind of a man who chose not to even consider bucking his father's will, it is both sad and sweet to watch the light dawn. There is also an important thread about mental health running through this book, which I felt was carefully addressed.

As they navigate their relationship, their families, and their Formula Q fame, these two make for a very appealing couple. A really good round out to the trilogy, with the bonus of meeting up with earlier couples and seeing how life has been moving forward for them too.

Daisuke Matsuro is kissing me, and for the first time, I’m allowing myself to enjoy it. I taste his sweet kiss, guide my tongue into his mouth, and moan into him. Everything I’ve ever dreamed of is right here on this hotel couch, and damn if it wasn’t worth the wait.

Drive to Feel Alive by CD Rachels Blog Tour

Release Tour. CD Rachels’ Formula Q Book 2. Drive to Feel Alive.

Formula Q is the fastest motorsport in the world. Only the highest-performing athletes can make it to the grid. They drive fast, work hard, and play hard, but off-camera, anything goes.

The public knows me as Berto ‘Honeybear’ Navarro, the number two driver in the fastest team in FQ. I’m a simple guy, and I’m perfectly content with my life as a motorsports celebrity. The world doesn’t need to know that I don’t like sex or dating.

I’m not gay like my buddy Damon, but I’m not really straight either. It’s time to face the scary truth: I’m probably asexual.

The only sliver of hope I have is my new friend Hunter. He helps me work through my orientation issues and doesn’t judge me for feeling uneducated and naive. He’s sweet, smart, and generous with his time.

As the weeks go by, Hunter and I get closer, and suddenly intimacy is something I want to explore, but only with him. Hunter makes everything feel right. No one has ever lit a spark in my soul, but now my new best friend makes fireworks go off in my heart.

I thought winning races was the ultimate high and all I needed in life. That was before I touched Hunter—now, I crave so much more. For sex and love, I’ve finally found my green light, and I’m not slowing down.

Drive to Feel Alive is a male/male motorsports romance novel. It involves waffle dates, asexuality, video game conventions, exploring true intimacy for the first time, and yes, lots of racing action worldwide. It is book two of a series, has a HEA, and can be read as a standalone.

It’s this exchange of desires that has my body stiffening and melting all at once. Every fiber of my skin stands on edge. All I can hear is both of our moans intertwining as we taste each other. Nothing has ever felt as good to me as Hunter.

This is the second book in the series, and follows on from the original storyline. You could read it as a standalone, but we do catch up with the Damon and Rocky.

I really enjoy the setting of the world of motorsport. It was a bit confusing to read about some of the team politics and disappointing behaviour, but it probably not far from the truth. Even if Hunter has very little understanding of the sport, he is prepared to enter Berto's world to spend time with him. For Berto, Hunter has not only helped him to start the journey to understand his disinterest in most things sexual, and his lack of connection with people, but he is providing a deep friendship. Hunter is strongly attracted to Berto, but so respectful of his space and I really appreciated how the story developed in a beautifully meaningful way. A partnership and lifelong friendship can definitely be based on more than sexual chemistry.

A very engaging, sporting romance. I am looking forward to the next installment already!

Drive to Thrive by CD Rachels Instagram Tour

Release Tour. CD Rachels’ Formula Q Book 1. Drive to Thrive.

Formula Q is the fastest motorsport in the world. Only the highest-performing athletes can make it to the grid. They drive fast, work hard, and play hard, but off-camera, anything goes.

The public knows me as Damon ‘the Speed Demon’ Davidoff, eligible bachelor and winner of FQ titles around the world. Fans adore me and my team supports me. They don’t need to know I’m so deep in the closet I intend to bury myself there.

Then my poor health catches up to me and my world comes crashing down. I could bounce back easily if it weren’t for one little complication: my male nurse is attractive as hell.

I can suppress these feelings during the season break—I have to. I’m not going to expose my secret just because I feel a fire coursing through my veins when Rocky puts his hands on me.
As the weeks go by, I somehow let Rocky under my skin and into my heart. He’s smart, sweet, and everything I never knew I needed.

I thought I wanted a clean bill of health and to keep winning my races. Now, for the first time in my life, I want so much more. I want him, and damn if that isn’t the scariest thing I’ve ever felt.

Drive to Thrive is a male/male motorsports romance novel. It involves Christmas karaoke, New Year’s Eve parties, Las Vegas swimming pool dates, and yes, lots of racing action worldwide. It is book one of a series, has a HEA, and can be read as a standalone.

I try to hide the affection on my face. “You know, it’s illegal to give your nurse a bribe.”

He rolls his eyes. “Well, it’s not illegal to give my friend a gift. Now open it.”

I reach in and pull out what looks to be a large black box. “What is this?”

“It’s a digital sketching tablet, along with some software for digital art.”

“What?”

“If your PC isn’t compatible, you can return it; I included the receipt. But I was thinking you could start, you know… doing this professionally. Or just practice. Rocky, I know you’re good enough to make online comic art.” I look up at him and see he’s scratching his ear and looking away. “Or, um, you… you don’t have to,” he stutters.

“Damon, this is…” I stare at the hardware in my hand. This would cost me a fortune. “This is too generous!”

“Do you like it?” An odd mixture of hope and fear is in his eyes; it makes me realize how much power I have to hurt him right now, not that I’d want to.

“Damon… I love it. But you shouldn’t have!”

“I wanted to. Because…” He doesn’t finish his sentence. Instead, I fling myself at him and hold him tight. He hugs me back, and it warms me up from the inside out. He smells like hot cocoa and something else entirely—it might be too soon, but he smells like comfort and home.

Before I can pull away, Damon holds me tighter. When he finally lets go, he lightly brushes his lips on my cheek. I’m frozen in shock and feel my heart try to escape my chest. “Well, goodnight.” He quickly gets in his car and speeds away.

I put my hand on my cheek and feel the ghost of his kiss. I don’t know what it meant or what’s going on in Damon’s head. All I know is this Christmas, everything has shifted between him and me. It’s like there’s no solid ground when I’m around Damon Davidoff—just me, floating and falling all at once.

3.5 stars rounded up

This is a very enjoyable read – but if you were hoping for lots of motor sport content, then you might be disappointed. It centres very much around Damon, a very successful driver, who has a health condition he previously kept under wraps. As an aside, as a medical drama fan, I did find that side of things fascinating!

Spending the off season recovering, thanks in no small part to a delicious nurse called Rocky, Damon has to decide whether he wants personal happiness at the potential loss of his professional success – ideally, he wants it all! Inevitably, he worries that strike one from bad health, followed by strike two, revealing he is gay, may end a career that has years to run.

I loved Rocky's family pitching in and making Damon feel normal and included. And whilst he was conflicted, he was also finally seeing that he could maybe be everything he wanted to be with the support of the right partner.

I will definitely look out for the next installment.

“Rocky…” He leans in and kisses me. I drag my fingers up and down his perfect body. He squirms but his lips never leave my mouth. “I’ve been dreaming about this.” “Then let’s get you in the shower and make those dreams come true.”

My heart wants to soar whenever Rocky says he’s on his way. Being with him feels fantastic. He gives me the strength to push away all the negativity from the outside world. I want to keep us in this bubble where we get to have fun and be a real couple. When we’re together, my face almost hurts from smiling so much. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy.
