Confessing
feelings for your best friend takes being tongue-tied to a whole new level.
AUSTIN
Dex has always been my best friend, so it’s no surprise that we attend Franklin
U together. We’re complete opposites. Dex is charismatic and outgoing. Me?
Let’s just say I wish I could infuse some of his confidence into my veins.
Making friends is hard enough, but trying to meet guys? Even with Dex’s help?
I’m useless. Maybe it’s because Dex is all about hooking up, but I want my
first time to be straight out of the pages of the romance novels I read.
DEX
After a string of mishaps, I swore off helping Austin land guys. But when he
asks me to show him the ropes with practice sessions, I get the feeling he’s
desperate. Our dates are pretend, so why am I getting so into them? I want to
make Austin happy, but the line between friendship and something more is
getting really damned blurry. The fluttery feeling, that electric energy every
time we touch… it’s addicting. I’m getting overprotective, not only of my time
with Austin, but with douchebags who might break his heart.
Eventually, the pretending has to end so Austin can strike out on his own. But
how do I tell him I’m not ready to let him go, when every attempt at confessing
leaves me tongue-tied?

Tongue Tied is the sixth installment in the Franklin U 2 series.
Franklin U 2 is a multi-author series of standalones that can be read in any
order but do read best in the order that the authors intended.
Dex and Austin are best friends and have been since they were little. When they
end up at Franklin U, of course they room together until Dex moves into the
Poli house. Dex is the outgoing, personable person. He knows everyone and
interacts with everyone he sees. Austin is the exact opposite. He's the
introvert who loves to read and wouldn't go out unless Dex dragged him out with
him. When Austin finds someone attractive, he gets super nervous and tongue
tied. He's awkward but so adorable. All Dex wants is for Austin to be happy.
When Dex suggests fake dating so Dex can show Austin it’s not as hard as he
thinks, the lines get blurred between them. When the fake pretend dates and
texts turn into more, Dex knows he isn't relationship material and all he wants
is a hookup and Austin can only see a relationship in his future. Can they
change what they thought they knew about relationships and each other?
I am a huge fan of friends-to-lovers and this one was done so well. Austin and
Dex have so much chemistry that everyone else can pick up on, except for the
two of them. I loved when they finally opened their eyes to the possibility of
being together and, of course, no one else batted an eye. Such a fun read. I
can't wait for more from this series!

This book is part of a series but I haven't read any of the previous books and
I felt like it stood okay as a standalone.
Austin and Dex are friends, roommates at first, and polar opposites. Austin is
super shy and is more an “at home reading a book” type person. Dex is heavily
involved with school and has many friends. When Dex moves out of their dorm
Austin seeks his help to meet guys.
I love the friends-to-lovers trope. I love when one pines for the other and the
other is clueless and then they get the best happily ever after. I was so
excited to read this book. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I didn't feel
like Austin and Dex would really be friends and I didn't feel any chemistry.
Then all the side stuff with Dex and school, I just felt it was filler for the
book and didn't add to anything. I got bored and ended up skimming a lot.
I wanted to root for Austin and Dex. I loved Austin. I didn't like it when Dex
tried to help Austin meet people, that Austin usually ended up feeling worse. I
just wanted to hug Austin. This book didn't work for me but I'm sure there will
be others that it works for.

upon a time, CHRISTINA LEE was a wardrobe stylist in New York City. She spent
her days schlepping clothes, hailing cabs, and on the hunt for the perfect lip
gloss, which became a bit of an addiction—along with books and coffee. You
could always find her perched in a corner booth of a favorite diner sipping a
dark roast and reading.
She currently lives in the Midwest with her husband and kiddo—her two favorite
people in the world. She’s been a clinical social worker and a special
education teacher and while very rewarding, they still didn’t feel like an
exact fit. It wasn’t until she began writing a weekly column for the local
newspaper that the bells went off in her head. She could finally draw from her
real-life experiences and vivid imagination to write fiction—and she’s never looked
back.
Christina writes romance in different sub-genres, but mostly with LGBTQ
characters because representation matters and everyone deserves a
happily-ever-after.
