GRIFF
Walking away from my marriage was my idea of a fresh start.
My kid is in college, my ex-wife and I are on good terms… but being single in
my forties is a world different to being single in my teens.
I’m thankful for my best friend, Heath. He’s got my back like he always does
and is ready to take me out and show me how the bachelor life is done.
He was never supposed to show me literally.
After we wake up in bed together, I can’t stop looking at him differently, and
one thing becomes abundantly clear.
I talk a big talk about wanting to be single, but my platonic rulebook has gone
out the window.
HEATH
When my best friend comes to me for help post-divorce, I’m only too happy to
impart my wisdom to him.
After all, Griffin isn’t my type, but even I can tell he’s a complete lumbersnack.
Good with his hands, kind eyes, and a killer smile. All the guys and gals are
gonna eat him alive.
But the more time we spend together, the less “not my type” he becomes. I’m
the one who can’t get enough of him.
Neither of us is interested in a relationship, so what’s a little fun between
friends?
We both know the score.

Platonic Rulebook is the second installment of the Divorced Men's Club
(DMC) series. It can be read as a standalone but reads better in the order the
author intended.
Griff has been waiting for his son to go off to college to have the fresh start
that's been coming for years. Griff and Poppy love each other but know the
marriage is over. They agree to wait until their son, Felix, is in college to
get divorced. Griff has known he's bisexual most of his life and was okay not
exploring that side of himself until getting this fresh start and being with a
man is all he can think of. But it's been almost twenty years since he's dated
and a while since he's had sex. He feels so out of his element and so
unprepared to start this part of his life he turns to his best friend, Heath,
and the men of the DMC for advice.
Heath has always been in Griff's corner. They've been best friends for years
and he'd do whatever he could be make Griff happy. Heath and Griff work
together at the motel he and Poppy own together. With Poppy stepping away from
the business, it puts Griff and Heath in an even closer situation. While trying
to help Griff with his dating issues and business, Heath can't help but fall
for his best friend. When the sexual tension between them is too much, they
know where they stand and nothing with ruin their friendship. Or does one night
change everything they thought they knew?
I loved everything about this read. Nothing reads better than friends to lovers
and Saxon James writes this one spectacularly! The chemistry between Heath and
Griff builds with every page until it can't be contained. I love the DMC and
the friendship that exists between these men. I can't wait to see what's next
for them.

I'm usually not one to read friends-to-lover stories a lot, but the blurb
touched home for me since I'm recently divorced and in my forties. Griff and
Heath are best friends. When Griff divorces, Heath helps him navigate life
again. This was a sweet, passion-filled, low-angst story that just made my
heart melt. These two guys were perfect for each other, and I loved going on
their journey with them.
