Forgotten Romance by Saxon James Blog Tour

I have twelve weeks to remind Davey our life together was perfect. And hope like hell that this time, he chooses me.

DAVEY

In a list of what’s most important to me, three things are right up there at the top. My kids, my husband Mack, and my career I’ve spent my life building. Unfortunately that career has me away from home more than I'd like, and when I refuse to walk away from it, my husband walks away from me instead.

Living together post-divorce makes sense for us, but it blurs the lines between what we were and what we have. Now that I’ve scored a big promotion and negotiated twelve long weeks at home, memories of our life together haunt me. They make me long for what we had. And now that Mack is moving on with someone else, I’m being faced with the cold truth. I should never have let Mack go, and now it might be too late to get him back.

MACK

Twelve weeks. It’s the longest Davey has been home since we had the kids, and all it does is remind me of everything I wish I still had. So I decide this is it. I have twelve weeks to remind Davey of everything he lost and hope like hell when I give him the choice between work and me again, that this time he chooses me.

None of my friends are on board with my plan, and the new guy in town is trying his hardest to win me over. But I can ignore cute notes slipped into my favorite books if it means getting back the man I’ll love forever.

All I need to do is remind him our life together was perfect.

Now if only our kids, our friends, and his work would get the memo…

Prepare for the final book in the Divorced Men's Club series! This low-angst, M/M romance is between a himbo and his workaholic ex-husband. It has festive fun, no love triangles or cheating, and a swoony Happily Ever After to end the series on a high.

I’m happy living in my own bubble of la-la-land and would really like it if people could stop throwing reality at me. Reality sucks. Zero rating out of ten. Where are the mystical unicorns of possibility? Oh, that’s right, they DIED. Just straight up smother me in delulu, thank you.

This is the sixth and final book in the series – and not only does it give us a really lovely story to end on, but it also makes sure that the rest of the couples take part in the mission to give these two guys a second chance.

Mack and Davey divorced mostly because Mack forced Davey to choose between his career and his family. Davey chose his career, because that is how he believed he brought value to their family. Neither were happy about it, and when Davey is not at work, he spends it in the spare room of their family home, so he can still see their children. This time he also sees Mack go out on a date... spurring him to think about whether he can really live without him!

With some help, and some non-help from Art in particular, the two men separately try and get help from their mutual friends to make the other see that they should be together. It is a square that needs to be circled, and yet it takes some home truths for them both to understand what changes could be needed to get a fresh start.

I really enjoyed the humour which is brought by the chat groups, the passion which spills over even when they are trying to be sensible, and the clear evidence that they love each other, but communicate poorly.

Very enjoyable end to the series, thank you, Saxon James – already looking forward to the next one!

I struggle with how many stars to rate this book. I have been soooo excited for this last book. If you've read previous books in the series, you have been waiting patiently to see if Mack and Davey get back together. We all know this is a second-chance book and we all want them to get back together. But what I personally didn't want was to rehash the same stuff over and over and over again the first sixty percent of the book. It was tiring, frustrating, and I just wanted someone in the DMC to stick Mack and Davey in a room and say hash this out and don't come out until you do.

My heart did break for both Davey and Mack. You can tell they both still love each other and they both want to be together. But instead of being adults and talking things out, they both had ideas on how to get the other back and things just spun in a circle too long in the book. One simple, honest conversation could have spared them and the reader all the BS.

I did like how Mack was finally able to wake up and figure out he needed to work on himself. Mack was a mess, who throws out divorce as an option and then doesn't say wait I really don't want one but I'm serious about things needing to change? Two years of being miserable for not being able to communicate.

When Davey and Mack both got their heads out of their butts and finally admitted what each were feeling and wanted, the book got much better. They were both still not communicating like they should since they were both still thinking of ways to solve things but not hashing it out with each other.

In the end it all worked out. We got a good epilogue on them and the other DMC members. I hate that the series is over and that the last book didn't go out with a bang but I hope a new series is in the works.

Forgotten Romance is the sixth and final installment in the Divorced Men's Club.

Davey and Mack are ending their marriage in the beginning of the book. They loved each other more than anything, but at that time in their marriage they both needed different things that they weren't getting from the other. Davey was the sole provider and his work had him leaving for two weeks at a time. Mack was home with two small children alone. Mack felt Davey was putting his work over their family and Mack just wanted him to be there for the family more. Davey worked hard to be where he was in his job. He was working so hard to make a wonderful life for his family, but at what cost? When Mack said they should divorce, he didn't truly want that and Davey would do anything (but leave his job) to make Mack happy, so he agreed. Mack needed Davey to choose the family and when he didn't, Mack was devastated. They agreed that to make it easier for the kids, they would continue to live together when Davey was home for those two weeks each month.

Davey and Mack don't want to go on like they are. They each want to show the other they want their relationship back and enlist the rest of the DMC to help. Honestly, the book could have been completed with one simple conversation, but I loved how it all played out. I have been rooting for these two since the beginning, they so deserved their happily ever after. I enjoyed getting to see the rest of the DMC and their partners in this final book. I'm sad to see it's over but I truly enjoyed the ride to get here.

System Overload by Saxon James Blog Tour

When it comes to Keller… it’s impossible for me to walk away. Kindle Unlimited.

KELLER

Banging my son’s bestie was a total accident that will never, ever happen again. I’m sure of it.

While he might be gorgeous and caught me in a weak moment, when it comes right down to it, my son has been my entire life for the last twenty-six years. I don’t know how to be anything other than his dad.

But with Molly heading off to Seattle, he leaves me with a parting gift: Will.

His best friend.

And my new roommate.

Still, I’m determined to focus on my plan of finding someone to settle down with and to start living for me.

Then Molly hits me with another gift: he’s asked Will to help find me the perfect partner.

WILL

Molly leaving me to run away across the country made one thing very obvious. I crave stability. I crave a life where I get to control what happens to me, without the constant threat of having to move home to my homophobic family.

All I need to focus on is work and making enough money for the downpayment on my own place.

Except now I’m living in the spare bedroom of the man I’ve been in love with for years.

The same bedroom where we had one very messy, very quick, accidental frot sesh.

Now I’m cooking for him every night, and we’re working out together every morning. It’s all feeling very domestic and my heart can’t separate reality from the fantasies in my head.

I know I’m going to get hurt.

It’s only a matter of time.

But when it comes to Keller, it’s impossible for me to walk away.

System Overload is the fifth book in the Divorced Men's Club. It can be read as a standalone, but it reads so much better if you read what has come before it to get the full impact of these characters.

System Overload is so full of angst and want. I loved everything about it.

Keller was a teenage dad. It's not something he wanted but he stepped up and was the best father he could be to Molly. Molly is facing his own life crisis, and moving across the country to Seattle will leave his best friend, Will, and his dad, Keller, alone. Molly's way to help them both is Will moving in with Keller. Unknown to Molly, Will has been in love with Keller for eight years and after one drunken night neither talk about, Will is hesitant but so excited.

Keller has been in dad mode for years always putting Molly first and now with Molly moving, Keller knows it's his turn for happiness. But everywhere he looks he isn't interested except Will. Something about Will draws him in. He loves spending time with him, and Keller knows touching can't happen, BUT oh, the loopholes they find to work around that. Loopholes, and a little help from the Divorced Men's Club, brings these two men happiness they never thought they'd find, but will it last? What will Molly think about his best friend and his dad being involved?

I read this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen between these sweet men. Their chemistry is everything. And as always, the Divorced Men’s Club makes everything so fun with their "help," I can't wait for what's next for this group. I can't wait to get Mack's story!

4.5 stars

I love this series. I couldn't wait to read this book, as soon as it hit my e-reader I jumped in. If you have read the series, you know who Keller and Will are. You know that Will has been crushing on Keller forever but will never do anything because Keller is his best friend Molly's dad. I loved how the relationship built between Will and Keller, it wasn't instant, it built slowly. Sometimes too slowly, LOL. I also loved seeing the other characters from the other books, this is a great group of guys!! When Will and Keller finally give in, things are even hotter! My only disappointment was when they actually went to tell Molly. Molly's reaction wasn't what Will and Keller were expecting, BUT I wanted to know more about what Molly really thought. He had a different scenario in his head, and I wanted to know a touch more about that and why he felt that way and it was kind of skimmed over. I am patiently waiting for Mack's book. I have a feeling it'll be a good one!

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the fifth book in the series, and series readers will enjoy catching up with earlier relationships, and know both Keller and Will already.

Keller has brought his son up since he became a dad at 16, so the age gap between him and his son Molly's best friend, Will, is not all that great. So even though there is the discomfort in their minds, and Keller's habit of reminding him regularly of him being Molly's best friend drives Will crazy, it is clear that they are both very attracted to each other.

Thankfully their mutual friends have some fun making sure that Keller gives them a chance and realises that Will is exactly the man he wants long term. They certainly turn up the heat even before they get together, and there is no stopping them once they do!

I really enjoyed this latest installment, thank you, Saxon James!

Employing Patience by Saxon James Blog Tour

I’ve never had regrets... Not until Joey Manning.

ART

When it comes to regrets, I have none. My life is perfect. I own a bar, work hard, party harder, and smother my niblings in all the love they deserve. I don’t need to settle down, as much as my sister might want me to.

But then Joey Manning walks into my office and leaves me all but begging to give him a job… and wanting to give him so much more.

The self-professed straight man is in my head and while I know that I need to move on from him, my body isn’t getting that message. It doesn’t help that Joey is a grade A flirt who can banter with the best of them.

I’ve never had regrets. Not until Joey Manning.

JOEY

The bills keep piling up and the pressure to get my sisters through college before we’re evicted is always on the back of my mind. Whoever said life was for living, clearly forgot that living’s expensive.

My default mode is stressed AF and working myself to the bone, and there’s only one person who gives me a break from all that.

Art de Almeida.

My boss.

The one man I shouldn’t flirt with, but I can’t seem to stop. I want to get under his skin. To leave him panting for me. Which wouldn’t be such a bad thing except that he thinks I’m straight, and I’ve never bothered to correct him.

I need this job.

But some days I worry that I need Art more.

Employing Patience is a low angst, small town, employer/employee romance. It has a ridiculous found family, prince charming costumes, and the king of anti-commitment falling hard.

Employing Patience is the fourth installment in the Divorced Men's Club. It can be read as a standalone, but I don't recommend it seeing as you will miss the first three, which are all must reads!!

Art is the player of the group. He never really lets anyone see what's under the surface. Art doesn't do repeats and keeps his calendar busy. He's the one who takes care of everyone else. When Joey walks into the bar looking for a job, Art knows he should turn him away. He says he's straight, but boy does he like to flirt with Art, which could be dangerous for Art when he finds himself falling for the straight bartender.

Joey has guardianship of his two younger sisters, with that the bills are piling up. When he goes into Art's office, he sees Art's interest (or irritation) and knows he needs this job but flirting with the boss does things to him he never expected. Joey says he's straight but something about Art draws Joey in, in ways he never expected or saw coming.

I loved getting to see a vulnerable side to Art. He's always the rock and protector of his friends but to see him let someone in is so sweet. Art and Joey were so sweet together, but their banter was on point. I always love getting to see the men from the DMC. I can't wait for what's next with this group!!

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the fourth book in the series – and it is lovely to see how early couples are living their best lives, but you could read this as a standalone and still really enjoy the story.

Art is a good guy, with a successful family business, and a secret benefactor identity. He is persuaded by the very handsome (but straight) Joey to give him a bar job. Little does he realise that Joey is working to keep his sisters in school, and trying to get his high school studies finished, years after he had to leave school. In fact, Art really doesn't want to be involved in Joey's life at all... his attraction to him is strong, yet pointless.

Joey cannot take on anymore, so when he is attracted to Art, he has to deny them both, he would crack.

Obviously they are not as good at this ignoring game, or the story would be very short... instead these two are super chilled and to say they are patient would be a lie, but they certainly choose to play the long game. I rather liked their building intensity, and yet their level of control at holding back the feelings which are growing. Not often do we have to be patient too, but it is definitely worth it!

A very enjoyable read about a pair of good guys, from completely different backgrounds and outlooks, but bound by love and chemistry!

Angie – ☆☆☆☆
This is part of a series but you can definitely read it as a standalone. I've only read one other book in the series, and I had no problem following along. I enjoyed this book solely because of the banter and flirting between Art and Joey, that just made me smile the whole way through. Art is your typical one and done kind of guy while Joey has a ton of stuff to deal with in his life. I loved watching their relationship evolve and seeing them finally getting that happily ever after.

Platonic Rulebook by Saxon James Blog Tour

I talk a big talk about wanting to be single, but my platonic rule book has gone out the window.

GRIFF

Walking away from my marriage was my idea of a fresh start.

My kid is in college, my ex-wife and I are on good terms… but being single in my forties is a world different to being single in my teens.

I’m thankful for my best friend, Heath. He’s got my back like he always does and is ready to take me out and show me how the bachelor life is done.

He was never supposed to show me literally.

After we wake up in bed together, I can’t stop looking at him differently, and one thing becomes abundantly clear.

I talk a big talk about wanting to be single, but my platonic rulebook has gone out the window.

HEATH

When my best friend comes to me for help post-divorce, I’m only too happy to impart my wisdom to him.

After all, Griffin isn’t my type, but even I can tell he’s a complete lumbersnack. Good with his hands, kind eyes, and a killer smile. All the guys and gals are gonna eat him alive.

But the more time we spend together, the less “not my type” he becomes. I’m the one who can’t get enough of him.

Neither of us is interested in a relationship, so what’s a little fun between friends?

We both know the score.

Platonic Rulebook is the second installment of the Divorced Men's Club (DMC) series. It can be read as a standalone but reads better in the order the author intended.

Griff has been waiting for his son to go off to college to have the fresh start that's been coming for years. Griff and Poppy love each other but know the marriage is over. They agree to wait until their son, Felix, is in college to get divorced. Griff has known he's bisexual most of his life and was okay not exploring that side of himself until getting this fresh start and being with a man is all he can think of. But it's been almost twenty years since he's dated and a while since he's had sex. He feels so out of his element and so unprepared to start this part of his life he turns to his best friend, Heath, and the men of the DMC for advice.

Heath has always been in Griff's corner. They've been best friends for years and he'd do whatever he could be make Griff happy. Heath and Griff work together at the motel he and Poppy own together. With Poppy stepping away from the business, it puts Griff and Heath in an even closer situation. While trying to help Griff with his dating issues and business, Heath can't help but fall for his best friend. When the sexual tension between them is too much, they know where they stand and nothing with ruin their friendship. Or does one night change everything they thought they knew?

I loved everything about this read. Nothing reads better than friends to lovers and Saxon James writes this one spectacularly! The chemistry between Heath and Griff builds with every page until it can't be contained. I love the DMC and the friendship that exists between these men. I can't wait to see what's next for them.

I'm usually not one to read friends-to-lover stories a lot, but the blurb touched home for me since I'm recently divorced and in my forties. Griff and Heath are best friends. When Griff divorces, Heath helps him navigate life again. This was a sweet, passion-filled, low-angst story that just made my heart melt. These two guys were perfect for each other, and I loved going on their journey with them.
