The Cost of Honor by Diana Muñoz Stewart

He gave up everything to escape his family

The only male to be adopted into the notorious Parish family, Tony Parish always did right by his vigilante sisters. But when an attempt to protect one of them went horribly wrong, he had to fake his own death to escape his fanatical family. Tony set sail and ended up in Dominica—face to face with the woman of his dreams...

Now he must give up Honor to save her

After the death of her mother, Honor Silva moved to Dominica, where her family could help her heal and move on. But her activist mother left her more than money, she left her proof that could take down one of the richest and most powerful men in the world.

Tony gave up everything he thought he knew when he fled his family. But when a threat too dangerous for Tony and Honor to fight on their own closes in, he has no choice but to go to them for help. Problem is, they'll demand something in return—something that could cost Tony not just Honor, but also the love that changed him forever.

This is Tony's story. I was excited to see his story because he was always trying to get everyone to follow the rules. But when something goes wrong, Tony doesn't have a choice. He has to fake his own death in order to escape his family.

Honor is trying to get her business to stay afloat. When a strange offer to buy her business, her mom's brand, and her property comes in, Honor isn't sure what's going to happen. But when things start to go wrong with her business and her life is put at risk a few times, she knows that something is amiss with the offer. Plus, with the people around her trying to keep her the naive girl she grew up as, she isn't sure who she can trust.

Laz aka Tony is just trying to live his new life. But when he's rescued by Honor, he can't help but be a little smitten. She's beautiful, strong, and says what she's thinking. Tony grew up around strong women, so he knows that Honor is just as special. Tony knows how to protect Honor, but he'll have to decide if protecting her is worth his memories.

This was fast paced, had more of a romance component than the other stories, and was overall a really well-developed story. I did feel that the ending was somewhat rushed though. There was all of this work put into the buildup of their relationship but in the end, it didn't really end in a well-planned manner. And while it didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the book, it did make me somewhat sad to not like Tony's ending.
