You must read Havoc first, this is the final installment of the duet. This book picked up right where Havoc left off. I will have to say I liked this book better than the first one. Keyes and Alec have off-the-hart chemistry and I am so glad they got their happily ever after. We learn more about Keyes and Alec, and fall more in love with them and their story. Just like real life, there were ups and downs but it was worth it all in the end. Great duet.

A declaration of love from Alec has Keyes confused. In the first half of this book we spend a lot of time with Alec and Keyes as they deal with their relationship issues and have copious amounts of sex. All the while the men are having to keep their relationship secret because if the Havoc MC find out Keyes is dating an Assistant DA both their lives will be in danger.

The external forces surrounding Alec and Keyes very slowly build up over time. While I was getting impatient waiting for things to happen and rolling my eyes because they were having sex again, I was also becoming more and more invested in the characters and their relationship. When the external forces in their lives do blow up in the last 20% or so of the book, I was so emotional. I didn’t want anything to hurt Alec and Keyes and get in the way of their happiness.

I confess that because the big action and story is left to the end of the book, I was starting to worry that we’d run out of book before the issues could be resolved. I need not have worried because the ending is wonderful and pretty clever too.

I love Alec and Keyes’ romance. It shows the harder you have to work for something, the sweeter it is when you get it. Now one last thing – was I the only one that wondered if Dev and Blaine might hit it off? Will they maybe get a story in the future? Maybe I’m seeing something that wasn’t there and I just want to spend more time in this world.

Order is the second book in the Tattoos and Ties Duet. Order digs deeper into the relationship between Keyes and Alec. Book one, Havoc, should be read first to completely enjoy the storyline.

What started as a one-night stand after Keyes helped Alec when he was stranded on the side of the road has turned into an unlikely relationship that scares Keyes. Keyes being a member of Disciples of Havoc lands him on the wrong side of the law while Alec is an ADA with a boss who wants nothing more than to bring down the Disciples of Havoc. How can this thing between them go anywhere? When evidence comes across Alec's desk, he's hellbent on protecting Keyes and their future, but will it be enough?

Kindle Alexander gives you the ending you crave in this duet. With so many differences between them, the chemistry between Alec and Keyes is off the charts. I loved seeing these characters within that bubble when they could love how they wanted.

Very good read!

This is book two of a duet, and you most definitely need to read them in order, I am rarely so certain, but this absolutely needs part one read first. In fact, if you have a short memory or the time to reread Havoc, then do so, you will not regret it.

Alec is so in love with Keyes, but just cannot think how to tell him without it building barriers between them – and he will do anything to keep them together… until he just can’t help say it out loud. It is one of those moments when I could hardly draw breath, panicking at the fall out. Thanks to us getting both sides of the story, we can understand why Keyes is reluctant to accept anything so good could be happening to him, nor his expectation that it will all come crumbling down. Luckily, Alec is wise to this, and although he most definitely makes mistakes, his heart is always on Keyes, his life’s prize.

As we see just how both their fathers treat them, it is easy to see how much damage has been inflicted upon them, and how they find solace, happiness, and love together. It is both super hot and wonderfully romantic – in a hard biker kind of way when it comes to Keyes!

The side characters are also very important and give the depth to the story that is needed when two guys are so clearly perfect for each other – just all the mess going on outside that is a problem. So, Uncle Clyde, Janice, Dev, and even Blaine provide important insights and cooling off space when things get tense. Obviously, a big shout out to Nash too… awww.

I loved it from start to finish, although I was nervous of reading at times, as so much could, and nearly did, go wrong. The ending was perfect, although I could happily have read on and on – even if all they did was… well, you know !

As an aside – The only thing I was left curious about was the supposed “allowance” that both Alec’s parents mentioned, but clearly did not exist – I thought something was going to come from that… but obviously not!

3.5 stars

Alec and Keyes’ second book follows their slow, reluctant slide from hook-up to relationship. Alec is sold on domesticity before Keyes and his plot to win Keyes’ heart is very sweet – but it also confuses poor Keyes. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. There’s a bit more action, a lot more romance, and the characters feel more real to me.

Like the first book, this is a slow read. Keyes has been hurt too many times. He refuses to trust Alec and he refuses to invest in their relationship. Except he does. He’s a wonderful, loveable, and infuriating character. I found his club more frustrating with each chapter and I love that his dad enjoyed a long, slow, and painful death. Alec is a little bit more proactive but he’s afraid of scaring Keyes off. I loved Alec's grand gestures and I love the way both Alec and Keyes try to protect each other. But I hate how their relationship keeps going round in circles and the way the two men kinda dance around each other for much of the story is truly irritating.

It’s only in the last third that this book finally gets properly exciting. I can’t help feeling that these two books could have been edited into one slightly more exciting book with a little less circular relationship angst and a little more action. But the last third of this book is full of action and heartache and I loved the ending.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.
