Angela☆☆☆☆
I am not the least bit ashamed to admit that I have wanted to read this novella from the very moment I saw the cover. Seriously, that is one hot cover. Thankfully, the story is just as hot, but it also has a good dose of angst and a sweet romance that made it an extremely enjoyable read for me.

One of the things that makes the romance in Lace work is that Shawn and Dave have been friends for years and Shawn has secretly crushed on his best friend for most of that time. This built-in history and the closeness that is evident between the two makes the transition from friends to more convincing – especially in light of Dave’s confession and his discovery of Shawn’s secret. The connection between the two and Dave’s response to Shawn’s lace made the skyrocketing heat between them believable. It’s also what made each man’s fear to speak up and their continued miscommunications and absolute failure to communicate realistic – with both men afraid to ruin such an important friendship, they misstep repeatedly in their new dance. Fortunately, Wells is in the business of romance and happily ever afters and the men of Lace are no exception, eventually finding their way to their happy ending… and getting a few along the way. 😉

While I enjoyed Lace, I will say that I was surprised when Dave revealed Shawn’s secret to Jake after Jake stepped in to keep Dave from hurting himself. That just felt like a violation of Shawn’s trust to me, especially to someone who had spoken unkindly about Shawn earlier in the story. Fortunately, Jake proved to be just the objective perspective Dave needed to get his head on straight (no pun intended). There is only one thing that could have made Lace better… pictures! It seems that Dave isn’t the only one who enjoys men in lace. So if, like me, the cover catches your eye and stokes your attention, don’t be afraid to peek inside because you just might find what you’re looking for.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter…

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer…
