Imagines by N.R. Walker Blog Tour

Imagines is the Latin plural for Imago, and the only thing better than one metamorphosis, is two.

Jack Brighton and Lawson Gale have been together for six months and are very much in love. Lawson’s work ensuring the survival of the Tillman Copper is as demanding as ever, and Jack’s work with the regeneration of the bushfire-ravaged national park is just as hectic.

When Jack suggests they take a short trip, Lawson agrees. But then he is offered a two-week research position in tropical Queensland to help determine why the Ulysses butterfly is on the decline. Figuring they could combine work and pleasure, Jack and Lawson go on their first vacation together.

Working alongside renowned professor Piers Bonfils isn’t easy. But personal and professional differences aside, Lawson is offered a more permanent role in Queensland. Torn between his new life in Tasmania with Jack and a dying species of butterfly he feels compelled to save, Lawson has to decide where his fate lies.

But fate changes the rules. On a research expedition into the depths of the rainforest, suddenly it's not only the butterflies’ existence that hangs in the balance.

A butterfly’s life cycle never changes. From larvae to imago, their course is plotted by design. Jack and Lawson need to determine where they stand, if they live through it. Because the only thing more incredible than one imago is two.

It is six months since we left them and Lawson and Jack go to Cairns so that Jack can holiday while Lawson works to determine why the Ulysses butterfly is dying.

It was so wonderful to be spending more time with Jack and Lawson. They are very much in love, but Lawson insists on them living apart but Jacks wants them to live together.

Imagines is so easy to read and is a lovely story. Enough drama to keep my interest, but none of it over the top. I loved following a couple who clearly love each other, but still have issues and work together to overcome them. Imagines is a beautiful story.

This is such a happy love story! After six months together, Jack and Lawson’s first holiday together becomes a working holiday at a butterfly sanctuary in Queensland. The impossibly sweet connection between the uptight scientist and his wonderful park ranger continues in this second book where Lawson and Jack once again combine their skill sets to save another endangered butterfly species.

Lawson really comes into himself in this story. I love his need for rigid structure and his slightly Asperger’s-ish moments are as endearing as they are comical. In contrast, Jack is happy and easygoing but a little bored spending his days at the beach while Lawson works. After six months together, these two have learned how to make each other stronger.

Jack and Lawson enjoy a very, very sweetly romantic relationship. Just as it was getting a little too sappy for me, the sweetness was balanced by Lawson’s cold science and the excitement of the wilderness survival scenes. The ending still made my teeth ache, but there is enough grit and excitement in this story to temper some of the cute/adorable moments.

This author should be writing Australian tourist brochures. Her tropical Queensland is just as wonderful as the more rugged Tasmania in the first book. I love the setting almost as much as I love Jack and Lawson.

This needs to be read as a sequel to Imago. Together, these two books tell a very sweet, romantic story. I can’t imagine the research that went into these books, but I thoroughly appreciate the end result. Beyond the romance, the science and adventure stories are wonderful.

Once again, my heart just melted over this couple. Jack and Lawson are so wonderful together and so perfect for each other. Another assignment takes Lawson to Queensland to help determine why the Ulysses butterfly is on the decline, instead of the two-week vacation with Jack, but Lawson wants Jack with him (squeeze). I am fascinated with the butterfly aspect as well as the love story. I read this story in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. There was a little drama/angst, but heavy on the love and hot steamy sex.

I really enjoyed Imago, book one in the series, so was delighted to read this sequel. Do read them in order, as this is the next installment in Jack and Lawson's story.

Lawson is a rather unworldly butterfly specialist, who made a wonderful discovery at the end of the last book, but in the process, nearly lost his life. Jack, park ranger, saved his life then, cemented their relationship, and they have been together ever since. Now they take up an opportunity to combine work with vacation in Cairns. Their relationship is as strong as ever, but once again, danger comes calling.

I loved the butterfly dramas, but even more the romance between these two men, who are unexpectedly so perfectly suited. Their times together are full of love, passion, and humour. Every page is a delight to read, and I loved Lawson's family, especially his mum, and of course Rosemary, Remmy, and Nico.

What a perfect ending, thank you Ms. Walker.

She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love. She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.

She’s been writing ever since…
