Making the Play by Megan Slayer

Sometimes switching things up really does mean getting the guy.

Allan Clark thought his life as a wide receiver for the Wildcats was over the moment he was told he’d be the new punt returner. He’d thought he didn’t want to be a special teams player. He’d rather have the limelight. Once he starts returning punts, he realizes this was where he should’ve been all along. Speaking of perks, he now gets to spend time with the sexy kicker, Tyler Leigh. Maybe this switch is the best thing that could’ve happened to him.

Unlike Allan, Tyler isn’t planning on going into the draft or playing football for the rest of his life. He’s got other plans, but a side trip with Allan in the sheets isn’t off of his radar. He’s wanted Allan since he joined the team. But Tyler’s got baggage and an overzealous ex-boyfriend hell bent on making his life miserable. With Allan, he sees a bright spot.

Will these two seemingly opposites leave their desires on the field or will they find common ground together and score?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of masturbation and implied abuse.

I am a big fan of sports romances, so was looking forward to this new story. I have also read many of Ms. Slayer's books and enjoyed them. SO, I was very pleased to get a chance to read and review this book.

The quantity of sport was not excessive, but it was interesting to be looking at the lesser roles and seeing it from the college perspective – rather than the often used QB. I did like Allan and could only feel for Tyler, who was in a horrible situation. Things between them developed very swiftly, and whilst I recognised that it was the end of their time at college, so things would move quickly, but I am not a big fan of insta-love, so I was at a disadvantage here.

This was a cute, quick read with a happily ever after.

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite—on command.

She also writes under the name of Wendi Zwaduk.
