Having read the first story and enjoyed it, I was delighted to get to read more of Ms. Carter's engaging series. And it was well worth the wait.
We get to see the stars of book one, in a peripheral role, although the incidents that led to their encounter undoubtedly still linger in the town of Destiny. The difficult line of legality in the club faced by best friends Givon and North is definitely tested in this book – but family, in whatever form takes precedence. We learn about their and Allison's pasts, and then they aim for a much better future. Their forays into a new relationship are definitely on the higher scale of hot. The plot is always in the foreground too, and the next book will be revealing on that front, given the epilogue.
Can't wait to find out...

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers.
