You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti

New York Times Bestselling Author Rebecca Zanetti. You Can Run.

Fans of Lauran Griffin and Lisa Jackson won’t want to miss this brand new thriller series by New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti, as FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow, a rising star profiler, strives to stay one step ahead of the criminal mind—and discovers that her own demons may be the hardest to outrun…

Laurel Snow wouldn’t call hunting a serial killer a vacation, but with a pile of dead bodies unearthed near her Genesis Valley, WA, hometown, she’ll take what she can get. Yet something about this case stirs her in unexpected ways. Like the startling connection she feels to Dr. Abigail Caine, a fiercely intelligent witness with a disturbing knack for making Laurel feel like she has something on her. Then there’s Laurel’s attraction to Huck Rivers, the fish and wildlife officer guiding her to the crime scene—and into the wilderness…

A former soldier and a trained sniper, Huck’s thirst for blood is rivaled only by his fierce pursuit of Laurel. He’s been burned by love, wounded by the government, and betrayed before, and to say he has trust issues is the ultimate understatement. Plus, he might be closer to this killer than anybody knows…

Once in the heart of darkness with Huck, Laurel must negotiate her distracting desire for him, her complex rapport with Abigail—and her mission to find a serial killer among a growing list of suspects and a danger that’s far too close to home. So close in fact, Laurel fears she will never find her way back to the woman she once was…

M/F Thriller, Murder Mystery

Laurel Snow is an FBI agent who is very good at her job. Being particularly intelligent is both a blessing and curse for Agent Snow. She went to college at a very young age and because of that, she hasn't met many people who are on par with her intellect. When she's diverted from going back to DC because of a case near her home, Laurel will need all of her smarts to make sure that the killer is caught.

Huck is a loner. After being a soldier, he needed the solitude of living in the woods. Now, he occasionally searches for lost hikers or helps out on police cases when he can be helpful. But he isn't looking forward to having the FBI in his back yard. With only his dog as a companion, Huck isn't used to someone always being around, but he can't help his attraction to Agent Snow, who doesn't take guff from anyone and can stand her ground.

This book will keep you guessing because Zanetti is great at throwing in details that aren't necessarily useful in figuring out who the killer is, but fantastic at pointing fingers at everyone or anyone.

You won't be disappointed in this thriller. The mystery definitely takes the show, and the romance is in the background, but not lost. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for more.

Veronica☆☆☆☆☆
You Can Run is the first novel in Rebecca Zanetti’s new Laurel Snow series, and what a great first book it is. I was hooked right from the start. Laurel proves herself to be pretty awesome right off the bat when she catches a pickpocket at the airport. She is highly intelligent, beautiful, not so great with people, and she chases serial killers for a living. I loved her.

Laurel returns to her hometown to assist on a case where her uncle is one of the suspects. She promptly meets Huck, the local Fisheries & Wildlife officer also working the case. Huck is all male and what you’d call a mountain man and a loner. He is also the love interest. Their developing attraction and friendship are woven well through the story and gives us a few steamy moments.

I have to say the hunt for the killer was so well done. There are various suspects. We have the weird and creepy Dr. Abigail Crane, who takes a strange interest in Laurel and inserts herself into the case; a pastor; Laurel’s uncle, and more. The story has good tension, a good amount of twists and turns along with plenty of danger. And I loved that I didn’t know who the killer was. I had several ideas, but I couldn’t decide on one. The author did a great job keeping me guessing.

In the Acknowledgement at the beginning of the book, Rebecca Zanetti mentions that You Can Run is her 70th book but for me it is the first book of this author that I’ve read and I absolutely loved it. The chase for a killer with great romance is right up my alley. I look forward to reading more stories in this series and I can’t wait to go check out some of the author’s previous books.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a new series, and there is some good world building through the book, which feels organic. Laurel may come from Genesis, but she left at eleven for college and, after a haul of degrees, she joined the FBI and became a profiler.

A gruesome discovery back home has Laurel flying in to see whether she can solve the mystery. Her uncle is a suspect, and she is confident that is a mistake and wants to help him too. Utterly unprepared for the weather, she finds herself needing help on her arrival – from a law enforcement officer, Huck and his working dog, Aeneas. We gather quite quickly that there is an unusual chemistry between them, but also that there are bigger needs in the town as more bodies are found.

I found the jurisdiction issues over the crimes really fascinating, and the blustering of the sheriff was both funny and disturbing. It adds some of the complexity to the solving of the case, but most of it comes from the local church. Be ready for some excellent red herrings and also some very unexpected twists and turns.

A really engaging read, and at times the description of the bad weather had me shivering. I am definitely going to be looking out for future installments, as I am invested in the futures of Laurel, (and her mum), Huck, Aeneas, and Kate and her girls, to mention just a few of those who live in Genesis.

Rebel's Karma by Rebecca Zanetti

Rebel's Karma by Rebecca Zanetti

There’s no denying destiny...

For too long, Benjamin Reese has masked his deadly skills and temper with loyalty and humor. A vampire-demon hybrid, he fiercely protects his family, guards his brothers, and destroys the enemy without mercy. But when he discovers one fragile, beautiful blonde—a woman once mated to a Kurjan, no less—every primal instinct he has buried for centuries roars to life. With the mating mark she roused on his hand entwining their fates, no one will prevent him from keeping her safe and making her his, forever...

Or desire...

Karma wishes she could remember her last name. Or if she even had one. All she has in this confusing new world is a desperate duty to save the innocent. That means destroying the dark, dangerous, and desirable Benjamin Reese and everything he loves—an impossible task even before his touch arouses a passionate hunger she can’t afford. She’s certain a deadly enemy watches her every move, but it’s not until Benny kisses her that she tastes true danger…

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the thirteenth book in the series, but I have to admit to being quite new to the world – having read a couple of novellas in the 1001 Dark Nights family of books. I also love the Deep Ops series by the very talented Zanetti, so was happy to get the chance to read and review the latest book.

What I loved about this book was the clear message that what you are told need not be true. Karma had been fed multiple lies about the behaviour of the The Realm and The Seven and preferred to stay in an evil world than face one reputedly far worse. It was a revelation to her that the queen who was meant to experiment on all strangers would turn into a friend. That Benjamin would give her a choice about the mating mark he had for her. It was powerful and yet gently written – a message many may need to hear in these days of media control.

I love that there is an underlying aim and goal which seeps through the story, but that the plot gives us a rich and caring romance, even when all around is destruction and chaos. It provides extra clues to the ultimate goal and the lengths to which characters will go to become all powerful – whatever the cost to other lives. It was fun to see Karma blossom and to even find some of her unknown powers when she needed them the most.

I am definitely going to have to get up to speed with the whole series as I can see that the next book will bring together many strands that I need to understand!

Vampire by Rebecca Zanetti

Vampire. Buy Now.

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti comes a new story in her Dark Protectors/Rebels series…

Dr. Mariana Lopez has finally stopped bailing friends out of difficult situations. Well, except for substituting as the leader for another anger management group, pitching in as a campaign strategist for a prospective sheriff, and babysitting three dogs. Even with such a full life, she can feel the danger around her—a sense that something isn’t right. Nightmares harass her, until the real thing comes to life, and only the dark and sexy male sitting in her group can save her. However, with safety comes a price she might not be willing to pay.

Raine Maxwell is one of the Maxwells out of Montana, which means he's not only one of the most deadly vampires alive, but his path is set and his mate has been chosen for him. To save him—to continue his line. Unfortunately, his mate is an enhanced human female who has no idea of her abilities, of his species, or of her future. He’d like to lead her gently into this new world, but his people aren’t the only ones who’ve found her, which puts her into more danger than she can imagine. Plus, in order to follow his laws, he only has one week to convince her that immortality with him is what she wants—and needs.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is book 12.5 of the series, but the 1001 Dark Nights books are designed to introduce new readers to a series as well as giving faithful fans a little treat. Either way, this is a lovely novella which gives a good run through the basic details of the paranormal world, and delivers a very satisfying ending.

Raine Maxwell needs to seal the deal with his mate, Mariana, to survive, but he is reluctant to bring her into the world of which she knows nothing. He cannot help being close to her though and indulging a little in the desire that he feels for her.

Mariana has a problem when her stalker seems to re-emerge, even after her relocation, and the chaos that this turn of events heralds is even more confusing than she ever imagined. I loved that she was prepared to be open-minded, that she definitely planned on being everything to Raine, not just a mate in name – and it was fun that she got to see a whole new side to her close friends.

I would definitely recommend this read as it is fun, sexy, and dips into that other world that it is so much fun to (imagine/know?) exists!

Dr. Mariana Lopez has a stalker that she just can’t shake. When she moves, but still finds herself kidnapped and mysterious flowers arrive, she knows she’s been found again.

Raine Maxwell is cursed. He knows it, his family knows it, and his friends know it. The one person who might save him is someone he loves, but he can’t bring himself to mark her.

With Raine trying to figure out who’s after Mariana, Mariana trying to figure out if Raine can be trusted, and an entire network of people who are either rooting for them or rooting against them, it will take a leap of faith on both Raine and Mariana’s part to find happiness.

This was a quick novella that was entertaining to read. However, I would recommend reading the previous books in the series, as it sometimes felt that it would have been more enjoyable had you known more from the series.

Driven by Rebecca Zanetti

Driven by Rebecca Zanetti

A gripping, unpredictable new serial killer thriller by acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti, perfect for fans of the chilling novels of Kat Martin, Laura Griffin, and Jayne Ann Krentz.

Unswerving: Angus Force is determined to hunt down the serial killer he’d once shot dead—or so he thought. But an anonymous source reports that Lassiter is alive. Force hasn't slept since, knowing it’s only a matter of time before “the Surgeon” strikes again. And soon, a body is found, bearing Lassiter’s same maniacal MO. It’s just the beginning of a murderous trail blazing through DC and Virginia, right to Force’s backyard...

Unstoppable: Nari Zhang is the shrink for the ragtag Deep Ops Unit, though she isn’t Force’s shrink—which is a very good thing. Because once they’re thrown together on the case, their attraction is explosive and irresistible. They’ll just have to fight that much harder to keep the heat between them from flaming out of control. But things are about to become far more challenging, and deadly, than they could have imagined...

Unhinged: Once the killer catches a glimpse of Nari, she becomes his new obsession. She is now the focus point—for both Force and Lassiter—in a dangerous dance for survival...

This is the fourth book in the series, and to be honest, the one that we have all been waiting for... Angus Force has contended that Lassiter was still alive, indeed his team within Homeland Security was convened to try and prove it. I really do recommend that you read the books in order to really understand the importance of this one.

The storyline is really all you could wish for, the buildup over the last three books didn't do justice to how intense this one would be, I had to put it down a few times to take a breath! Very clever and tightly plotted. Add in the simmering fire between Angus and Nari, which finally gets to take hold of them both and phwoar, the story went to a new level. I loved that we had all been waiting for the chance to arise, and to be honest it is even more entertaining than I was expecting! And how could I forget to mention Roscoe? – Angus's quirky dog, who is a key part of all the stories, but this one features him doing his duty and his mischief in equal measure.

I am not going to reveal any of the plot but, the excellent news is that this is not the last book in the series – which I had feared it might be when I realised early on that the team had been disbanded and then with how it ended. Never have I been so grateful for a “coming next” at the end of a book!

M/F Mystery

Angus knows that the serial killer everyone else thinks is dead isn't. He knows in his bones that his team is in danger. What he doesn't know is who might be helping the serial killer and why his team is being targeted by someone who may or may not be his serial killer.

Nari isn't one to shy away from something but keeping her dad's identity a secret is her own way of sticking it to him. She knows he doesn't really want her working near him, but she takes the job that nobody wants to prove to him that she is really good at what she does.

With their team in jeopardy, both Nari and Angus set out to figure out who is killing now and why. This story is full of family drama, romance, and twists and turns. You will want to know, but won't want the story to rush either.

This was a very entertaining story and while I didn't really think that Angus and Nari had much chemistry, they did work well together.

Sarah☆☆☆
This is an exciting, if somewhat confusing, addition to the series. After a year of improbably successful investigations, Angus Force’s crew of misfits is suddenly disbanded. With the team scattered, Angus must face the re-emergence of his old nemesis and the threat he now poses to the team.

This is the most complicated storyline in the series so far. The disbanded shadow team inside the shadow government agency inside the bigger agency feels part Matrix, part season one of 24, and part Alias. I’m glad we finally get Angus’ story, but I feel like his and Nari’s personal story gets a little lost among the layers of conspiracy, suspicion, and murder.

I don’t feel like this book has the strongest plot in the series. There are a couple of big twists and revelations which still don’t quite make sense to me. And there is far too much happening for one novel. A couple of subplots feel totally unnecessary.

The strength of this series so far has been the characters and the dynamics between team members. This book is so plot-heavy and the team so spread out that some of the camaraderie and playfulness that made the previous books so enjoyable is lost.

The one redeeming element of this book is Nari. She’s a surprisingly capable heroine with skills I didn’t even suspect until this book. I love her parents and her complicated relationship with her birth father. Nari is an unlikely match for Angus but they actually fit well as a couple. Nari kept me reading when everything else got too complicated and messy.

Excerpt

“How long has Aiden Devlin been dating your sister?” Detective Pierce expertly switched topics.

If he was looking to trip me up, he’d failed. “Aiden and Tess aren’t dating. I have no idea where he has been for the last two weeks.” It wouldn’t do to lie to Pierce right now, and I didn’t see a reason not to tell him the truth. “Before you ask, I don’t know why Aiden was at Tess’s apartment or if he had any prior relationship with Danny Pucci.” But I was sure going to find out.

“So you don’t know why Devlin’s knuckles were as beat to shit as the dead body’s?” Pierce asked.

Yeah, I’d noticed that as well. “Nope.”

Pierce twirled a pen on his desk. “This isn’t looking good for your sister.”

Considering I hadn’t talked to her yet, I didn’t know how bad it looked. “Did you test her hand for GSR?” I asked the question like I knew what I was talking about and hadn’t binge-watched Law & Order all day Sunday, where is actually how I’d learned about gunshot residue. A homicide case was way above my pay grade.

“She tested positive,” Pierce said, seeming relaxed but definitely not missing anything.

I rolled my eyes. “If she picked up the gun that had been used to kill Danny, then the residue would be on her hand. You know that.” I thought that was the truth.

“I also know that only a moron would pick up a gun in that situation,” Pierce retorted. “Unless she was frightened by Devlin. But I’d have to ask what he was doing there.”

I swallowed. “Did you test Aiden’s hand?”

“Yep. Positive as well,” Pierce said, watching me like a bird of prey. “According to him, he was target practicing yesterday, but that’s all he’d own up to—so far. I’m off to interview him next.”

“What about Tessa?”

Pierce shook his head. “She lawyered up right away with Clark Bunne. Wouldn’t say a word.”

Relief cooled the hot ball of anxiety in my stomach. Okay. Good. “Well, then. I guess I’ll go talk to her and figure this out. Let’s hope you’re as good of a detective as you think you are.” With that zinger, I stood.

“Albertini? You’ll have to talk to her tomorrow,” Pierce drawled.

I stopped cold, still facing him. “Why?”

“Because I just arrested her for suspicion of murder. She’s being processed now.”

This is the second book in the series – and I am not sure, but I think it might be even better than the first. It is SO funny in places, so sweet, so passionate, and pretty tense in places too... I had to stop reading a couple of times and have a quick talk to the pages, asking Anna what on earth was she thinking putting herself into danger again!

I think that you really need to read Disorderly Conduct first to get the complexity of the relationships and drama going on in this wonderful series. This book starts a couple of weeks after the ending of book one, with the situation between Anna and Aiden being very much up in the air. In the first few pages she faces a very unexpected sight – her sister, Tessa, holding a gun over her dead ex, and Aiden is there too. Cue a fast-paced, super sexy, and tension-laden story, which has brilliant little cameos thrown in for light relief and to bring the light to a dramatic plot.

The writing is wonderful, the story is fabulous, and I absolutely loved every page and every feeling. I am very excited to get book three as soon as it is available, as this is on my absolute must read series!

Disorderly Conduct by Rebecca Zanetti Blog Tour

A fun, sexy, suspenseful new series from New York Times Bestselling Author Rebecca Zanetti!

Bullets and Kisses Can Burn

The last person Anna Albertini expects to see in an orange jumpsuit in District Court—a place she SO doesn't belong as a new prosecuting attorney—is Aiden Devlin, the man who’d saved her life when they were kids. For years, she has dreamed about him. Now here he is—his eyes blue, his chest wide, and his hands in cuffs.

Sure, Aiden says he doesn’t want her help, and his ties to a deadly motorcycle club should give her warning. Yes, her new boss is a sexy Italian bad boy who might be using the case to climb to the top. Plus, the detective assigned to the case, with his green eyes and broad shoulders, wants her to stay out of his way.

With so much testosterone surrounding her all of a sudden, most women would find it hard to concentrate. This might be why the case leads Anna to yelp during a spa appointment, fall out of a tree, and chase a naked old man around the courtroom. It’s a good thing Anna learned a long time ago to be her own hero, no matter how fast the bullets fly or the kisses consume.

“I see,” the judge said, turning to the small stack of case files in front of her, clearly disappointed at the lack of gossip. “Let’s get to business, then. Georgiana Lambertini,” she called out in a clear voice.

I turned as Georgiana and Thelma shuffled up to my table. Georgiana had donned a pirate’s black eye patch.

I shifted my attention to the judge. “This is Georgiana and also Thelma Mullen. They were charged together.”

The judge raised her eyebrows. “For breaking and entering?”

Georgiana’s hands clasped against her chest. “It was a mistake, judge,” she said solemnly, her visible brown eye earnest and cloudy. “We were just trying to be good neighbors. We’re getting close to heaven’s gates, you know.”

“But,” Thelma started, then, “Ouch!” She grimaced down at her foot.

Georgiana smiled angelically next to her. “Yeah, we were just watering our dear neighbor’s plants,” she continued, her face beseeching and sad.

Thelma hummed and fluttered mascara-caked eyelashes. “Well, all right then,” she said.

The judge nodded at Georgiana’s eye patch. “Were you injured?”

“Oh no.” Georgiana flipped the eye patch up, revealing a cataract riddled brown eye. “I thought it was a good look for the big house. You know, so the bad bitches don’t mess with us.”

The judge buried her head in the file, and I couldn’t move. The lady had just sworn in court. It was funny, but… I couldn’t move.

Oh, this is a whole lot of fun, a lot of crazy, and a lot of interested, sexy, eligible men for Anna to choose!

I have to say I got very little sleep last night, as this arrived just as I was thinking of turning out the light ... but thought I would just take a peek ... four hours later my eyes gave out, but my laughter muscles had had a good workout! Luckily I am working from home, so no need to present a wakeful face today... or reveal my rather long reading lunch!

I am a big fan of Rebecca Zanetti, and am very happy to be here at the very start of what promises to be an excellent series. It has some pretty complicated underlying plot lines, and I challenge anyone to have ever thought that Aiden could possibly be bad to the core... because there is no way Anna would fall for that, she is far too astute - well except when it comes to avoiding danger! We will no doubt find out more in future installments. I cannot wait.

100% recommend this to you as a really entertaining, character strong, plot thick, and potential romance laden story. I would say that if you like Stephanie Plum, this is absolutely for you. Anna is better educated, has different reasons to be entangled in all the crazy, and definitely carries a gun, but trouble definitely finds her too!

Rebecca Zanetti is the author of over fifty romantic suspense and dark paranormal romances, and her books have appeared multiple times on the New York Times, USA Today, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iBooks bestseller lists. The New York Times reviews has found that in her books, “humor surfaces in even the tensest moments, giving the high-stakes drama humanity and warmth.”

She lives in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with her own Alpha hero, two kids, a couple of dogs, a crazy cat… and a huge extended family. She believes strongly in luck, karma, and working her butt off… and she thinks one of the best things about being an author, unlike the lawyer she used to be, is that she can let the crazy out

Vixen by Rebecca Zanetti Blog Tour

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti comes a new story in her Dark Protectors/Rebels series…

Tabi Rusko has a simple to-do list: Rob a bank, steal a recording, set up a lucrative factory, and survive the assassins on her tail. Sure, she’s a demoness with the cunning and instincts that come with her species, but she’s always spent more time exploring than training, and her fighting skills are okay at best. One sexy man, a human cop no less, is responsible for her being stuck in a small hick town and forced into a human anger-management group that’s crazier than her. To make matters worse, his dangerous blue eyes and hard body leave her breathless and ready to rumble, and his overbearing attitude is a challenge a demoness can’t refuse.

Evan O’Connell just wants to enjoy his time out of the military by policing a small town and hopefully pulling cats from trees and helping old ladies cross the street before he succumbs to the disease plaguing him. The last thing he needs is a stunning, too sexy, pain in the butt blonde casing his bank and causing a ruckus everywhere she goes. There’s something different about her that he can’t figure out, and when she offers him immortality in exchange for her freedom, he discovers that isn’t enough. One touch of her, a whirlwind beyond his imagination, and he wants the Vixen to be his forever, as soon as he takes care of the centuries old killers on her tail.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

“If you need an alibi taking that twerp out, just let me know,” Tabi whispered to Raine as she strode out of the abandoned schoolhouse after the useless anger management class. Johnny Baker was a waste of space, as far as she was concerned.

“Thanks,” Raine said, not smiling, the darkness surrounding him. The early spring breeze rustled through the night, chilly and unwelcoming. At least it wasn’t raining.

She nodded and moved down the crumbling cement sidewalk toward her car as Raine turned and jogged across the street to his silver truck. Stopping at her car, she paused, not surprised to see the detective heading her way through the night. “You really have a hard-on for me, don’t you?” she murmured.

“Yes.” Both of his eyebrows rose. “You sure have a way with words.”

She unlocked her vehicle, her body flaring to life at his honest response. “I was raised by a woman who called it like she saw it.” Sometimes the pain at losing Janet still took Tabi by surprise. Why did humans have to die? “Unless you’re going to give up my video, I suggest you head to work like your boss ordered you to do.”

Evan opened her door, his sexy scent of smoked honey wafting around. “I’ll give you the recording.”

She jolted and turned to face him directly. “What did you say?”

His blue eyes seemed darker than usual, deep with what looked like pain. “I’ll give you the recording. Come down to the station tomorrow morning for one more interview, and then I’ll take you to the bank myself.”

It was as if he knew she was going to blow town the second she got her hands on the video, even though her business was here. She bit her lip. If she got the footage, she could meet Abby at the factory and give her instructions before running. Man, she hated to run.

Evan smiled. “You’re sure thinking hard. Why don’t you tell me what’s really going on? I can protect you.”

Warmth flushed her. The man truly believed that. The only way he could come close would be if she—no. No way. She shouldn’t even think of that. Was it even possible? Did she want a mate?

“Tabitha? What’s barreling through your head?” As if unable to help himself, he reached out and smoothed a lock of hair away from her face.

Shocking electricity zapped beneath her skin.

His brows drew down. “Did you feel that?”

She nodded. “Why are you now willing to give me the recording?”

He sighed and looked across the vacant street. “I don’t like that the sheriff’s kid is in the anger-management group with you, considering you definitely injured his pride along with his body. Chances are, he’ll come after you. Since you’re planning to run, I thought to make it easy for you.” His gaze scouted the area, something he seemed to do often.

“Do you miss the service?” she asked softly, wanting to know more about him. Abby had told her that he’d served in the navy a while back.

He blinked. “Yeah.”

“Why did you leave?”

His gaze shuttered closed faster than a bank vault.

“I know you’re ill,” she said quietly.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is such a fun read – I don't often read paranormal, and haven't read this series, but Zanetti is such a favourite of mine that I could not pass up the opportunity. I was thrilled when I got a hot, sexy, and exciting novella, and even happier once I had read it.

I have no doubt at all that if I were up with the series, there would have been a lot of old friends here, but for me the whole cast was new, but I never felt that I was missing anything. In fact, I clearly know a lot more about our 'other' fellow inhabitants on earth than Evan did – wow, what a shock that must have been when he finally got that it wasn't a cult! Makes me smile again thinking about his chivalrous nature, and how he was protective, even when so unwell.

There is a lot of plot, some of it small town, some of it otherworldly, but it fits together perfectly and was the perfect escape for a Sunday afternoon. I will be adding the Dark Protectors series to my to-be-read pile, that is for sure!
