The Romantic Pact by Meghan Quinn Blog Tour

The Romantic Pact by Meghan Quinn Blog Tour

I haven't seen her in three years.

I haven't talked to her since the kiss.

So why am I on a plane, flying across the world to spend a week with her in Germany?

One word: Pops.

My life’s a mess.
My possible football career is hanging on by a thread.
I'm driving the roads of Germany in honor of Pops with the one girl I can never have.
And I’m sharing a bed with her, the girl I've measured everyone else up to, while desperately trying to not to touch her.

We made a pact growing up, never to get romantic with each other – never fall in love.

And I'm about to break that pact. For good.

What happens when childhood friends are brought back together after drifting apart? They are sent on a week-long trip together, exploring Germany.

Crew is home for Christmas break, it's the first time he is home after his Pops passed away. But Pops left a surprise for him that will send him and his childhood friend Hazel to Germany to get reacquainted. With each daily letter, they find themselves in the same places Pops fell in love. As they go through the markets, stores, and hotels, Crew and Hazel find there are feelings stirring inside that they must not act on. One or two touches here and there are all they will allow, until they give in. When the trip comes to an end, Hazel goes back to the farm and Crew goes back to football.

Will they be able to make this relationship work? Can she put aside her blinders and accept things must change? Is there a future for them? Are there more letters from Pops?

This story is fun, adventurous, flirty, heartbreaking, and comes with the best happily ever after. Who better to be lovers than to begin as best friends? I fell in love with this story as Crew and Hazel loved Pops even though he wasn't Hazel's grandpa, she still belonged to him. I loved the first book, but I think this one is my favorite so far. This is a first for me from this author and I will surely be looking for more from her.

This is the second in a set of linked stories by different authors. The first was The Revenge Pact by Ilsa Madden-Mills and involved River, Crew's best friend at college and fellow football player.

I loved this really romantic fairytale story. Crew lost his beloved grandfather in the summer, the third summer that he didn't go and spend with the old man, as he was at football training. He is devastated, and when his parents tell him, he is going on a trip planned by his grandfather before his death, he hopes that it will bring him some peace. Little did he expect that along with him would be Hazel, his best friend from summers spent with his grandfather. She is also deeply affected by his loss, and the chance to take a road trip that he has planned is very special to both of them.

As we travel around with them and watch them understand what life could be like, it is highly enjoyable, festive, and heartwarming. It is an interesting mix of football, friends-to-lovers, and Christmas joy. Thank you, Meghan Quinn, for a really wonderful book for escaping the everyday.

That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn delivers a smart and cheeky romance about love’s power to lift hearts... and curses.

It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all...

But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”

Boy, was I wrong.

Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.

It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.

Everyone wishes for that second chance... but could this really be mine?

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a new series, and therefore has a degree of world building to do. It certainly gives us a picture-perfect vision of Port Snow and its inhabitants. It also sets up the reason for the Knightly brothers all being single – and this really didn't fit in with the upstanding, family-oriented, even sensible men that we meet in Port Snow. Maybe it is just my natural questioning of any such 'curse' as having an impact, but the fact that ALL the brothers use the curse as a reason for their lack of successful relationships seems a touch too far (Rogan in particular). However, I enjoyed the story a great deal, and just accepted their behaviour as being 'quirky.'

Griff's wife died very soon after they returned from New Orleans, and this certainly has sworn him off relationships – and made perfect sense in its own right. So when he rescues Ren on her arrival in Port Snow, his feelings towards her shock him and send him into some deep and complicated reflection.

As they get to know each other and he acts as her tour guide to her new hometown, we see them become firm friends, even if she definitely wants more, and he resists his urges at every step. It is amusing, sweet, funny, and also a little sad. I was totally hooked on the story and working out how he could possibly square the logic with the heart. For a man who appears to be good to his soul, we definitely are rooting for him to wake up to himself!

Ren is a fun person, even though she teaches algebra (!), and other than a few mentions of what was clearly a very traumatic car accident in her past, she is really a calm and centred being – except when being over-parented by her mother. I loved when they turned up unannounced. 😉

There are a host of possibilities for stories going forward that I am really looking forward to reading, especially now that the curse issue should be taking a distinctly back seat in proceedings. I am looking forward to more fudge recipe ideas, more fun from the brothers, and Rogan needs to find someone to unsettle him. I also hope that we get to see Ren and Griff move forward together in their pretty perfect town of Port Snow.

Avid Reader☆☆☆☆
3.5 stars
M/F Romance

This is a picturesque town with a great sense of community. When Griffin and his brothers are "cursed," the town gossip spreads like wildfire and then Griffin and his brothers are "those who should not be loved." With a tragedy following the curse, Griffin can't help but believe that him and his brothers truly are cursed.

When Ren decided that she needed to spread her wings and figure out her own life, she chose to take a job incredibly far away from her overprotective, helicopter parents. With an almost tragic car accident in her past, she knows that she wants to live her life on her terms. When she first pulls into town, of course she's met with an accident. Griffin comes to her rescue and from there, she believes that she might have found a great friend.

While this is a cute story, and I love Ren, it's Griffin's character that I have the most issues with in this book. He is not very strong mentally, despite him being portrayed as an alpha male. When he meets Ren, despite his interest, he relies on this curse to hold him back from living his life. He has this way of pushing and pulling against Ren that made my head spin.

Griffin's family were hilarious in this book and I can't wait to see them in future books. I think that if this story had focused more on Griffin and Ren, rather than the curse, it would have been more successful for me.

Mary Jo☆☆☆
I really wanted to love this book, but to me, it fell flat. The "curse" that the brothers believe they have on them was yelled at them during a drunken night in New Orleans. Now, every time something goes wrong in their love lives, they blame the curse.

Griffin's the oldest and helps run his parents’ fudge shop, as does most of his siblings at one time or another. He's also a volunteer fireman, which is how he meets Ren on her first day in town.

Ren has her own story: nearly being killed in a car accident a few years ago, lengthy rehab, and now moving cross country to get away from her very overprotective mother.

Griff's belief in this curse is impacting his life in more ways than one. He's letting fear rule is life and is unwilling to love someone because the "curse" could harm her. In the end, it’s his fear that pushes Ren away.

I like the character of Griff, but his incessant talk of the curse gets old.

Diary of a Bad Boy by Meghan Quinn Release Blitz

Dear Diary,

I might have gotten myself into a wee bit of trouble—and I'm not talking about the "court mandated community service," or “therapy sessions from bashing a bloke in the head" kind of trouble.

I wish it were that simple.

Nope. I’m talking about the "falling in love with one of my client's daughters,” kind of trouble... The kind of problem I can’t talk my way out of when the truth gets out.

How I ended up with her phone is a long story—and when she called to get it back, I took things a bit too far. One innocent exchange wound up leading to so much more.

Fun, new, and totally immune to my charm, Sutton is different. And I had no idea she was the daughter of Foster Green.

Blame it on the dark colored stout running through my veins, pushing me toward one bad decision after another. Pushing me toward her even though I know right from wrong; even though she's my client's daughter.

Dating her might be the best or worst decision I've ever made. Only time, whiskey, and one more roll around the mattress with her will tell.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is another excellent addition to the Quinn bookshelf. It is by turns snarky, romantic, and fun. I absolutely love the way the two first meet, thanks to their phones being swapped due to a brawl.

Roark has a serious anger issue, and his mandated therapist insists on him keeping a diary. This is a really fun way of keeping us up to date with his thoughts and dreams, as well as his frustrations. His need to give it a name and failing to settle on one, is also very amusing.

Sutton has had an unusual childhood, but is wonderful, sensible, and sensitive. I loved her list of things she needed to do, and her honesty with her friend Maddie. Her interactions with Roark's best friends, Rath and Bram, are also fun, and she definitely helps Bram in his moment of crisis.

The chemistry between Sutton and Roark is absolutely sizzling and they are completely even in their impact on each other – Sutton may be inexperienced, but she is fabulously feisty and great fun. Her behaviour in Texas is just perfect! It was inevitable that there would be a hitch in their progress, but any Quinn fan will know that there would be a clever and satisfying resolution.

The Other Brother by Meghan Quinn Blog Tour

I got the call. The dreaded call every child fears. My dad wasn’t well, and the man who had always been my everything needed me.

There was only one thing to do; pack up and head back to my hometown. I had finally made my dream life in the city with the great job and loving boyfriend. But was there really a choice not to go?

I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good.

Until I met my neighbor.

It's been three years since I'd seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever?

I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother.

Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?

Why? Why does he have to magically appear in my life? Moving back to Binghamton, I thought about the possibility of maybe running into him, but I thought it unlikely, something that would never really happen.

Boy, was I wrong.

What a sick joke life is playing on me.

Aaron Walters, the boy who broke me into pieces is my neighbor.

I can’t fathom the impact I feel already.

Seeing him in hip-hugging jeans and a tight, plain shirt did a number on me. It kept me up all night as memories of what we used to have flooded my mind.

His voice.

His stature.

The way he used to kiss my neck.

The way I felt so protected in his arms.

Too bad his arms couldn’t protect me from his devastating, heart-breaking self.

And hell, he looked good. Too good.

He’s always been tall with handsome features and a chiseled jaw, but now he’s bulked up to the point that I could see his abs flexing under his shirt, the same shirt that stretched over his biceps.

But it wasn’t his muscles or handsome features that once again made my heart ache, it was those eyes. So bright, so blue, so kind, but still so sad. It reminded me of the first day I met him, of the day he stole my heart from every other man on the market.

Broken, unsure, yet yearning for love. It was all there, and like experiencing a moment of déjà vu, I was transported back into a time when I felt invisible, like I could conquer anything with him at my side.

Once again, I was wrong.

This was my first time reading anything by Meghan Quinn and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how much I ended up liking The Other Brother. I was immediately drawn into the story and couldn't put it down. Plus, I easily fell in love with Aaron and Amelia's story. Aaron won me over so easily and I really enjoyed getting both his and Amelia's points of view. I especially appreciated Amelia's love for pizza!

Amelia finally has her dream life in the city, but when she finds out her father isn't doing so well, she decides to move home to Binghamton to be closer to him. Everything seems to be going perfectly now that she has settled into her new job and home. Until she finally meets her new neighbor.

I'll be on the lookout for any of Meghan Quinn's books in the future and I'll definitely be looking into her previous books where Aaron first appears.

5 Stars for Meghan Quinn's The Other Brother.

Ruthie☆☆☆
This is another good addition to Ms. Quinn's published works. It is a little more serious than some of her other books, and although there were a few madcap scenes, it was a very moving and thoughtful romance.

I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of books which go backwards and forwards in time, but it did work as a nonlinear way of telling the story, and the pacing was good. We get to know both Amelia and Aaron's sides of the relationship, where it went wrong, what they think about each other, and how they wish it were different. We get a very good understanding of how Aaron's past shaped his present, and it is both heartbreaking and impressive that he pushed past it. His friends are very important to the story, as is Amanda, Amelia's BFF.

I would definitely recommend this book to you, for its insightfulness, its passion, and its hopefulness for the future.

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆
Woo, this book is a rollercoaster of emotion packed into an incredible storyline. The reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because I didn't like that though Amelia doesn't sleep with Aaron and cheat on her boyfriend, they're emotionally in a relationship before she breaks it off and cheating’s cheating.

When Amelia moves back to her hometown, she winds up living next door to her first love. Aaron broke her heart all those years ago and she's determined not to let it happen again, plus she has a boyfriend anyways. But the more time the two spend together, the more Amelia realizes the feelings are still there.

This story has an excellent, intriguing plotline, well developed characters and I appreciated that Amelia and Aaron didn't jump right into things – there was just the right amount of buildup. I think Meghan Quinn did an excellent job wrapping this story up with that epilogue too, I look forward to reading more from this author.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Twisted Twosome by Meghan Quinn Blog Tour

From the first day I met Racer McKay, I knew our interaction was going to be incredibly brief. First impressions really do matter and unfortunately, I didn’t make a very good one.

At the time, I didn’t think much of it. I was never going to see this man again, right?

Wrong! When I’m met with the opportunity of a lifetime, there is only one man in the state of New York who can assist me. And can you guess who it is?

But what I don’t realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he’s desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.

So, we reluctantly join forces.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

*Twisted Twosome is a standalone romantic comedy.

“Thanks for lunch, I haven’t had a fine peanut butter and jelly sandwich in quite some time.” Racer takes a giant bite from one of three sandwiches I made him. The man can eat; I just want to know where he puts it all. “What is this, crunchy peanut butter?” He looks over the sandwich, studying it intently.

“Yes, it’s crunchy with mixed berry jam.”

He nods and takes another bite. He talks with his mouth full, which for some weird reason makes him oddly adorable. “Nice touch, George. The peanuts add a nice texture.”

“Are you going all food critic on my PB and J skills right now?”

Lifting his shirt, he dabs away some of the sweat that’s collecting on his forehead, beneath his backward hat. His abs flex with the movement, drawing my attention. Each divot calling out to me to touch, to examine... to lick.

“I think every human should be judged on their PB and J skills.”

I pull my eyes away from his stomach just in time not to get caught staring. “Why do you think that?”

“Because,” he takes another bite, “I think building a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is in everyone’s repertoire, but only the truly skilled know how to make a proper one. And I want to be friends with the truly skilled.”

“Is that so?” I take a drink of my green tea and study him for a second, watching the way the muscles in his jaw move with each bite and swallow. It’s sexy.

His neck is sexy? Is that possible?

“So where do I land on your scale of sandwich artists?”

He smiles from my term, and I realize how much I adore his boyish charm. Pulling his eyes away from me, he examines one of the sandwiches I made him and starts assessing it. “Good ratio of peanut butter to jelly. Nice choice in bread. The crunch you added has been a pleasant surprise, and the mixed berry jam is fucking delightful.” I giggle from his girly term. “But...”

I perk up; there’s a but? “But what?”

He quirks his mouth to the side, almost to say, “Sorry, but you’re not quite perfect.” “The bread, it should have been toasted. Toasting it would have taken you to boss level when it comes to the PB and J.”

“Toasting it?”

He nods and takes another bite. “When you don’t toast a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the peanut butter and bread form a paste on the roof of your mouth. Even though it tastes good, it can get quite irritating.”

“But I didn’t have a toaster.”

“Rookie mistake.”

“Well, If I knew I was going to be critiqued, I would have sprung for bacon.”

He pauses mid bite and stares at me over his sandwich. “You’re a beast for bringing up the option.”

I polish off the rest of my sandwich and wipe my fingers. “Well, maybe next time you’ll communicate expectations better. I’m not a mind reader, Racer. Frankly, the fact I didn’t make boss level is on you, not me.”

I stand and gather my trash as he stares me down. “Don’t you turn this on me. You didn’t have a toaster. The toaster is what’s key. This is on you, Georgie. This is on you!” he calls out as I make my way to the back, laughing to myself the entire time.

Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team

Angela☆☆☆☆
I’m writing this review on the fly and I apologize that it won’t be as well-thought out as my reviews normally are, but real-life has gotten in the way recently and I’ll just say that Mother Nature has been in a foul mood as of late and leave it at that. With that said, curling up with Twisted Twosome made it easier to endure her temper tantrum because in usual Quinn style, I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with Racer McKay as he fell in love with Georgiana.

I loved the banter between Racer and Georgie. It was clear that in the beginning, despite the slight her father delivered, Georgie needed a major reality check and Racer’s refusal to kowtow to her was perfect. What starts off as antagonism between two people who need each other professionally – and hates that fact – gradually morphs into a hesitant friendship as each learns that the other isn’t the stereotype they’ve believed them to be. Yes, Georgie definitely has her moments, but as Racer learns more about her and the chain of events that forced her to hire him to renovate her shop, he realizes that despite her money, he had it far better because he grew up with a father who loved and supported him. [And I’ll just insert that I LOATHED Georgie’s father, so, well done on that front, Quinn.] I also enjoyed how Georgie discovered that Racer wasn’t just a pretty face (despite the strip tease, lol) and that his working construction was a family tradition that didn’t serve as an indicator of his intelligence. I particularly enjoyed it when he whipped out his… big words (my, you’ve got a filthy mind) and showed that he had an appreciation for words like she did. And while the word nerd in me didn’t know any of the words from Georgie’s journal, I loved that I got to add to my vocabulary in such a heartfelt and entertaining way.

As much as I enjoyed Twisted Twosome, Racer and Georgie’s banter and pranks, and Racer calling Georgie’s father out on his outdated, misogynistic b/s, I’m not sure this is a book I’ll reread, hence the 4-star rating instead of five. I can’t put my finger on it because I laughed, I cried, I fanned myself, I mumbled “Punch him, punch him!”, and I cheered when Georgie had her come to Jesus meeting, and yet, something was missing for me that would secure this book a spot on my reread list – which is, ultimately, the difference between a 4-star read and a 5-star read for me. With that said, I’d snatch up another book featuring Racer and Georgie or any of their friends because I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. And I gotta give props to Quinn for the outstanding prank phone call. Even knowing about such calls and the constant pranking between the two, I fell for it right alongside Georgie. Well played, Ms. Quinn, well played.

My Best Friend's Ex by Meghan Quinn Blog Tour

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn't be that big of a deal Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he's still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I'm trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.

But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend's ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that's what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

“Morning,” Tucker’s deep voice rattles off the cabinets. It’s his morning voice, deeper, throatier—if that makes sense—and I hate to admit it, because he’s just my friend, but sexier.

Once my pupils adjust to the light, I take Tucker in. He’s standing in front of the stove, rubber spatula in hand, wearing a white long-sleeve Henley shirt, the top two buttons undone, a pair of worn jeans with a few paint stains on them, and tan work boots. Sweet Jesus, he makes construction look good. Strap a tool belt around his waist and stick him in front of a camera for the benefit of all womankind.

“Morning,” I say in reply, using the counter to help hold up my tired body. “You’re up early. What time do you have to go into work?”

“Around seven thirty. I like to get an early start before the boys come in.” He looks me up and down, a small smile at the corner of his lips. “You look good.” He motions around his head with his hand. “I really like what you did with your hair.”

I turn toward the window in the kitchen and check out my reflection. Sure enough, my long brown hair looks like a lion’s mane poofed out and framing my face with an abundance of volume. Beautiful.

There is no use in taming it, so I leave my hair as is and turn back toward Tucker. “Not many people can get this kind of height while sleeping.” I pretend to fluff my hair.

“Impressive.” He chuckles and then points to the coffee maker with the spatula. “Coffee is done, mugs are above in the cabinet. Grab me a cup, will ya? Eggs will be done shortly, bacon is warming in the oven.”

I do as directed, thinking it’s kind of cute how he’s including me in on his little morning breakfast. “I didn’t even know you had eggs. I was expecting to hit up Dunkin’ Donuts or Tim Horton’s this morning.”

He turns off the stove and reaches for two plates from the dish rack. “I went to Walmart this morning. Picked up a few things.”

“This morning?” I pour two cups of coffee and turn toward him. “What time did you wake up?”

“Four thirty,” he answers casually. “Got a quick run in, did some weights, took a shower and then went to Walmart.” He fills our plates with bacon and eggs and then nods toward the dining room, plates and silverware in hand. “I have a surprise.”

I follow him to the dining room where he flips on the light and reveals a card table fold-out dining set.

“You got a table.” I chuckle, loving that it’s a fold-out card table with matching chairs. Anything is better than the floor.

“And placemats,” he adds, as he lifts two plastic placemats from one of the chairs. “The options were bleak so I went with dinosaurs for me and Trolls for you. Given the look of your morning hair, Trolls was the right choice.” Clever bastard. He sets them on the table and then puts our plates on top of them.

God, it’s too freaking cute. Chuckling, I take a seat and hand him his coffee. “Look at you getting all domestic. I never thought you would be a placemat kind of man, I stand corrected.”

He rests a napkin on his legs, which are spread drastically, almost the length of the table and leans over to fork some eggs into his mouth. “Didn’t want our food to damage the plastic of this high-class table.” I love the humor in his voice, it reminds me of all the good times we had, before the end of his relationship with Sadie.

“Smart man, you want this table to last.”

“Of course, you don’t see fine furniture like this in houses anymore. Everything has to be so sturdy. What ever happened to rickety furniture and living through a meal with the threat of your food possibly kissing the floor at any point in time?”

“The horror,” I joke.

He looks up at me. Some of his hair is still wet from his shower. Pointing his fork at me he says, “Are you ready to be schooled?”

“Schooled on what?” I take a bite of bacon and my stomach jumps in excitement for finally rewarding it for waking up early. All right, I will admit it, getting out of bed was a smart idea.

“It’s Monday, babe. DJ Hot Cock has his song picked and ready to show you what real music is.”

“When was my music taste ever questioned? I like good music.”

“We’ll see.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. I watch as he flips through it until he lands on the song he wants to introduce me to. He presses play and sets his phone on the table. The light pickings of a guitar fill the small dining room. I don’t recognize the song, but I like the sound of it so far.

Just as I’m settling in to the sweet pickings of a guitar, the distinct voice of Zac Brown chimes in. I’ve known Tucker for loving EMO growing up, so his choice in a country song is very surprising to me, but when I look up at him, pure hometown country boy sitting across from me, it makes perfect sense.

And then the lyrics hit me. My Old Man. Zac sings about his father, hoping he’s proud of the man he’s become. I’m transported back to a dreary day in Whitney Point, where we grew up, when Sadie called me one Saturday morning. I was getting ready for the day. We were in middle school. Tucker’s dad was killed by a head-on collision, the dad Tucker just reconnected with, the dad Tucker had plans on moving in with to get away from his neglectful mom. Those next few days—and weeks—were a whirlwind of sorrow. Attending his funeral, my first ever funeral, seeing the look of devastation on Tucker’s face, wondering what he might be feeling, trying to channel his hurt, it was so much to take on as a teenager.

Glancing up, I take in Tucker’s expression. He’s lost in the music, in the words, just like me. When the song ends, I lean over and place my hand on his, our eyes meet and there is an unspoken understanding between us. I don’t have to say anything about his dad, about the tragedy we went through so many years ago together as friends. It’s all said between this silent exchange.

I wasn't sure what to make of this read with the first few chapters, but once I got into it, I couldn't put it down.

Tucker and Emma used to be close friends when Tucker was dating her best friend, Sadie, but when Sadie and Tucker's relationship fell apart, Emma felt she had to choose a side. Emma hadn't talked to Tucker in over a year when she ran into him at a bar one night. Emma feels horrible for not connecting with him sooner. Emma notices a sadness about Tucker that wasn't there before, she vows then to be a better friend. When he finds out she needs a place to stay, he offers her to live at his house. He's not quite sure why he offered, but he'd do anything to feel less lonely.

My Best Friend's Ex is fun and flirty, sexy and sweet. Tucker, on more than one occasion, made me swoon. Tucker made this story for me. I couldn't get enough. Racer was hilarious. I can totally get into him getting his own story!

Wow! This is the second time this year Meghan Quinn has blown me away with her story telling. My Best Friend's Ex is an amazingly romantic and hilariously funny book. I laughed so many times and I swooned just as many too.

Every girl is going to want to be Emma. She is funny, caring, beautiful, and great fun. Tucker is a really good guy. He is hard working, gorgeous, and has a lot of love to give. But he has had a hard life and is struggling to move forward from the devastating end to his last relationship. So among the love, heat, and fun times, there is also a dose of heartache.

My Best Friend's Ex is a fantastic friends-to-lovers story. This is a must read for all romance readers.

I have read many of Ms. Quinn's books, and am a big fan... I usually take a few pages to get back into her style, which is a wonderful mix of irreverent humour, smut, and romance. And I have enjoyed them all, sometimes unexpectedly until about half way through – but confident that the moment will come that makes it all slot together. This time though, it just never quite happened for me. I can't really explain why, although I was never really invested enough in Emma or even Tucker. Even though he was obviously a good guy, he came over as weak to me. And some of the plot devices – such as the management course – just seemed odd.

It is a sweet story, with some great lines and some fun characters, and whilst it somehow missed for me, I am sure that it will be loved by many. Ms. Quinn is a really talented writer and I will definitely read whatever she writes next, as it is sure to make me laugh and aww all over again.

Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
