Josh is one of three brothers who own their own design and build firm. He has just closed a deal and is feeling pretty good when he runs in to Vanessa. She is having the worst night. Her car is missing, she's got a walking cast on, and she feels frazzled.

Their relationship is a whirlwind. They fall fast, despite neither of them wanting to. Vanessa has her own hang-ups and Josh doesn't believe he will ever find someone. It was somewhat of a young adult relationship feel throughout, since both of these characters were not great at relationships.

Overall, this was a quick read and ended just as abruptly as they started.

Book 2: Hammered

Alex McMann is one of the brothers in a design and build firm. When he walks to a big name firm to talk about a potential new job, the last thing he expects is to be instantly attracted to one of its associates.

Olivia, or Livy as she goes by, has had a raw deal in life. She comes from a family where she was never good enough. She hasn't ever really felt love and that has made her become hardened in her heart.

Livy and Alex agree to a friends with benefits arrangement. However, both of them are fighting their feelings like crazy. They have a fast growing relationship and with all of the things they have in common, in terms of work, staying away from each other proves to be very difficult.

When Alex and Livy find the edge of their cliff, it will take both of them to figure out if they can truly make their relationship into something meaningful, rather than just a series of hookups. I enjoyed this story a little more than the first one – it felt more complete. It was fun to watch them fight their attraction and decide how they wanted their life to go.

Tyler is the final brother to get his story. His brothers don't know about his sexual preferences, but he doesn't care. It's where he goes to let off steam. With all of the traveling that he has to do to keep on top of all of their jobs, Tyler sometimes just needs his own space.

When Tyler meets Flame for the first time, there is instant chemistry. Flame is his perfect match. When she refuses to show him who she really is, it only adds to her mystery. Their relationship, while a little unconventional, is also one that is almost purely honest. They know that there is an attraction but because of past trauma, Jenyfer isn't willing to mesh her club self with her professional self... until she meets Tyler. He's the first person that she might want to show both sides of herself to.

Tyler and Jenyfer will have to navigate long stays away due to work and Jenyfer's barriers around her heart. I really liked watching these two figure out their relationship. It was refreshing and a well-rounded story.

This is the second book in this series, but I believe that it can be read as a standalone.

Beau is a tough sniper who prides himself on his ability to read people and do his job well. He has never really believed in love or even in true relationships but seeing his brothers-in-arms start to pair off gets him thinking. Then when he meets Megan, she starts to seal the deal for him. He starts to want things that he has never wanted before.

Megan is an independent woman who is awesome at finding the story. When she sees a pattern among older athletes, she starts after the story – not really caring if there are consequences. But when it becomes apparent that someone is after her, she is thankful to have Beau close.

Beau's need to protect is kicked into gear when he realizes that Megan is walking a dangerous road. He has a degree from MIT and lends a hand in more than one way to Megan. These two have a great relationship when they are together, but when push comes to shove and both want what they want – Beau to protect and Megan to continue to have her independence – they will have to decide if they can compromise or if walking away will be the best decision.

For me, this was a great story. The only issue I had was the predictability. The who done it, for me, was obvious and that took away from the story.

Riley is running. He is running from his cheating business partner and selfish woman. What he doesn't expect is to wind up stranded in a blizzard. As he's thinking he'll die out in the blizzard, he also is following the one light he can see – as he walks up, he gets an eye full of Jessie.

Despite not a lot of dialogue, this short erotic story is what it claims to be. Hot, steamy sex between two adults with absolutely no history. It delivered what it stated and didn't disappoint. I would have liked to see a little more dialogue, but overall, this was exactly what I expected.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is an enjoyable novella with a great mix of passion, humour, and insecurity. Interesting the insecurity is on both sides regarding the genuineness of the other, which makes for some amusing and awkward encounters. Luckily, they believe that there may be more than just a passing fascination with each other and take the time to work through their issues – which makes for a good story. I love the walking cast element which forced them to be creative, I could just imagine it!

I am looking forward to the next book in the series, and hopefully we will get a bit of a catch up on this fun couple too.

Super quick read and action packed, it starts hot and never lets up! At 45 pages, you get a great bang for your buck! We have hot dominant TWINS, Scott and Curt, who take charge over their feisty neighbor Lauren and they never let up. Between loving kisses and caresses, they flip and position Lauren as they need, dominating her every limb and making every fantasy a reality. Following Lauren's birthday "list" of activities she hoped for, they make sure the birthday girl is worked over and well loved.

There's some insta-love going on here and not much backstory, but who cares? It's a sensual onslaught from start to finish! Four hot, steamy stars!

This is most definitely a hot read, and Lauren definitely goes into this with an open mind and a desire to make her wish list come true – which is one of the most detailed lists I could ever imagine seeing! I just didn't need it to get to involved beyond that – particularly so quickly – I could have just imagined it moving forward.

For a short read with plenty of heat and a promise of a future, it was great.

When Kari moves to Texas in order to escape a stalker, she's just getting underway when her friends show varying degrees of concern and talk her in to attending a small party. While reluctant to go out because of her past, she finally agrees.

Slade is just home from a mission that didn't go as planned. While he and his men recuperate at his ranch, he is extended an invitation to a small party and agrees to get his men to show up too. While there, he sees Kari, someone he never thought he'd see again.

Kari and Slade pick up almost where they left off. However, with Kari seemingly jumpy, Slade knows something is up. While they rekindle their love affair, Kari's friends are trying to figure out who is still stalking her and why. While they are tracking down the stalker, Kari seems to relax into her new life. Things seem to be turning around for both her and Slade.

This story is predictable, but enjoyable. You have a satisfactory resolution and I can't wait to see if all of the other guys Slade works with will get their own story.

Joe used to be one of the best quarterbacks in the game. He had women hanging on his every word from high school to the NFL. Shay has been in love with Joe since they were kids, but she has seen how much of a player he truly is. When they both end up staying at her brother's alone Joe realizes she's not the brat she used to be and Shay still thinks he's a player. Can Shay see he's changed? Will Joe show her all his secrets?

I have to say the first couple chapters yanked me into this read. I loved the idea of the unrequited love from the older brother’s best friend, the tag-a-long little bratty sister. But then they dropped the ball somewhere and I started predicting the story line. No surprises, it was straightforward and a little boring. The secrets that were kept would have a normal man bragging from the rooftops to show his worth, Joe not so much.

I have read others by this author and really enjoyed them, this one just fell a little flat for me.

Being a huge sports romance fan, seeing the cover reveal for the book, and a definite follower of Ms. Holt's writing, I was delighted to be able to read this story.

It engaged me from the beginning and as frustrating as I found the inner musings of the two lead characters, it was amusing to read both their POVs. My desire to bang their heads together a few times was palpable! It worked though; the plot fitted together; the romance was seductive and steamy as well as somewhat cute and hesitant. The twist was almost inevitable, but at the same time was good for its lack of excessive drama.

I liked that it was about a football star post retirement, who stayed in the game, and yet suffers no angst, and gets on with the future (with the odd curveball, obviously). There was plenty of humour – mainly provided by Shay.

I am looking forward to more about this group of players.
