Red Wolves Motorcycle Club Box Set by Beth D. Carter

Along Came Merrie

Merrie stumbles into a bad situation, forcing an outlaw motorcycle gang to ‘deal’ with her, but her escape leads her into the arms of two incredible men who change her life forever.

Merrie Walden is in the wrong place at the wrong time. When she sees something she shouldn’t, she’s attacked by a vicious outlaw biker bent on shutting her up—permanently. She escapes him by jumping out of a moving car. Luckily, horse rancher Braden McClintock finds her and takes her for medical attention to his adopted brother, Leo Cloud Dancer.

As she heals in the men’s home, Merrie realizes that she’s falling for both men. Braden is taciturn, while Leo is outgoing—both reaching a deep-seated need in Merrie that she never knew she had.

However, the outlaw biker has discovered her hideout and even if she doesn’t know what she witnessed, he sure as hell does—and he wants her silenced. Will Merrie have a chance to have a happily ever after with Braden and Leo?

True North

Allison is running from her past when she’s kidnapped and left for dead. North and Givon are friends on opposite sides of the law but can they work together to save her—or will she save them instead?

North Tabion and Givon Halloran have been friends their entire lives. Each has survived an abusive father only to end up on opposite sides of the law as adults. Givon is the town sheriff while North is the leader of the Red Wolves, an outlaw motorcycle club. However, they’ve managed to maintain a friendship that means everything to them.

Allison Evening is on the run. Hiding out from an ex bent on vengeance, she’s tending bar when she’s kidnapped into a human trafficking ring. In a desperate attempt to free herself, she runs, only to be shot down and left for dead.

North and Givon are in the right place at the right time. They save Allison and, as they nurse her back to health, the three find a bright, burning love. But when her past catches up with her, the only way to save herself and her newfound love is if she, North and Givon can follow love’s true path.

When Dove Cries

Can two men, who don’t trust each other, protect a woman they both care for?

John Draven is vice president of the Red Wolves Motorcycle Club. While on a special run, he meets FBI Agent Cadence Vanaker again. Cade is the man who killed his cousin five years ago and the person he hates more than anyone. Now John is forced to work with him to take down a human trafficking ring operating in John’s hometown.

Cade wants more than anything to tell Draven he wasn’t the one who really killed his cousin, but he can’t reveal the truth and has to live with Draven’s hate as a result. When the two men find a woman half-dead and bound with zip ties, they both feel a need to protect her—and the need to be her only man.

Dove Aldrin is a sensitive young woman who was abducted and held prisoner. When she escapes, she falls into the path of two men determined to help her and to find the man responsible for treating her so cruelly. What she didn’t count on was falling for both John and Cade. How can she pick one over the other, especially when the two men despise each other?

Lily Roar

Lily is the link to ending the human trafficking ring. Now Branch and Charlie must do all they can to protect her.

Lily has almost given up believing she can escape from the clutches of the Master, the man who holds her as a sex slave in his mansion of degradation. When she has the opportunity to flee, she races into the night with a crippling fear that she could be captured.

Branch Barrigan, the enforcer of the Red Wolves Motorcycle Club, and Deputy Charlie Earenflight might be on opposite sides of the law, but they don’t hesitate to punish those who hurt women. Branch and Charlie make a pact to hunt down the head of the human trafficking organization. When they find Lily, they are unaware she’s the link they’ve been searching for.

The two men do all they can to protect her. In the process, they come to love her quiet strength. But Lily needs to learn to roar if she’s to survive the pain of her past and confront the evil that can rob her of a future.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆☆
4.5 stars Overall
M/F/M MC Romance

Book 1: Along Came Merrie
4 stars
M/F/M MC Romance
Triggers: Murder, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping

Merrie is just trying to start over. She feels like a failure and knows that she just has to push forward and keep moving. But when she finds herself lost, in the middle of a state she has never been to before, Merrie steps in a puzzle that is more complex than she can even imagine.

Braden lives his life on the ranch. But he knows that someone is out there for him. While driving home one day, he comes across Merrie. She's a mess. Braden knows that she needs help, but when he tries to bring her to the hospital, she threatens to run. The only other person that Braden knows that can help her is his brother, Leo.

After doing what they can to make sure that Merrie is safe, they also go a step further and bypass the local authorities, just in case. Merrie describes the local biker gang as those who tried to kill her and they won't take any chances with her life.

It will take everyone to figure out why someone would want to kill Merrie. There is romance, stubbornness, love, and danger all wrapped together in this story. I really liked watching Merrie grow up a little and how Braden and Leo were able to find their own happiness, as well as figure out what they truly wanted.

Book 2: True North
5 stars
M/F/M Romance
Triggers: Human trafficking, Stalking

Allison is supposed to keep moving, but she likes her job and is starting to like the town too. But when someone grabs her after her shift, she knows it's not for a good time. Allison is running and she's been a step ahead for a while now. But now, Allison has to get away. She is running for her life.

Givon and North have been friends since they were young boys. Both had very tough childhoods and they bonded over their abuse and neglect. But one went with the law, the other became an outlaw. Their friendship is solid, but they also have to contend with their respective families.

I liked watching Allison, Givon, and North together. They had an instant chemistry among them and I think that had to do more with the fact that Givon and North had history and a rapport already. Both had to deal with their alpha tendencies and when push comes to shove, one will have to choose a side.

Then when Allison's past comes racing towards her, she'll have to decide whether or not she can finally trust someone again. North and Givon will do everything in their power to show her that they are worth the risk.

A sweet story about finding a new path, love, and friendship. I enjoyed this a lot.

Book 3: When Dove Cries
4 stars
M/F/M romance and mystery

Dove is such a strong character right from the start. She escapes this horrible shed and wants to live. She never gives up. I love that about her character.

Then you have Cade and Draven. While their relationship is far more complicated, they start to work together to solve the mystery of who is trafficking the women?

The sex between the three of them is scorching and while they are still trying to solve the mystery, both men are so protective.

While I guessed who the "bad guy" was early on, it did not stop me from enjoying the book. Because I read the previous story, this one just added to the mystery and awesomeness of the series.

I would love to continue to read Carter’s books!

Book 4: Lily Roar
5 stars
M/F/M romance and mystery, Biker

Loved this book just as much as the last one. I really enjoy Carter's writing style.

Charlie, Lily, and Branch are all amazing characters in their own way; however, together they have explosive chemistry and create an amazing unit.

I also loved that you caught glimpses of the other characters from previous stories. While they do not play major roles, it was nice to see them interwoven together.

I can't write much more without wanting to give things away, so I'll just say that this is a series that just keeps on giving and I can't wait for more!

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I am a mom to an amazing little boy. I’m surrounded by friends and family. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my ereader, which I’ve named Ruby. I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web.

Erector Set Box Set by Desiree Holt

Erected

An accident, an unexpected meeting—and a sizzling attraction.

The first meeting between Josh McMann and Vanessa Bowen is anything but promising. He’s just finished a successful dinner with a client and she’s shrieking that someone’s stolen her brand-new car. The walking cast on her leg doesn’t help matters. Not a good way to start either a personal or business relationship…

One thing leads to another and soon her next collision is an off-the-charts one with Josh in bed. But there’s more than sex at stake here and it will take real commitment to get past the trust issues they both have.

Hammered

She was the one he didn’t want to run from—but she ran first.

Alex McMann is the financial brains behind the ride to stardom of McMann Brothers Development. He and his brothers, Josh and Tyler, cut a wide swathe in commercial development. The only place he can’t seem to get satisfaction is in the bedroom.

Enter Olivia, sharp, smart and sexy, who challenges him in and out of the bedroom and turns his life upside down. For the first time, he’s the one chasing the relationship and she’s the one walking away. Alex will need a miracle to convince her to take a chance on him—permanently.

Nailed

Why could he only find her when she appeared as Flame?

Tyler McMann—contractor by day, Dom by night. Jenyfer Mayhew—accountant by day, sought-after sub by night. She’s the masked Flame, the star of Finesse, an upscale private dungeon where the only numbers that count are how many strokes of the paddle a sub can take. Tyler is one of its best customers, a place where he can shuck the discipline of his work and indulge his fantasies. The chemistry between the two lights up the sky. But when he learns her real identity, he has to work hard to keep her from running and realize she can truly depend on him.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
Overall 4 stars
M/F Romances

Book 1: Erected
3 stars
M/F Romance

Josh is one of three brothers who own their own design and build firm. He has just closed a deal and is feeling pretty good when he runs in to Vanessa. She is having the worst night. Her car is missing, she's got a walking cast on, and she feels frazzled.

Their relationship is a whirlwind. They fall fast, despite neither of them wanting to. Vanessa has her own hang-ups and Josh doesn't believe he will ever find someone. It was somewhat of a young adult relationship feel throughout, since both of these characters were not great at relationships.

Overall, this was a quick read and ended just as abruptly as they started.

Book 2: Hammered
4 stars
M/F Romance
Triggers: Car accident

Alex McMann is one of the brothers in a design and build firm. When he walks to a big name firm to talk about a potential new job, the last thing he expects is to be instantly attracted to one of its associates.

Olivia, or Livy as she goes by, has had a raw deal in life. She comes from a family where she was never good enough. She hasn't ever really felt love and that has made her become hardened in her heart.

Livy and Alex agree to a friends with benefits arrangement. However, both of them are fighting their feelings like crazy. They have a fast growing relationship and with all of the things they have in common, in terms of work, staying away from each other proves to be very difficult.

When Alex and Livy find the edge of their cliff, it will take both of them to figure out if they can truly make their relationship into something meaningful, rather than just a series of hookups. I enjoyed this story a little more than the first one – it felt more complete. It was fun to watch them fight their attraction and decide how they wanted their life to go.

Book 3: Nailed
5 stars
M/F BDSM Romance
Triggers: Abuse

Jenyfer, also known as Flame, is a switch at a club that Tyler frequents. She is also a very successful accountant. She is not known for being overly affectionate with her coworkers and hides that part of herself away. Flame only allows herself to let go when she's at the club.

Tyler is the final brother to get his story. His brothers don't know about his sexual preferences, but he doesn't care. It's where he goes to let off steam. With all of the traveling that he has to do to keep on top of all of their jobs, Tyler sometimes just needs his own space.

When Tyler meets Flame for the first time, there is instant chemistry. Flame is his perfect match. When she refuses to show him who she really is, it only adds to her mystery. Their relationship, while a little unconventional, is also one that is almost purely honest. They know that there is an attraction but because of past trauma, Jenyfer isn't willing to mesh her club self with her professional self... until she meets Tyler. He's the first person that she might want to show both sides of herself to.

Tyler and Jenyfer will have to navigate long stays away due to work and Jenyfer's barriers around her heart. I really liked watching these two figure out their relationship. It was refreshing and a well-rounded story.

Food of Love Box Set by Justine Elyot

Highly Strung

If music be the food of love, no wonder orchestral life is so passionate.

The new violinist with the Westminster Symphony Orchestra knows she shouldn’t have a crush on its glamorous leader, Milan Kaspar, but Lydia just can’t help wanting a piece of the arrogant Czech virtuoso. Capturing his attention by refusing to play along with his plans for the orchestra, she soon finds herself drawn into his bed—a bed he shares with lovers of both sexes. But Lydia wants more than wild and inventive sex—she wants to get behind Milan’s sophisticated veneer, to find the man inside the performer. She seems doomed to failure, until a trip to his home country changes everything…

Musical Beds

Can hope come from heartbreak? Music and passion rule the lives of Milan and Lydia, building bridges between them even when all seems lost.

After Lydia leaves a grieving Milan behind in Prague, their tempestuous relationship seems to be over. But chance throws them back together again when Milan is given the career opportunity of a lifetime.

Lydia is thrown off course by his self-destructive behaviour and, as much as she loves him, she can't be sure that she will ever be able to live with him. Then the issue is further confused by the arrival of a handsome and intriguing conductor from Germany… Meanwhile, Lydia's friend Vanessa is finding herself strongly drawn to her percussionist colleague—a man young enough to be her son.

Affairs of the heart run riot through the Westminster Symphony Orchestra. Will they ruin an important television broadcast, or will the musicians find love and peace at last?

Close Harmony

How do you choose between two perfect men? It's like choosing your favourite music—certain pieces suit certain moods. Which mood is Lydia feeling the most?

The autumn season of the Westminster Symphony Orchestra finds Lydia unable to choose between passionate Milan and dominant Karl-Heinz—so she decides to give them both a chance. She hops from one bed to the other, trying to weigh up her options. Milan has a hold on her heart, but has never been reliable. Karl-Heinz is a good man, but what is the secret behind his strange repression? Old rivalries and new jealousies are kindled while Lydia works hard at having the time of her sex life.

No trio has ever practised quite as hard as this… But there is trouble in paradise for Ben and Vanessa, too, as a face from Vanessa's past makes an unwelcome appearance and all seems impossible to resolve.

Amid turbulent emotions and orchestra rehearsals, the musicians work hard to negotiate a path to happiness. Will music prove to be the food of love, or a poison, infecting the future?

Reader Advisory: These books contain BDSM, ménage relationships and bisexual characters, exhibitionism and voyeurism.

Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is a really enjoyable series, with a great thread of orchestral adventures, as well as very hot and steamy romances circled with more decadent liaisons, and somewhat scandalous behaviour. I was certainly grateful that I did not have to wait between books, as I would have been frustrated otherwise!

Book 1: Highly Strung

This is a great start to the Food of Love series – we get to meet the newly appointed violinist, Lydia, and see her fall down the rabbit hole that is Milan Kaspar. It is made clear early on that this is entirely normal, and something done by men and women alike, much to his delight. I love that Lydia, despite being fairly young and naive, sways from realising that a relationship is impossible, and that deep hope that she will be the one (or partly the one). She allows herself to widen her experiences – just a bit! – and is loyal, patient, and hopeful. Her friendship with percussionist Vanessa enables her to explore the other side of the story, and retain her good sense and ethics – especially with the conductor.

Even Milan starts to be a kinder character as he basks in Lydia's attention, even if he needs more than just one person to boost his ego. He is the epitome of sensual and selfish – but by the end, events take a turn which threaten to destroy him. He is undoubtedly a musical genius, but it would seem that Lydia is the one doing much of the teaching, as she patiently sticks by him and helps him revisit his roots whilst on tour in Prague. I was very glad that I read this book as part of a series, with the next book ready at my side, as I had to know what happened next.

I read a lot of music romances which tend to be rock band based, I really enjoyed the orchestral setting – with many more people, giving opportunity for factions, backstabbing, romance, and in this case, an inner circle of Milan acolytes.

Book 2: Musical Beds

Follow on from the tragedy in Prague, this book gives us another big surprise, as Milan gets his way in the orchestra and is given the chance to conduct and be lead violinist – his scheming has paid off. However, he behaves very badly and truly Lydia deserves far better. Again, Vanessa as a sounding post helps her settle her feelings, and even consider moving on.

The musical shenanigans and politics are once again a key part of the story, as clearly egos need to be fed and loyalties challenged. I shall be inventing much racier backstories for members of the orchestra at every concert I attend from now on! It is a great plot device as it enables Lydia to be once again beguiled by the new arrival, whilst still struggling with her feelings for Milan. Vanessa is a good sounding board, although her new romance is also a feature of this book – creating a brilliant juxtaposition of the very much besotted, loyal, and intense Ben with the men in Lydia's life.

Karl-Heinz gives something different to Lydia, and she gets close to him as Milan goes off the rails. Given how she thinks of herself, it is confusing her that she gets so much attention, but then maybe there are reasons of betrayal and revenge that are at work – I don't know how she managed to concentrate on playing her violin!

Book 3: Close Harmony

As Milan realises that he needs to work harder if he really wants Lydia, and Karl-Heinz stakes his claim, the now more worldly-wise Lydia decides to play them both at their game. She is open about the fact that she is going to enjoy them both, until she can make a decision. This more liberal minded woman is undoubtedly the result of the crazy that has gone on before, but it is hot and fun watching her come to the solution which will bring about the very best conclusion. Getting there is a lot of fun, and results in a wonderful climax to the trilogy.

None of this comes easily of course, so we get a great journey with a dramatic side romance for Vanessa and Ben. For Vanessa has neglected to mention a prior claim on her, which manifests itself in a new member of the orchestra. Thankfully her relationship with Ben is strong and if she can take the next step, all will be good. Her willingness to be wild and free on some occasions, and so cautious at others is beautifully written, and Ben is the perfect quiet hero. Such a difference from Milan and Karl-Heinz that is impossible to miss.

Blue Boys: The Boxed Set by Garrett Leigh Blog Tour

Three steamy bestselling novellas set within the Blue Boy world. All three novellas are set in and around the Los Angeles based Blue Boy Studio, an adult film company with a difference.

Bullet

Levi is a power top with an alcoholic mother, and a chip on his shoulder. Sonny’s a dancer with attitude and the biggest heart. Their scene together is just another day at work until Levi realises he’s falling hard for the twink he used to hate. Enemies to lovers is inevitable.

Bones

Skater boy Cam is a veteran actor at Blue Boy adult studio. Nursing an unrequited crush on his boss, he’s never needed anything else until kind-hearted Sasha rides into his life on his BMX. They share more than mutual attraction, and when Cam find himself in need of some healing comfort, friendship turns to love.

Bold

Go-go dancer Kai has never been the object of anyone’s desire, at least not for real, away from the adult studio where he films scene after scene from the bottom. Then quiet Matthew enters his life. A scene with a difference comes to call, if Kai can figure out how to truly own Matthew, inside and out.

All three novellas guarantee a happily-ever-after.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is a collection of three novellas which all link together, but tell three unique romances, with plenty of steamy times, which are not all in the shower!

Bullet

As we get to know the men at the Blue Boy studio, and associated Silver bar – complete with a dance floor and poles – we start to appreciate just how much of a relaxed atmosphere there is, but also that the boss, Jon, is keen to follow the money. In this case, persuading top Levi to bottom. Fellow blue boy Sonny is worried about him – after all, not only has Levi never bottomed, but also because Rex is really not who one would want for his first! As the two men spend time together, they realise that there may be something more between them, something which neither has experienced before. I really enjoyed getting a behind the scenes view of the porn business and more especially why the men do it, and why they may also stop.

Bones

Cam has been close with Sonny and Levi for years, and whilst he is happy for them, he does feel that he has lost friends who he can confide in, as he feels he is being ever dragged into Jon's kinky private world. He is not entirely sure he wants to be there at all, and his dad is wondering when he is going to use his degree. Throw in meeting BMX shop owner Sasha and making a disturbing discovery in the shower, and Cam is feeling very unsettled. He is, however, not one to ignore the uncomfortable, and his active pursuit of solutions is endearing and encouraging. I was really impressed by his lack of procrastination. We also get to catch up a little on Sonny and Levi, and it doesn't seem to be quite as bright as in Bullet.

Bold

Things have changed at Blue Boys studios, which is definitely a good thing as Jon was really not so nice a guy. New owners Mac and Jude suggest that quiet, studious Matthew and dancer Kai might scene together, and that they spend some time together in preparation. This leads to a really sweet friendship and gives Kai in particular a chance to see beyond the limitations he believes he has. Having people who believe in him, and who even are prepared to help him get his GED, finally makes him feel valued. And after a life changing incident, he is ready to make Matthew the focus of his attention. I have to say that the descriptions of Kai's flat were far too vivid!!

Each of these novellas builds a picture of a close family, who are much more comfortable being close physically than most friends would be, but who both give space and support to each other. They are sexy, innocently romantic, and individual, and I really loved getting to know them all better.

Shannan – ☆☆☆☆
I found myself really invested in the Blue Boys characters. I loved Levi and Sonny, but Cam and Sasha were my favorite. I was left wanting more in Bold because I needed to know what is going on with Sonny and how Levi is going to help fix it. I really hope there is more to this series. Quick sexy reads that aren't just about the sex make this worth the read!

Bullet

Levi is a power top who doesn't give much regard to his bottoms. He goes through the motions to get the job done. Porn was always means to an end. Taking care of his alcoholic mother and his own bills is expensive. He loves working on motorcycles, porn was just his money maker. When he's told he needs to do a scene with Sonny, he isn't happy. Sonny is gorgeous but not someone Levi can stand. When Sonny questions Levi's style, he starts to see things from a different perspective. Can Levi trust his instincts with Sonny? Can Sonny be the one Levi needs?

Bones

Cam is the sweet top. He's worried about his bottom’s pleasure. All the bottoms love working with him and his big smile. He's been subbing for the owner of the studio but something just doesn't feel right with the relationship (if you can call it that) and within his scenes lately. When he meets Sasha, the owner of the bike shop, he's attracted to him. He's not in the porn business but he understands it's Cam's job. After an intense make-out session with Sasha, Sasha pulls away from Cam. Cam not understanding the reason is hurt and confused. Cam finds something he knows isn't right and the last person he expects to understand is Sasha. Can Sasha help him heal? Will Cam let Sasha help him through the toughest part of his life?

Bold

Kai worked as a go-go dancer before he moved over to the Blue Boys studio. He has a huge crush on Levi from one of Levi's last scenes. He's everything he thinks he would need but he's with his best friend Sonny. Kai has just been going through the motions lately. He needs more but he doesn't know what. The new owners of the studio, Mac and Jude, tell him to think about what he wants, and they can make it happen. Kai has no idea what that is until Cam brings up the idea of Kai topping the soft-spoken newest model, Matthew. Kai isn't sure this is something he can do but he is willing to try. One of his best scenes was with Sonny because they were friends first and it was just fun. Kai is hoping becoming friends first with Matthew will make it easier to be a top. Being around each other is easy and when they start experimenting, Kai can't keep Matthew off his mind. Can Kai really top someone? Is it what he needs?

Tales from The Edge Box Set: Part Two by L.M. Somerton

Rough Around the Edges

Can a new beginning be found in leather and chains?

Kai Smithson’s life changes dramatically with his first glimpse into the world of BDSM. Completely innocent, Kai can hardly believe his eyes, but he knows what he likes and apparently that’s hot, dominant men in leather. He isn’t sure if he’s a submissive because he doesn’t really know what that means, but the feelings he is experiencing are exciting and new.

Harry Croft, bar manager at The Underground BDSM Club, believes in insta-lust rather than love at first sight. And when he agrees to train Kai, the contract between them has one condition—no sex. But Kai has some very definite plans about losing his virginity and a piece of paper is not going to stand in his way. In his new friends at the club and at The Edge, Kai has a ready-made support group of subs that show him that the only rules in a D/s relationship are those he wants to make for himself.

The old saying that you can choose your friends but not your family is proved horribly true for Kai, as the mysteries of his past are revealed. As he and Harry start out on their journey together, they must contend with bullets as well as bondage, danger alongside domination, and it’s not easy to establish trust when the whole world is going to hell..

Scorched Edges

Love forged in fire is unassailable.

Fireman Salter Beauman, Beau to his friends, has had his eye on cute Marty Standish ever since he helped rescue Marty and his boss from the bombed out rubble of Temple Church. An analyst for the security services, Marty is cute, geeky and submissive through and through—even if he doesn’t know it yet.

With a serial fire starter making inroads into Beau’s life expectancy, he decides that there is no time to waste and introduces Marty to the D/s lifestyle. Marty responds with wide eyes, an insatiable desire to learn and the ability to turn Beau on with nothing more than a wiggle of his slim hips.

But Beau has a second, far more malevolent admirer. ‘See me dance’ is the message left at a series of increasingly dangerous fires. Beau and Marty must work together to catch a psychotic arsonist before their love goes up in flames. Literally.

Driven to the Edge

Not all limits can be negotiated.

The Edge is reaching a major milestone. After ten years in business together, Doms Joe Dexter and Heath Anders are planning a celebration and new beginnings. But even the best-laid plans can be thrown off course.

When Olly, Joe’s beloved sub, gets caught up in a hostage situation involving Special Forces soldiers, PTSD and blood diamonds, a party is the last thing on Joe’s mind. He hates the lack of control, and the thought of losing Olly takes him close to the edge.

Joe is not the only one reassessing his priorities. Olly needs Joe’s strength more than ever. He feels safe only in Joe’s arms or in his bondage.

Can Joe and Olly find sanctuary in each other or will their latest adventure drive them apart?

Binding the Edges

Never let go of the one you love.

After recent traumatic events, Olly is finding it hard to get his head around what happened. While he tries to deal with a maelstrom of emotions, renovations at The Edge are in full flow, alongside preparations for tenth anniversary celebrations. Joe, his Dom, recognizes Olly’s delicate state of mind and does his best to reassure him. A trip to the New Forest with their friends, Aiden and Heath, helps the healing process.

Returning home, Olly and Aiden focus on preparations for the party. When Aiden is called away, Olly takes a walk to clear his head, keeping his eye on a brewing storm. To his horror, he discovers Mark Vickery, an old enemy, has landed on the island by boat and is out for revenge.

With Olly missing and the storm raging, Joe, Heath and Aiden set out on a rescue mission that unfolds in a way none of them expected. Can the storm wash away the past or will Olly and Joe’s future be destroyed by a twist of fate?

Reader Advisory: These books contain scenes of sexual abuse and references to physical abuse, violence and a hostage situation and characters who have extremely prejudiced views.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/M BDSM Romance

All in all, these were somewhat redundant in their themes. However, they were still enjoyable, as long as you've read the previous books too, so that you know what's going on.

Book 5: Rough Around the Edges
4 stars
M\M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Conversion therapy, attempted kidnapping, murder

Kai and Harry start out slow in their relationship, but their connection is instant. With Kai under the protection of Harry, they have a mystery to figure out. Why was Kai sent away and why was his uncle keeping things from him?

With Kai being brave with exploring his desires, Harry is all too excited to be the one to show him. I really enjoyed watching them figure out how their relationship was going to work. The protective instincts that Harry has towards Kai are somewhat fatherly, but overall, his actions are more of a lover and partner.

I liked watching the mystery behind Kai's family and why he was sent to conversion therapy. I liked how the friends came to the rescue and showed both Harry and Kai that their relationship was what they wanted to make of it.

Book 6: Scorched Edges
4 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Arson

Beau is a firefighter and he loves what he does. Normally, he's so tired after a shift that he goes to the club for dinner, but nothing else. However, when he meets Marty, he can't help but love the connection.

Marty isn't a sub, per se, but he knows that it interests him. He works with the secret government agency alongside Aiden, but he also is deeply attracted to people giving him orders.

When Beau finds himself the focus of a firebug, it will take all of the people around him to help figure out who is targeting him and why. Marty will need to decide if he can handle being a sub, knowing that Beau is put in danger for his job.

These two find themselves in a relationship that is very similar to Kai and Harry. The difference is mainly how they like to play. But it was a quick relationship start and their lust drove their relationship forward.

Book 7: Driven to the Edge
5 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Kidnapping

This is more about Olly and his master, Joe, and how their relationship developed and evolved over the years. I have always liked Olly. His mouth gets him in trouble, but he loves every second of it. Joe is firm, but also wrapped around Olly's finger.

When Olly finds himself in the middle of a strange situation, he can't help but feel that Joe is with him. Joe feels somewhat helpless but knows that Olly is strong. I really enjoyed this story and found that it was my favorite in the series.

The soldiers are fun to watch and I loved how they fit right in. I hope that they get their own stories, especially after the issues they had with their own members.

Book 8: Binding the Edges
3.5 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Stalking, Attempted kidnapping and murder

Again we see Olly. He's now recovering from the ordeal from the previous book. Joe is trying to help him and keeps a fairly large secret in order to protect Olly. However, everyone around them knows and tries to keep things as normal as possible.

These two have such a strong connection. Their love is so deep. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow and be shaped throughout these books. However, with that being said, I wanted more of this book to be about their relationship.

There were so many different details within the story that I felt that their relationship kind of got lost. And when you throw in the monkey wrench that is the crux of this book, their communication breakdown makes them more realistic. They seemed like the couple to strive for, but with this, it makes them more relatable too.

Lucinda lives in a small village in the English countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, cows and sheep. She started writing to fill time between jobs and is now firmly and unashamedly addicted.

She loves the English weather, especially the rain, and adores a thunderstorm. She loves good food, warm company and a crackling fire. She's fascinated by the psychology of relationships, especially between men, and her stories contain some subtle (and some not so subtle) leanings towards BDSM.

Tales from The Edge Box Set: Part One by L.M. Somerton

Reaching the Edge

When you reach the edge, you can't avoid taking a leap of faith.

Joe Dexter leads a complicated life. In one world he is a consultant criminal psychologist—in another he runs The Edge, a successful corporate training company. He's also an active Dom in the London BDSM scene.

A social call to The Underground, a club owned by an old friend, turns into much more when Joe is introduced to a prospective sub. Falling hard for the boy's tumbling blonde curls, huge blue eyes and desperate need for protection, Joe carefully coaxes him out of his shell. By the end of an intense weekend, unbreakable bonds have been forged and Joe is well on the way to becoming Olly's Master.

Joe knows that there is trauma in Olly's past, but it is not until his professional and private lives collide that Joe discovers the truth. He knows he shouldn't have let Olly out of his sight but it's too late—Olly's old Master is back on the scene and he's not in the mood to forgive and forget.

With Olly's life on the line, Joe risks everything to save him. Has Joe found his perfect submissive only to lose him in a horrible twist of fate, or will love win the day? They've reached the edge and there's no avoiding a leap of faith.

Living on the Edge

Sometimes it takes willpower to resist temptation but courage to give in.

Aiden Keller is a brilliant and intriguing young man. When he's convicted of hacking, his sentence takes him to The Edge, a high-end corporate training company with a mysterious sideline. There he is given into the custody of its owner, the enigmatic and demanding Heath Anders, and his business partner Joe Dexter.

From the moment Heath takes charge of Aiden he recognises the boy's submissive nature, even though it is well hidden beneath a veneer of snarky attitude. But for twelve months, Aiden will be his responsibility and Heath cannot allow himself to get involved whilst the boy is obliged to obey him.

Aiden settles into his new life with the help of Olly, Joe's pretty, submissive boyfriend, who is very perceptive when it comes to noticing the sparks of attraction flying between Aiden and Heath. Slowly and gently, he teaches Aiden that submission is not a weakness and to accept his desire to be dominated.

Unable to resist, Heath starts to test Aiden's willingness to be obedient, and against all the odds, love (and lust) start to bloom. Aiden, however, is not quite what he seems and his past is about to endanger all their lives.

Dancing on the Edge

Life is a dance. Whether you lead or follow, the passion of it should sweep you away.

Carey and Alistair have the kind of relationship that is the envy of their friends. Carey is an old-fashioned Dom who appreciates quiet obedience. Alistair is a sub who is comfortable in his skin and finds peace in his submission. Needless to say, their happiness is too good to last.

When Alistair's powerful father chooses his reputation over his son, all hell is let loose. Forcibly committed to a clinic for reversion therapy, Alistair can only hope that his lover will save him.

Carey calls on his friends from The Edge and they band together not just to rescue Alistair but also to protect his future. They've all flirted with danger in the past—but friendship is worth any risk. As the tension mounts and the stakes get higher, new bonds are forged but will Carey and Alistair's love survive?

A Double-Edged Sword

How do you stay standing when the ground is torn from beneath your feet?

Becket and Christian are taking the first, tentative steps towards the committed D/s relationship they both crave when the world literally explodes around them. In a frightening reversal of roles, Becket has to deal with his own vulnerability and Christian must find the strength to take care of his Dom. With the help of their friends at The Edge, the two men come to realise that dominance and submission cannot be switched on and off.

Events that could have ended in tragedy provide the catalyst that affirms their trust in each other, but there are still questions to answer. Is the safe path always the right one to take? Is control simply a state of mind?

One thing’s for certain, life’s too short for compromise.

Reader Advisory: These books contain the pushing of boundaries and edging, kidnap, forceful imprisonment and forms of visual torture along with scenes of prolonged physical torture. They also contains characters with extreme prejudiced views. There are references to past rape and current PTSD, non-consensual plot elements including sexual assault.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆☆
M/M BDSM Romances

The box set as a whole was between a 4 and 5 star. There was some redundancy, but overall, these were unique couples in unique situations.

Book 1: Reaching the Edge
4 stars
M\M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Abuse, kidnapping

This story was sweet. Joe is a psychologist who is also living a lifestyle as a dom. He has known for a while now that he wants to have a long-term sub, but hasn't found the right guy. When his friends set him up, Joe is none the wiser.

Olly has been in a long-term relationship, but when he realizes that his dom doesn't love him the way he thought, Olly is crushed. To make matters worse, Olly is subjected to a prison riot that leaves its own scars.

When Joe sees Olly, it's an insta-love connection. While I am not particularly happy about that and wish that they had more time to build a foundation, I can understand the constraints of the length of the book.

Overall, this was a quick read, with some intrigue, action, and love. I liked the story okay and hope to see these characters again since Olly made me laugh.

Book 2: Living on the Edge
5 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Terrorism

This was still a short book, but we got to see the characters from the previous story and meet Aiden and Heath.

Aiden seems to be a petulant young guy who has an eye for hacking. When he comes before a judge, despite being kind of sullen, Aiden is also scared. While he knows what he’s in for when the judge offers him a different path, he has no choice but to take it.

Heath isn’t quite sure what to make of his new charge. While his dad asks this of him from time to time, Heath wants to bend Aiden over and make him submit to him. It’s difficult for Heath because while he knows that Aiden is a sub, Heath can’t do anything about it while Aiden is under his supervision for his court sentence.

Once Heath and Aiden figure out where they stand with each other, the story turns into more of a mystery. I liked how everyone was involved in this story. I also liked how Heath loved that Aiden was a sub but didn’t act as a stereotypical sub.

Book 3: Dancing on the Edge
5 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Conversion therapy, kidnapping, attempted murder

Carey is a dom who loves his sub, Alistair. However, when Alistair’s father comes back to haunt them, it will take all of the subs and doms to work together in order to get Alistair back in one piece.

Alistair’s dad is one who is beyond help. He has never accepted his son and rather than let Alistair live in peace, he wants to exert control over him and convert him to be “good.”

While this is fairly self-explanatory, it should be said that there are hints of torture in this book and while it’s not super graphic, you get the picture.

I really enjoyed watching this all be planned out and the results. It was a good feeling when they were able to execute their plan without fail and gather information on Alistair’s father too.

Book 4: A Double Edged Sword
4 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Bombs

Becket has been seen throughout this series and I’m so happy that he finally got his own story. Becket is a hard man to know. He isn’t easily read by his emotions and he has a hardness that the other doms simply don’t have. Due to Becket’s job, Christian knows that it could be dangerous, but when that danger hits incredibly close to home, both Becket and Christian will have to decide if their budding relationship can handle the stress and danger.

Becket knows that Christian is exactly who he has been looking for. They have a connection that Becket hasn’t been able to find with any other sub. But he also knows that he has been neglecting Christian for his job lately, and because of that, Becket will seriously have to consider his profession.

Christian just wants to please Becket and live a fulfilling life. When he lands a job that he loves and realizes that Becket is exactly what he has been looking for, Christian will have to believe that his dom will always be around to take care of him.

These two have a strong connection, but with the action that happens in the book, I felt that the relationship piece was kind of pushed to the side. However, I loved their relationship in the bedroom and even in the real world. Both realized they were what they needed and even with the dangers, maybe they can keep each other safe and happy.
