I am a faithful Donovans family fan, so am delighted that we get to do a bit of a catch up with them, whilst enjoying a new branch of the family based in Sweetbriar Ridge!

Levi was so bad at what happened between his parents that he left town swearing never to return – and also somewhat scared that he would turn out like his dad. He has a playboy lifestyle, which finally catches up with him and he ends up back home, staying with one of his sisters. He finds out the hard way that reputations can be damaged in seconds and are difficult to repair.

As he repairs his relationships with his sisters, he also finds himself intrigued by a woman – something which never happened before. And the fact that she is a single mom and someone who would never leave her hometown add to his confusion over his feelings for her.

Jade is a survivor, and even after the malicious gossip and actions of her young son's estranged grandparents, she believes that her new business can be a success. Her parents, thankfully, have always been super supportive and now, Levi Donovan is in town and paying her attention!

As these two find out a lot about how misunderstandings in the past have shaped their futures, they also find a way to try and make a go of what is clearly incredible chemistry and love. The road may not be smooth, but at least part of the journey is full of fun for a single mom and her new beau. I liked how we had some input from the original Donovan clan to help this burgeoning romance cement its future.

I am already looking forward to the next in the series! I hope there are more cousins hiding out somewhere else too!
