This is a really good read – but at 600 odd pages, it is wordy! I am a big fan
of hockey romances, and this one does a good job of giving the reader plenty of
hockey games and politics, as well as a very engaging romance. There are,
however, lots of other issues at play, which certainly makes this a complex
read at times.
At its heart, Liam – the kid billeted at Gracie's family home – is now
recovering from a horrific event, and no longer prepared to wait to get his
girl. Grace – the ignored daughter in a house full of hockey-playing brothers
and billets – long ago escaped to make her own way. I absolutely loved this
about her, she was an excellent example of taking hold of the issues in one's
life and taking control. Thankfully her independence did not stop her really,
really liking spending time with Liam!
Find yourself a quiet spot and enjoy the world of the Stars and a really fun
and sexy romance.
As an aside, I do believe that this is a book worth expending the time on, but
I do wonder whether some judicious editing wouldn't have delivered just as rich
a story with a few less pages. I say this only because people will be deterred
and thus miss out.
