Charlotte Locke is a fabulous new heroine from Jennifer Estep. Set in a magical

I have to admit that Charlotte was slightly disappointing at the start of this
story. In the first few scenes, she’s a little bland, a little helpless, and
pretty much pathetic. And then. Then we get to see the real Charlotte. She’s a
match for Desmond in every way. Clever, lethal, and loyal, Charlotte is
fabulous. I love her powers, her unlikely skillset, and her brain that is
always several steps ahead of everyone else.
I already love this series. It’s another fabulous, original world from one of
my favourite storytellers. I like that this is more action than romance.
Charlotte and Desmond are a team – but they don’t fully trust each other.
Desmond is lethal, skilled, and determined to track down the man who killed his
best friend. The sexual tension between them is fabulous but Charlotte deserves
more than an easy happily ever after. I can’t wait to see what’s next for her.
