Night Games by Collette West Review Tour

The moment Grey Kelleher locks eyes with All-Star shortstop Chase Whitfield, she's a goner. For years, she's watched him play on TV, and now she's gazing at his hard, lean body across a bar in her hometown.

Grey's crush on Chase goes all the way back to his rookie season. So when she approaches him for an autograph, she's startled by what a jerk he can be.

Chase is no mood to humor his fans, even one as alluring as Grey. He's in the last year of his contract and stuck having to prove himself on a minor league team. He's only there to rehab an injury, nothing more.

But when Grey tells him off, Chase realizes her fiery spirit may be just the distraction he needs to take his mind off not being in the majors. His heart is safe. No one's going to break his streak as baseball's most eligible bachelor. Not even someone as irresistible as Grey.

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆
Grey loves baseball and is excited when her favorite player, Chase Whitfield, is rehabbing in her local hometown. What she doesn't expect is the mask of hostility that Chase is wearing.

Chase is hurt physically and hurting mentally. His whole adult life has been spent as a baseball player. If his knee can't perform, he's out of baseball for good. Feeling lost and snubbed for being sent to Hicksville USA to rehab, he lets his anger loose.

Intrigued by the woman that stood up to him, he wants to get to know her better. Grey senses that there is more to Chase that what meets the eye, but she's not sure she wants to put up with the constant mood swings that seemingly define Chase Whitfield.

I really liked this book. I thought the story tended to drag in some places but thought the author did an excellent job in explaining the emotions of the characters.

Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball's biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette's impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.

Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. When she's not clicking away on her laptop, she enjoys walking her dog in Central Park, satisfying her caffeine craving at the Starbucks on Broadway and keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. But above all, she loves dishing with her readers.

Intimidator by Cari Silverwood Book Tour

Willow has her hands full scraping out a life in a grungy neighborhood where drugs and crime are the norm. Life is hard, but it's about to get harder. Being transformed into a sexual pet for an alien warrior may be her only way out.

But Stom, the man she's been awarded to as a battle honor, has no use for a female, not when his heart is still in a million pieces.

Though the need to be Stom's mate is overwhelming her, mending his heart isn't going to be enough. His enemies are searching, looking for the women who are more than they seem, but she's in their hands before she discovers she's more-than-human.

Sometimes it sucks to be a chosen one.

All the cravings of the past day or so resurrected in a small tsunami. Lust. In front of Willow, was a man who embodied that in every molten move, in every cell of his well-sculpted body.

“I’m bad?” she whispered.

“You. Mmm.” Stom lowered his head and scented her neck, lips pressing on her, here, there – kisses that stirred her more than they should, because they promised so much. Where else might he kiss? Drifts of air cooled her where his nose touched her skin, where he breathed on her.

“Bad. Definitely.” Then he licked her neck, slowly, in one helluva long caress with his tongue, like a predator tasting his mate, before he kissed her softly again.

She shivered. I don’t know this guy. Not really. Am I such a slut?

“You’re beautiful. And you smell so good I want to eat you all up, every time I’m near. Why the fuck is that?”

The tinge of menace made her go up on her toes.

Then he bit the side of her neck, hard.

She keened, threatened by, enraptured by, the savagery of his teeth sinking into her muscle. Helpless, she shut her eyes. She tried not to let her collapsing legs make her slide down the tree trunk and straight to the ground. She had no wish to look like a weak female unable to resist...cause if she did, it seemed like he might take her, here, now.

His teeth let go.

Fucked against a tree. God. What an idea.

Where he held her wrists onto the bark, she tugged again, but even with a hurt hand his grip was fierce.

What had she done? She’d thought Stom the sort of man who needed an invitation to get going. Seemed as if shooting him had done the trick. Next time she wanted a date, she’d put a bullet in him.

He put his mouth to her ear, nuzzling her there, while he explored her below – fondling her breast, her belly, and her hip, then tugging up her T-shirt. He took a handful of her breast like he owned it, and squeezed so much it hurt.

Something about being forced against the tree, about him making her stay there while he played with her body, sizzled through her like lightning through rain.

The Epilogue for Precious Sacrifice is located at the beginning of this book, which is very interesting and ties the 2 stories together ;)

I have to say that I really like the Aliens that Ms. Silverwood has created in these books. They are from different worlds, they are well defined, they are emotional, and they are very intelligent beings.

While this story follows the same course as the 1st, there is much more going on in Willow & Stom's story.

The evil Bak-lal are invading various planets, causing extermination of species -and ultimately planets. The Preyfinders are attempting to stop the invasion of Earth. Oddly, though, they are "bonding" with women on a deeper level then they're aware of, and find that they really need each other in the epic battle against the enemy.

This story contains romance (general & erotic...lots of erotic), action, some angst, and a bit of suspense. It was a quick, sexy read, and I want to read more about these characters!!

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆

He glanced over. The light silvered her, worshipping the undulations of her body -- the upper curves of her breasts where they spilled from the neckline of her T-shirt, her lips, her cheekbones, the sweet curls of her black hair around her ears. She was, he fumbled for the as yet unused human word...dead sexy. Hot. Willow was someone he'd like to handle for more than just for a kiss.

Tragedy doesn't care if you are human or alien -- it wreaks havoc with everyone. Neither Stom nor Willow are looking for anything more than to just get through one day to the next.

As an "honor", Stom is sent to Earth to find a woman, a pet, to ease his soul. Little does anyone know, the pain inside him cannot be healed.

Willow, is one payday away from oblivion. Taking care of her cousin, Ally, who can't be around people for more than a few hours at time, has caused her world to shrink down to work and caring for Ally.

Looking into the eyes of Stom, Willow sees more than the hard exterior that he projects. Stom fights against the storm of emotion that flows within him, knowing that all he can offer is more pain.

Alien or not, Willow finds herself falling for Stom, but can the demons of her world and his tear them apart or bring them together?

Once again, looking forward to the next installment of the Preyfinders.

Shelby – ☆☆☆☆
This was a well written Sci-fi erotic romance: it's short, it's sexy, and it's sweet (but not too sweet). I liked the storyline and felt like a lot of story was written in a small book (that's a good thing)!

Brittany is dealing with the loss of her boyfriend, a year ago, and trying to go through the motions of life.

Jadd is an exiled alien warrior, who is given a second chance at service by coming to Earth and proving he can be a Preyfinder.

And Brittany is the prey...and all of Earth's fate is based upon her ability to succumb to the alien’s trials. ;)

I'm sincerely looking forward to the 2nd book in this series!!

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆
Aliens have feelings too. Trained from a young age to obey his commanders, Jadd falters in the heat of battle and is sent to Earth as punishment.

Brittany is just trying to make a better life for herself. Working and going to school, she can feel that a change is about to happen and she fears it’s something bad.

Brittany's unconditional acceptance of her future only makes Jadd fall deeper for her, but will it make a difference in the end?

I'm ready for book two to learn more about the Preyfinders.

Love Always, Kate by d. Nichole King Blog Tour

Dear Diary,

Leukemia’s been my life since I was eleven. Now, six years later, I want my life back. Only I’m not sure what that is.

The test results came back today. 22,000. Which means I’m officially out of remission—again.

I have three options:
1. Another round of chemo.
2. A super-new experimental drug.
3. Dump it all— forget the meds and treatments and enjoy the time I have left.

I think I know what I want.

Then, in walks Damian, changing everything.

I mean, everything.

He’s got his own set of issues. It binds us together, you know? We understand what it’s like to lose what matters most in seconds.

Still, the last thing I need is to have someone else to crush if I can’t fight hard enough. And the last thing he needs is someone else to grieve.

Never mind. I’m down to two options now.

Somehow I know that whichever one I choose, the result will be the same. With the sand in my hourglass seeping to the bottom, I hope there’s enough left to show Damian that life’s worth living. Worth fighting for.

Worth dying for.

Love Always,
Kate

Damian sighed and adjusted his nametag. “I’m the son of Jackson Lowell, Doctor Extraordinaire. That means I have a lot of time to myself. I play the guitar. Write music. I’ve beaten every Assassin’s Creed game. And I don’t live up to my father’s expectations. Hell, I don’t know if I live up to anyone’s expectations.”

“I’m sure your dad just wants you to be happy.”

Damian grunted. “Whose definition of happy? His? Mine?” His eyebrows rose. “Yours?”

I shrugged. “Doesn’t happy only have one definition?”

“Does it? Are you happy?”

I thought about it for a few moments. I had beaten my disease twice before, and I was determined to do it again. More than anything, I was happy just to be alive. “Yeah, I am.”

His eyes narrowed. “Having a tube sticking out of your chest, being hooked up to toxic drugs, getting sick—that makes you happy?”

“Oh, well, no. But…”

“Not that easy, is it?” The edge in his voice pricked at me. I couldn’t tell if he was talking about me or himself.

“The outcome of—”

“You don’t know the outcome.” He sounded angry, his eyes blazing. “You only hope it will make you happy. When it might kill you. That’s reality.”

I pulled my lips tight. “True, but it makes my parents happy to see me fight.”

“Bullshit. They’re not happy having a daughter who has to battle cancer. And if you die, well, how can they be happy about that?”

“If—”

Damian cut me off. “Yeah. If. So much is based on that word, and there are no fucking guarantees attached to it. What makes you happy now may be what destroys you later. Or those you love. Then what? Sometimes, being happy isn’t worth the risk.”

“And sometimes it is,” I said quietly.

Damian brightened again, offering a slight smile. “See what I mean? Nothing in this shithole life is easy.”

“Just because it’s not easy, doesn’t mean it’s not worth it.”

“So tell me then, is it worth it?” His blue eyes searched mine. “Worth all the time in this place?”

Jacki – ☆☆☆☆
This book is Lifetime Movie material! It was sweet, emotional, and real to me. Almost everyone nowadays is somehow linked to cancer. We all know someone who has it, died from it, or is related to someone who has dealt with it. I have had family and friends die and survive it. This book reminded me of all of that, good and bad. I can't imagine going through what the characters did, but in many ways I found myself relating. Katie's cancer was an all too real reminder of how much we take life for granted and how it affects all ages and every person involved. The impact it has on each of the characters makes for a deeply emotional and yet inspiring read. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to get out of a reading "rut" of the everyday genres. I'd grab the tissues and find a quiet place to absorb this story. It was genuine and sweet and I am glad I read it.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!

Since I was born and raised in Iowa, I like to create stories where my home state is the setting. There's nothing like small-town Midwest scenery to create the perfect backdrop for an amazing tale!

I've always loved to read and write. I'll read anything: Classics, fantasy, contemporary, mystery, horror. It doesn't matter as long as it draws me in. As a kid, I was raised on authors such as Lurlene McDaniel, R.L. Stine, Danielle Steele, Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King, and Shakespeare.

Writing-wise, my fondness lies in the YA/NA genre, though I do have a couple of women's fiction stories swimming around in my head.

When not writing, I'm usually curled up with a book, scrapbooking, or doing yet another load of laundry.

Along with her incredible husband, I live in small-town Iowa with my four adorable (yet ornery) children and their dog, Peaches.

The Spirit is the first book of The Spirit Trilogy, and is my debut novel.

“Here,” he said, handing her a business card. “Text me your address, and—”

“Address?” Her heart kicked up a notch.

“Yeah, tomorrow’s my day off. I won’t be at the shop. I’ll come to your place, say, around one?”

“But—” she tried to argue.

“Now,” he interrupted, disregarding her feeble attempt at a protest, “I’m gonna shove off, but before I go…” He pulled her against him, secured his arms around her waist, and gazed down into her eyes. “Let’s do this.”

“What?” Her heart hit the gas, sped up, and was ready to leap out of her chest, skid right past him, and end up somewhere in the middle of the street.

“Like I keep sayin’, those big, beautiful eyes of yours are nothing but a couple of tattletales.” His husky tone stroked her everywhere as his arms tightened around her. “Kiss me, Kaley.” His head moved downward. “We both know you know you want to.” He bent closer, his tempting mouth nearly brushing hers. “And I’m not going anywhere ‘til I give you what you want.”

His last few words were enough to push her through the space between them, for her lips to fall onto his. He was right. She did want to kiss him, and when their lips finally locked, that kiss was nothing short of amazing. His mouth wasn’t just tempting to look at. He knew exactly what to do with it. Against his warm, strong lips, feeling his moist, thick tongue, Kaley had forgotten that they were standing on a street in downtown Burbank. No longer could she hear the cars whizzing past them or the people walking by. All that existed in the world was Lucky and the spell he casted over her with that kiss. Only when he pulled his head back, breaking their connection, did everything around her swirl back into motion.

As Kaley caught her breath, Lucky gazed down at her from behind a curtain of long, thick lashes, his hazel eyes sparkling with reckless naughtiness. The tip of his finger touched her tingling mouth. He slid it downward and gently pinched her chin. Lifting those heavy lids, he looked at her with that sexy little grin. “Until tomorrow, love.” He bent down, stole one last kiss from her wanting mouth before he turned, and, as he had called it, “shoved off” down the street.

Lucky Numbers Dream Cast

Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
Lucky is a tatted up bad boy. I'll be honest and tell you tats do nothing for me. Until now. Lucky was delicious. He is strong, confident, intelligent and hot. The chemistry between Lucky and Kaley was well done and you could feel it right from the get go.

I liked the premise of the story. This is a fun, sexy read and at times unexpectedly emotional - tears were shed.

Lucky Numbers is book 3 in Kelly Gendron's TroubleMaker series and while each story is about I different couple I'd recommend you read them in order because in Lucky Numbers you spend time with characters from the previous books and also because all three books are worth reading.

I'm looking forward to reading book 4 in this series, Finder Fees, which is due out this year.

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆
Kaley, tired of being America's good girl, finds herself in a tattoo shop with her drunken friend Marissa and a drunk off his a$$ tattoo artist. When Marissa maces him, in walks bada$$ owner, Lucky O'Conner.

Lucky knows trouble when he sees it, and Kaley has trouble written all over her. Giving her a tattoo is the first on the list of things he wants to do to her, but he figures he'll never see her again.

Until that is, his cousin Sloan throws away the combination to his safe, which he also happened to integrate into the tattoo he gave Kaley that night.

Giving in to temptation, Lucky tracks Kaley down only to be offered a proposition of his own. Take a walk on the wild side to see if they really do get Lucky.

Angie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the TroubleMaker series. Luke aka Lucky owns a tattoo shop, he isn’t your typical bad boy but he does have a motto of “nobody’s ever getting this Lucky.” An altercation with one of his tattoo artists and a customer has Lucky finishing up a tattoo on a former child star, Kaley. Kaley wants to get rid of her good girl image, a tattoo is the perfect start, what she doesn’t know is Lucky put the combination to his safe in her tattoo. Lucky needs back in that safe in three weeks so he can get the deed to his shops in order to open two new stores. Lucky has to find Kaley and find a way to see her tattoo again. A “chance” second meeting and Kaley decides that Luke is just what she needs to tarnish her image. For the next few weeks Luke helps her but starts to have feelings for her and he has a secret, one that will not only tarnish her image, it will put his secret front and center and he will lose his tattoo shops. As much as I liked the first book in this series, and even more so the second book, this is by far the best book in the series, seems like they get better and better after each one. I cannot wait to see what the next book is about!

Characters: The characters are so well written; you can’t help but fall in love with all of them and feel like you are right there in the moment with them.
Sex: So steamy
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Johanna – ☆☆☆☆☆
I think this one was my favorite of all three so far, and Lucky played the part of alpha guy so well. This book was well written and it sucked me in real fast. I loved it! This author has some pretty unique ideas, and you won't find the same story done over here. Each book was unique from any romance books I have ever read, and this one was very humorous as well. This is getting five stars for entertainment. I found the storyline unique, and characters were very well developed. The author even managed to pull in some previous series book characters. I had a good time reading this one.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
I can't decide whether I liked this third book in the series even more than the others because I am now invested in the characters, or because of the story itself. Either way, this is a really good read. It is fun, it is serious, and it is hot. The tinges of control and submission interwoven between friendship and more ... beautifully done.

I am now asking Ms Gendron to please hurry up with book 4, so that I have an excuse to read the first three again - thanks in advance!

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
I loved this one more than the first two. Lucky is the best tattooed bad boy. He is all tough and mean looking on the outside with plenty of tattoos but Kaley sees the good man he is on the inside. When Lucky hears a commotion in the front of the shop, he writes down the numbers to the new safe he has just had installed. And he meets Kaley laying in a recliner waiting to have her tattoo finished. But Lucky needs to remember the combination to the safe, and with nothing to write on and the only writing utensil he has is the tattoo gun, he inks the combination into her tattoo but no one can tell because the numbers look like birds. Lucky has the idea to meet up with her and seduce her so he can get the numbers, but he realizes that he can't do that. He is beginning to have feelings for her. And his motto "Nobody gets this Lucky" is slowly slipping away. So can he tell her the truth and get the combination? Will she understand what he has done? Can he get past his past and tell her his deepest darkest secret? This is the third in the series, Broken Fences and Favorite Places are just as great and I am looking forward to reading Finder Fees, book 4, hopefully it is coming out soon.

WOW. So Captive (Book 1) was really just Tori's backstory to bring us to the present. Bound picks up right where we ended.

AND what a ride it was! It has action, emotion, romance...and she FINALLY starts to learn who she is (not based on how she's been used). Tori becomes a person, and we get to watch her journey :)

The story ends on a cliff-hanger (SERIOUS cliff-hanger) and I just need to know what's going on.

These books are well written, addictive, quick reads and I will definitely be checking out more of Samantha Jacobey's work.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆☆
Wow! I am so invested in this story that I just read straight through till I finished ... with a cliffhanger ending.

The author writes with such an easy style and has an amazing story to tell. My emotions were high, low, worried, smiling at little victories and delighted as Tori's story progresses. I love the way in which multiple stories are being intertwined, so that the reader dare not make assumptions, as they will be shattered, I am sure.

If you haven't yet read Captive, then please read it first, or you will miss the whole point of this story. There are back references that refresh the memory, but that is all. Anyway, how you could you not want to read the first in this great series? I can tell I am in for the long haul.

(Luckily I am in the very privileged position of having book three ready to go!)

Veronica☆☆☆☆
Bound is book 2 in Samantha Jacobey's New Life series which will have 7 books in total. The books must be read in order as it is a continuation of Tori's story.

Book 2 takes off from where book 1 left off and we go with Tori to LA as she tries to live a "normal life." Less of this book is spent telling tales of the past although we are taken there several times.

This book was not quite as gripping as the first and at times I felt that story was a little rushed. Once again, Samantha packs a lot in to a story that is less than 200 pages.

I am totally taken in with Tori's story and we are shown both her weaknesses and strengths in Bound. A few questions we may have had are answered but many more remain and new ones raised.

I'm hooked on this series and will be starting book 3 next. If you like a challenging, engaging read, then I'd recommend Bound and the New Life series.

Diana☆☆☆☆
3.5 - 4 Stars!!!

"I woke up in Mercy Hospital in Chicago thirty-six days ago. I spent four days in the hospital portion, and then was sent over to the mental health ward for twenty-nine days. I spent two nights at the federal building and one night with Eli. In that short amount of time, my life has completely changed. I have gone from being property of a group of mercenaries living a life of pain and anguish to a young women headed to a halfway house, a job, and a future."

That's sums up what we know so far. Now we take the journey with Tori to finding herself. I loved watching Tori grow as a person.

BUT I WANT MORE ANSWERS. I was left hanging off a cliff. Where's Eli, what do the Feds have up their sleeves, Michael, her birth certificate????

I was torn on how to rate this book. There were parts I loved, and parts I found to be completely unbelievable. Example- Tori and Enrique's relationship did not feel right, too soon, not enough build-up. I really had to set that aside in my mind so I could focus on the rest of the story.

I have to say though, I'm intrigued, I definitely want more, and I will continue this web of crazy. I'll put away the things that bother me, because this story is all consuming!!!!!!

Shannan☆☆☆
I found Bound to be better than Captive, story wise, but here is where my problem is. Bound left me with so many questions and no answers. Tori moves to a half-way house in California. Gets a job she enjoys and is trying to make something with her life. When someone from her past comes to the half-way house, a relationship starts but it was so quick and no build up, I needed more...more development, something.

I do love the suspense of this story but where the hell is Eli? I need more Eli and Tori!

I know this is just number 2 of a long series but I need my answers now! I love the craziness of this story!

Can't wait to read Entwined to see if and when all my questions are answered!

Mary☆☆☆☆
Tori is headed to LA to maybe get help with fitting into society. She really doesn't know how to act around others that do not want to use her. She misses Eli and Debra and when she calls the F.B.I. office in Chicago, they are no longer assigned to the office. So she feels lost all over again. At the halfway house, there is one other girl there and she is wary of being friends. Things are starting to look up for her until a familiar face from her past shows up at the halfway house. Terry, at the music store, is showing her how the business side of business works and she is catching on fast. Terry feels it is safe to leave her to do the books and paperwork. Tori just wants her time at the halfway house to be over so she can move on and not put her new family in any danger. Seems that danger is always around the corner waiting for her. There are a few twists and turns that I was not expecting and it threw me for a loop. And then the biggest twist is the ending. Can't wait to start Entwined (book 3) shortly.

Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations anywhere at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.

I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.
