Welcome to Corbin’s Bend: Sarah’s Tutorial by Emily Tilton

Greetings from Corbins Bend Banner

When Professor John Dunn moves to Corbin's Bend, hoping to live the spanking-centered BDSM lifestyle for which he has always yearned, he gets more than he bargained for when his brilliant student Sarah Harshaw sets out to seduce him. Sarah, in turn, gets much more than she bargained for when she finds herself taken in hand, and loving it. Both John and Sarah know that their torrid D/s relationship is wrong, but both also know that they have found in the other a true partner not just erotically, but intellectually as well.

Will their love survive the trials that inevitably befall it when Sarah's parents find out, and confront John? Can Sarah convince John that she knew what she was doing when she entered his office even though wearing his collar wasn't in her game-plan?

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆

This novella takes us once again to Corbin’s Bend, and introduces us to a college Professor and his student. Their interactions and the context of expectation as Sarah has lived there due to her parents being in the lifestyle. She feels differently and struggles with it due to their strong views. The release of her passion - and that of her professor makes for a very hot read. It is an interesting exploration of the feelings that haunt both Sarah and John.

The second book in a series of books about Corbin’s Bend, a community for people who enjoy spanking and/or Domestic Discipline. Unlike the first book, I couldn’t get into this book at all. I couldn’t connect with the characters. It was mostly monologue and not enough dialogue between the characters. The premise of the plot drew me in but I couldn’t get into it at all.

Characters: I couldn’t connect with any of the characters in this book at all.
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Professor John Dunn has always been missing something in life. Hiding in the vanilla world, Dunn has his fascination for spanking and his interest in BDSM.

Moving to Corbin's Bend, Colorado gives him the wherewithal to dip his toes into the lifestyle that is BDSM. Not actively searching for a sub, he nonetheless finds a willing student in Sara Harshaw.

Sarah Harshaw grew up in surburban Denver and later her family moved to Corbin's Bend. As she grew up, she realized her family was unlike most others: her father spanked her and her brother, as well as their mother. Only later did she realized that the adult spankings usually were erotic in nature.

Always knowing something was missing in her relationships, she finds herself intrigued with Professor Dunn. When he presents her with the contract, she can't stop herself from signing it.

To me, the first half of the book was written as though it was being told as if you were reading the characters’ diary. There is not a lot of character interaction, but more what scenarios happened with the characters. The second half of the book showed more interaction between the Sarah and John.
WRRT Banner Author Bio

I, Emily Tilton, if I exist, am a human rights lawyer who resides in Greenwich, CT. It's more likely that I'm actually someone else, who wishes she were as free to play out her real fantasies as Emily Tilton is.

EXPLORATIONS is a narrative version of my nearly lifelong quest to reconcile my submissive erotic orientation with my ethics. In this blog, as in the books of EXPLORATIONS themselves, when I'm writing in italics, I'm writing as the "real" me--35 year old lawyer Emily.

Over the many years since I became aware of my sometimes unbearable craving for ravishment, spanking, and above all anal domination, I have tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than I can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of good BDSM erotica (and of course also a ton of bad BDSM erotica) I could find.

Eventually, I read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout EXPLORATIONS, it changed my life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts I have by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in my right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, it put my left hand on the keyboard of my laptop and my right hand in my lap, if you know what I mean. I started to write spanking stories.

But because I'm interested in helping myself and others understand how BDSM can be lived within a mostly vanilla existence, the way most of us have to live it, EXPLORATIONS has a unique element that I hope will set it apart and make it useful: I have created a fantasy-version of myself (keeping to the tropes of the genre I know so well, fantasy-Emily is an eighteen-year-old virginal bride with a self-abuse problem), whose fantasies and "realities" are the central subject of the stories of EXPLORATIONS, while keeping my authorial, real voice in the margins, explaining and analyzing, and revealing from time to time the much more mundane, real version of the things I have transformed in the story of my fantasy-self. This doubling of the "I" in the first-person narrative of EXPLORATIONS might make the series worth exploring all on its own. – Bio taken from author’s blog.
