This phenomenal series just continues to entertain (in ALL the right ways)!
From page one my interest was hooked and I haven't been able to tear myself away from it.

Tempting Ecstasy, Book 4 in the Guardians of the Realms series is Conn's story. I've been patiently waiting to try to figure this Guardian out, and this book did NOT disappoint.

Conn is an Alpha (shocker, lol) Wolf, who just recently noticed the smell of his mate! Knowing he has a mate and making it happen are two totally different things.

Dacia is an Immortal living in the Earth Realm with her family, being the youngest of her siblings she feels like an outsider at times. She enjoys the closeness of her familial unit, but knows she is different. She is no wallflower, no real insecurities about her chosen mating but she does have an innocence that complements her tenacity!

I enjoyed the interactions between Conn & Dacia – it wasn't an insta-love/mate thing...she made him work for it, and in doing so they both gained the trust, love, and admiration from the other. They built a strong foundation before being thrust into the frenzy.

Not only do we have an awesome story between these characters, but throw in her family, the other Guardians, the crazy Cyril/Elizabeth element, and a touch of suspense – all culminate to make this story utterly un-put-downable!

Again, I'm left feeling a loss when the story ends – I don't want to leave the Realms and am SO glad there are more books in this series to read!!

These stories just get hotter and hotter – I shall save a fortune in heating costs this winter! I am loving this series from Ms. Jay, and unbelievably they seem to get better each time. I cannot wait for the time to sit and read them all in one go – although I may cause an unwanted increase in global temperatures.

Yet, the storyline is excellent too – with the overall plot ticking away alongside a beautiful and fulfilling love story. I love the tease of knowing they are mates, yet working to create a bond which is stronger than physical. It makes their coming together so much more. It was great to uncover the many layers of depth that have been hinted about Conn, and Dacia is his perfect foil. Escapism at its finest once again.

Do read these stories in order, as they are so much richer that way. Thank you again Ms. Jay!

Zero Hour is the long-awaited conclusion to the Gypsy Brothers series. Each book is like a roller coaster ride on crack – slap to the face pacing that leaves the reader with whiplash. Once hooked on episode one, be prepared to binge-read the series in its entirety, leaving you sleepless and a bit ornery when interrupted.

At the end of One Love, I felt many emotions: satisfaction, heartbreak, and relief I was finally getting off the ride, hoping to get my equilibrium back. I wanted to know more about our broken Juliette – the girl was consumed by her own vengeance, making her just as bad, if not worse, than her victimizers. I felt the story had met its conclusion, but I was interested in whether it was possible for Juliette to truly have an HEA with all the taint on her soul. So I was equally shocked and intrigued when Zero Hour was announced – most readers were expecting a fluffy happy ending.

But Lili St. Germain is not fluffy.

Zero Hour was dark and gritty, wading through all the haunting pain, guilt, and resentment by the narrators. But what else could you expect after seven brutal installments?

A review is either to sell a reader on a book, or to dissuade them from buying. But if you've already read the seven previous installments, I don't think anything I have to say will do either. Just realize, don't start the book unless you have time to finish it in one sitting, as you'll be hard-pressed to put it down.

If you haven't read the previous books, I certainly recommend that you do – if nothing else that it puts Zach in a very clear position in his family and workplace. The previous books deal with William Montgomery's meddling ways in his sons and nephews/niece's romantic lives. It is a fun dynamic which continues in a similar vein here. In other words, even more than a usual romance novel, we know that WM gets his way!

It is highly entertaining and enjoyable watching how things develop. Frustrated as Zach is with his injury, as prickly as Gabriella is from her previous experiences, we know what is going to happen. But as always the writing draws us in and we get to live out the drama as it unfolds. Delicious!

Definitely worth a read, thank you again Ms. Chase!

Paired Pursuit was sooooo good! Murray has created a world in which the invading aliens EAT humans – dead or alive – and their only known weakness is sunlight, specifically UV exposure. If that were not enough, some of the surviving settlements have reverted to medieval standards when it comes to women’s rights, requiring a dowry for marriage and that a woman must then sign over all of her property to her husband upon marriage. Fortunately, a woman has some freedom in that she is able to live on her own if she can support herself, but in Mari’s case, the man who is interested in marrying her so she can bear his children, has influence locally and her landlord has evicted her from her shipping container (I know, right?) and she has no choice but to leave the city of Flagstaff for Reno aka Scar City in hopes that she can find an alien device her father hid and make enough money to live on off of its sale.

Not enough to get your attention. How about we add genetically-engineered super soldiers who were created in pairs and share a telepathic link to further enhance their fighting abilities? Need a little more? If the Twins (as the super-soldiers are called) are fortunate enough to find a woman who appeals to them, they share her as well. I bet THAT got your attention. Despite knowing a set of Twins who found their mate, Finn and Gareth really don’t believe it truly happens … until Mari boards the same train and both men find themselves attracted to the same woman at the same time – something that has never happened before. While it may seem as though things move rather quickly, especially considering Mari is still a virgin (and leaves the train that way), she engages in some steamy play with the men while on the train. But knowing how badly Mari suffers from panic attacks, her capitulation to the Twins’ advances makes sense because they not only succeed in distracting her from her terror, but it also gives her the opportunity to gain back some measure of control over her life as she chooses this intimacy. Unfortunately a misunderstanding upon their arrival at the train station ends up with Mari going off on her own, leaving a frantic set of Twins scouring the city to find their mate. While much of Scar City has devolved into a dangerous wasteland, Mari and the Twins find that there are still good people in the world as Patrice and other residents lend a helping hand when needs arise.

Murray has taken a lot of elements and packed them into Paired Pursuit. But she has done it in such a way that they mesh well rather than seeming over the top or contrived. As we are dealing with a world in which each night may be your last because of how vicious the Barks (aliens) are, the speed with which the Twins and Mari’s relationship develops isn’t unrealistic, especially when combined with the chem-attract effect the Twins experience. I liked that the author varied the sex scenes, with some being tender, some being desperate, and some being aggressive and life-affirming. There was also variations in the couplings so that not all scenes were ménages, which added an element of humor considering the telepathic bond the Twins shared. I loved that Mari found Patrice and that the two women were able to help one another out, forging a family-like bond. The ending was nail-biting, on-the-edge-of-your-seat action and I wasn’t really sure how it would turn out. Paired Pursuit was an awesome sci-fi ménage romance that left me chomping at the bit for the next installment in the Matched Desire series because with the many different Twin pairings (and a set of triplets) that Finn and Gareth mentioned in this book alone, I see so many possibilities. I can only hope the author is writing quickly so we can find out what’s in store for Mari, Finn, Gareth and the other Twins.

I have to confess to not choosing to read historical romances very often, but this peaked my curiosity and I am delighted that I gave it a go.

Set firmly in history, the story gives a good impression of the times and of the lengths to which men of society had to go to hide their natural instincts. Iain and James have known each other since childhood, and known of each other's interest nearly as long – yet the elder, Iain, cannot face the scandal he would bring upon his dearest friend. The story is told by shooting backwards and forwards in time – which did work, although I am not generally a big fan! And although it centred firmly on the two men, their families played some important roles in how the plot unfolds. This was a sensual story more than a sexy one, although the chemistry between the two is evident from the first.

Thank you Ms. Chambers, I shall be adding you to my authors to look out for list, and be checking through your current books for inspiration.
