This is the second half of the story of Harley and Chase's love story, so make sure you read Wright Kind of Trouble before this, or you will be very confused. To be honest, you should read all the Wright Vineyard books to enjoy all the backstories which add to the whole.

Just as Harley graduates and she and Chase allow themselves to be together, everything blew up with her brothers finding out – because Chase is a Sinclair, and the bad blood between them and the Wrights is real. We now get to find out how they manage to navigate their relationship when many around them want it to fail. Add to that, Harley's (pretty evil) father still wants to control her future, and her mother still can't resist his charms... and Harley is having to defend herself and start her career with a lot of pressures from all sides. Not the best place to engage fully in a new relationship – but she and Chase are strong and genuinely perfect for each other, if only everyone else can get the message!

I was so happy that these two lovely people finally got their chance at happiness. It has been a long time coming. I also loved catching up with all the previous couples and seeing how they had to acknowledge their growth in accepting their changing family dynamics.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the seventh book in the series and to get all the goodness you really need to start from the very beginning – as this book covers events from different perspectives which have already happened, and it was so rich to glimpse reminders of big things for other couples from a new line of sight. We also finally get to understand more of Hayley's thinking over that time.

There is nothing to dislike in this sexy waiting game, impossible to resist romance, which has been happening throughout Hayley's undergraduate studies. She and Chase had an instant connection, but he wanted her to have the chance to make her own life rather than being subsumed into his. There is only good in that intention, but it is a difficult one to stomach... for both of them really. I love that we get to see them slip up every now and again and yet they cannot possibly let go entirely.

It is fast-paced and full of fun, so whilst time is passing, we still get plenty of passion and hope for a true happily ever after. We are given somewhat of a cliffhanger, which means I am already in need of the next book, NOW!

This is the fifth book in the Wright Vineyard series but makes a round dozen in the overall Wright series – so if you are a fan, you will love how many familiar faces appear in this book! I would recommend that you have read at least the prior four, but this is such a fun story, if you want to just dive in, it's a lot of fun regardless.

We left these two characters as newly minted housemates, but with Weston going to work in LA, so basically Nora has the house to herself, and no danger of romantic wishes on either part. Now West is back, and they slip into an easy friendship and an uneasy desire to be more. It is cute and engaging, as well as playing into the dynamics of the families that are key to this series. There are so many interwoven friendships and familial relationships that it is to an extent difficult to see how this would be any different – but Campbell and Hollins are still feeling guilty for rather abandoning their baby sister, and maybe feeling even more protective after the 'August' debacle. He, foolishly, continues to feature in Nora's life, but only makes more of an idiot of himself.

I love following the career successes and adventures of both Nora as a wedding planner, and Weston as he finally gets his big chance in the music business. West, particularly, has been missing the stability that is rare in the business, but even if he achieves it, then his home will be the road, not Lubbock, where Nora thrives in her role. Linde has an inspired solution to that problem, which comes about in such a natural way – very clever, fun, and ties in previous storylines perfectly.

As always, there are hints of new relationships to come and I for one am already looking forward to catching up with the gang and finding out more!

All the Wright Moves is the twelfth installment in the Wright series, but most importantly, this is the fifth installment in the Wright Vineyard series.

Can this novel be read as a standalone? No, not without confusion, as well as spoiling plot threads in prior novels that you may or may not wish to read in the future. The emotional payoff will be stronger if the reader has a connection to the cast of characters, not just to the main characters of this novel. If you don't wish to wade through a dozen Wright novels, reading the previous four Wright Vineyard novels are a must.

Brother's best friend, such a tasty plot device... and Nora feels exactly the same as I do. Nora has been sharing a house with Weston, but she is given a reprieve when he had to relocate for work, giving Nora full run of the house by herself. She can finally take a deep breath without Weston's intoxicating presence influencing her... or so she thought.

Gun-shy from a bad breakup and a friendship in tatters, Nora is hesitant to date. But now with Weston back in the house, with the promise of friendship and the intimacy of sharing a close bond with their friends and family, those sharp edges of her emotional walls are crumbling.

An all-around good person, Weston is easy to love and befriend, coaxing and bringing out a confident side to Nora, one she thought was destroyed after the "love of her life" broke her heart. Weston offers to be Nora's dating coach, falling head over heels when he promised himself he wouldn't, not when he has to return to LA.

Outside of the romance between Nora and Weston, the best portions of the novel feature the huge cast of endearing characters and how they interact with one another. Campbell brings some angst by pulling the "don't touch my sister" card, which was deliciously entertaining.

All the Wright Moves is a page-turner of warm and fuzzy feels, a great way to de-stress while being entertained. I highly recommend this novel, the series, as well as K.A. Linde's entire backlist to fans of contemporary romance.

Wright That Got Away is the eleventh installment in the Wright series, as well as the fourth installment of the Wright Vineyard series, which the series title explains how it is connected yet differentiates from the main series as a whole.

Can the novel be read as a standalone with little to no confusion? Most definitely, as a contemporary romance, the focus is on the two main characters. Can it be read out of series order? Also, true. But the real question is should you read it as a standalone or out of series order? No.

Frankly, if you plan on going back and reading the predecessors, you're setting yourself up to spoil the previous plots, as it's all connected. The emotional payoff would also be greater, as you'd develop a connection to the characters, the side characters in this novel were previous main narrators, and so forth.

Linde sets up a delicious contemporary romance featuring a second-chance romance between a pair of high school sweethearts. The heroine of the tale, Blaire, had her heart broken when Campbell left her behind for the bright lights of LA, seeking fame and to pave his own path. Fast-forward almost a decade later, you have the setup for an angsty romance, featuring a woman who is trying very hard to close off her heart after the feeling of betrayal and heartbreak, and a musician who has returned to his muse now that he has obtained his goal of stardom.

Of course, this is Linde, so there is most certainly an obstacle trying to drive a wedge between Blaire and Campbell as they work to rebuild their friendship and romance. Contemporary romance needs some drama and angst to make it feel as if the couple has worked to earn their happily ever after.

For most women, I believe Blaire will be easy to identify with, experiencing the emotional rollercoaster ride she takes the readers on. Kind and compassionate, Blaire gives the feels.

At the same time, Campbell also resonated with me, since he should reach for his dreams, especially at such a young age. Romance shouldn't be the end-all be-all in life.

I was rooting for Blaire and Campbell the entire time, enjoying the byplay of their interactions, the steamy smexy time, and the realistic connection.

Many cameos by past favorites are on the pages as we revisit small town Lubbock, Texas, and the addictive Wright family. I definitely look forward to more. Highly recommend to fans of the author and contemporary romance.

This is the eleventh book in the Wright series, but possibly more importantly, the fourth in the Vineyard series. If you are completely up-to-date, then like me, you will have been keenly anticipating this next pairing. If you have never read one before, then I would genuinely recommend you at least read the Vineyard series, so you have a better understanding of the dynamics in play.

Campbell left straight after high school to try and make his mark in the music business. He did succeed, and now is a big star. His best known hit is about Blaire, his high school sweetheart he left behind. Now, eight years later, he is back for a visit and wants to spend time with the one who he's been comparing every woman to since. His closeness to the family means that he is almost impossible to ignore, but Blaire is desperate to protect herself. She only just survived, and now has control of her life again, so really needs to take care of herself.

What is so clever, is that it is impossible not to like them both and completely empathise with their points of view. The author gives us just enough insight into their thoughts, and their conversations with their closest friends. It is hugely engaging and entertaining – with some moving and difficult elements twisting what seems like an obvious happily ever after. I love that we can believe we know a situation's turn and yet another factor becomes an issue. The way that the leads deal with such issues gives us the true indication of their feelings for each other.

I was really looking forward to their story, and it was complex, intense, and incredibly passionate – perfection!

This is the tenth book in the series – and I was so happy that Piper got her story, and that it involved Hollin Abbey was a big bonus! I would highly recommend that you read back a bit in earlier books to get the full goodness, but Linde gives a good reminder of backstories where needed too.

The antagonistic banter between Hollin and Piper has been evident in recent installments, and there was a hint that there was a “love is close to hate” kind of vibe. However, Piper was on and off with her rather wet and weak boyfriend, Bradley. When we learn why that relationship is properly over, all bets are off.

I love that we meet up with all the gang, and enjoy the preparations for Peyton's wedding, as well as getting hints of future love interests for the single members of the group. I really think that you should pick up your own copy and enjoy the ride. There is plenty of wit, drama, sadness, and fun, along with a delicious realisation by two lovely people that just maybe there is something between them which is worth believing in and enjoying.

Wright Rival is the tenth installment of the Wright series. While I do believe it possible to read as a standalone, it wouldn't be without confusion. An entire series of plots, cameos by past narrators, and a large presence of the entire cast of characters always on scene would make for a confusing standalone if you had never dipped a toe into the Wright series.

While I wouldn't truly classify this as an enemies-to-lovers situation, rivals is a nail on the head for their interactions with one another. It's a cute, push-pull, head-to-head every single time they share a page together. Not particularly angsty or laden with drama, more comedic romance than enemies-to-lovers.

Piper and Hollin run competing wineries, rivals and combatants for a wine award. What a tasty treat of a plot, right?

Truly a good person, kindhearted and amusing, misunderstood by many... Hollin pushes Piper's buttons, more levity than antagonism, attempting to see what makes Piper tick. He likes her, and she would never give him the time of day, because she was judging who she thought him to be not who he truly was. To be honest, this judgy business made me dislike Piper when I was inside Hollin's narration, then I liked her again during hers.

Piper has built up who Hollin is in her mind, seeing only what she wants to see. The tats, the Harley, and the string of women. Cliché bad boy, right? She is a strong main character, a good friend and family member. She cares deeply. But I felt her dislike for Hollin was immature, which I felt was at odds with her personality.

Every interaction was slightly combative but also filled with zany repartee that I felt was super forced, to be quite honest. It didn't quite jive. Once the barriers were down and Piper saw Hollin for who he was, I enjoyed the story more.

While I was thrilled to see how all the Wright characters were doing as they came onto the scene, I also felt it took away from Hollin and Piper. Scene-stealers. Too many characters in a scene making for a chaotic feel. Overwhelming at times, where I had to skim to lessen the stress to get to a scene where there were three or fewer people conversing.

Every early interaction between Piper and Hollin was gone over and over again with the rest of the Wright characters – and there are a lot of them. Ten books' worth. "You were flirting with her!" "Was not!" "You were flirting with him!" "No, I wasn't." This felt a lot like filler, a little bit too middle school, especially hearing it from both perspectives, one right after the other, after we just read it in the previous point of view. While cutesy, warm and fuzzy, it became a bit too much for this cynic.

I liked Piper and Hollin together, but was turned off by how forceful the "romance" was displayed. The love-hate didn't quite compute. The constant need to make sure the reader knew both of them felt the other was hot and annoying. Every time the narration switched and they caught sight of one another, another rundown of how much they wanted the other but didn't like them was monologued.

SHOW me. Stopping TELLING me. Because what was shown was at odds with what I was being told.

I do believe fans of the Wright series and Linde will enjoy Wright Rival, devour it in a single sitting while hankering for another helping. Hearts will warm from seeing their favorite characters. Definitely recommend to fans.

My rating and reading enjoyment is possibly due to my mood, where something that wouldn't ordinarily rub me did. One bit rubbed me wrong...

This is the ninth book in the series. I have read many of them, and whilst each is rich in its own right, they are even better with some context and understanding of the family dynamics and business links!

Julian Wright is a serious man. He works all the time, and is insistent on not repeating the sins of his father. He cannot help but deny himself any serious relationship, in the fear that he will behave badly and leave his family too. His last girlfriend, who betrayed him in the worst way, is still trying to worm her way into his life.

Jennifer works for the Wright Vineyard as their in-house photographer. Although she had the glamour of international assignments, she has decided that she needs time with her friends and the certainty of work close to home. The only downside is being near her very negative mum, who still believes that she should have been a pharmacist, not play at taking pictures. Being with her friends makes it worthwhile, although it also puts her in a position to see a lot of Julian, the subject of a long-time crush. They did have a moment, four years ago, but nothing since. Living with anxiety – mostly under control thanks to medication and therapy – Jennifer is nervous of even thinking about the man, that is just how much he affects her.

One evening, and they find themselves in a fake relationship. Initially set up to provide cover for upcoming events, now they both wish it were for real and don't know how to escape from the deal. As they allow each other little steps into their private lives, it is quite difficult as a reader to not want to give them advice about how far to go and when to keep quiet. Jen's friends do a good job of being supportive, but both of them are very private people, and also very respectful of each other.

We get to catch up with previous couples, and even attend a wedding. There are more Wright family revelations, which will be interesting in future installments... as always an engaging and enjoyable read.

Serves Me Wright is the ninth installment in the Wright series. I would suggest against reading as a standalone, as the connection between the hero and heroine started in previous installments. I have not read all the novels in the series, but I did read the previous installment, so I understand the dynamics, which may help reduce any confusion a new reader would experience. That being said, one of these days, I must sit down and start at the beginning, curious to see if the emotional payoff is better once I read the novels back-to-back.

Julian has issues, the type of issues that will either resonate with the reader or not. I was able to connect with Julian, understanding the layers because they hit close to home in some ways, personality wise. Well-meaning with his heart in the right place, yet emotionally closed off, putting people at a distance, Julian is a reserved soul. To add insult to injury, he has trust issues due to his ex, an ex who just will not scram. Worse yet, he has his own version of daddy issues, fearing he'll behave as the man has in the past. Because of these issues, Julian refuses to connect with anyone on an emotional level, driven by fear and trust issues. This combination makes for a dynamic hero.

Jennifer is a classic wallflower, sweet and innocent, shy and a little bit unsure of herself. Beneath the insecurities is a spine of steel that will reveal itself once challenged. Intelligent, a beauty who doesn't realize she's beautiful until Julian comes along. Anyone who suffers from even the mildest form of anxiety will immediately understand Jennifer's struggles.

Two of my favorite premises, fake-date and opposites attract. Julian and Jennifer are a perfect balance, challenging the other to break out of their respective shells, so to speak. The romance was front and center, but a bit too predictable for me to call it a page-turner. Just the right amount of angst to make the heart clench, loads of pining from past installments, but a classic romance where you didn't have to worry about the happily ever after.

Where Linde shines with this series is with the family dynamics, which is what has me wishing I'd started from page one of book one to truly immerse myself in the Wright family she's created. While I love me the tension and angst of a fake-date premise, am warmed by the opposites attract balance, I'm a total sucker for large family drama.

This is set within a world familiar to any Linde's Wright series – but even if you are new to it, you will definitely still enjoy this engaging story.

Jordan is back in Lubbock and setting down working roots as well as returning to the family business after his stay in Vancouver. We soon learn that he still has regrets over how he treated Annie when he left, but his experience with love is distorted by his unhappy childhood, with a bad example for a father. Little did he expect to have to come to Annie's rescue when he visits a wine merchants, but he is happy that he has re-engaged with her by being helpful.

Annie has certainly not forgotten Jordan, literally the one who got away, and then when he came back a few weeks later for a wedding, brought a girlfriend... she hasn't had time since to get involved with anyone, as she is studying hard to be an ER doctor. So not even Jordan can distract her from her goal, but he has a suggestion – friends with benefits, but no chance to be anything more...

Famous last words, of course, as we can tell that they both would like more, even if they rebuff each other in the interests of protecting themselves. Inevitably events overtake them, we get to learn their fears, their dreams, and their hopes, and in the end, just how far they will go to support each other.

There are some great side stories, like the winery sabotage, the ex-one-true-love turning up at the very worst moment, and the revelations which make all the difference in the world. Delicious writing, and catching up with plenty of old friends for Linde fans too!

Wright with Benefits is set within the Wright series universe. As someone who has yet to read that series, I didn't struggle as much as I assumed I would, not that there weren't bumps of confusion along the way, but I was able to read this as a standalone. It definitely sparked my interest to go back and read all the novels connected, which I wished I had done prior to reading Wright with Benefits. I believe the emotional payoff and entertainment value would have risen to a five-star read for me had I experienced the Wright family across the series.

As always, K.A. Linde is the queen of angst. Push-pull, will they/won't they romance. ANGST. Narrated by Annie and Jordan, a one-night stand turns into a second-chance romance, both of them believing the other wants different things out of life.

Annie is focused on her career and leaving Lubbock in her rearview, having zero time or energy for romance. After a one-night stand, Annie didn't believe she'd ever see Jordan again. For her, he's most certainly the one who got away, but when he shows back up in town with a girlfriend in tow, sparks fly.

Neither have time for romance, but that doesn't mean they can ignore the heat kindled between them. Friends with benefits seems like the perfect balance, until these pesky things called feelings get in the way.

The evolution of Annie and Jordan's relationship felt real, bringing all the feels. They grew together, personalities a good balance, with plenty of angst and conflict brought about by frustrating side plots.

I definitely look forward to going back to the beginning and reading the series as a whole, then rereading Wright with Benefits with fresh eyes.
