Vas by Ker Dukey & K. Webster Blog Tour

The Volkov name is one I longed for.
Their household is one I grew up in, but not as an equal—as a maid’s son.
This didn’t stop me from becoming a man to be reckoned with.
But even with my rightful name finally given to me, I still feel adrift.
Until her.

Everything I did was for acceptance.
Everything I lost brought me to my family.
To this life.
To her.

I fought for my status.
I fought for my sisters.
And I will fight to the death for my angel.

She has shown me there is light in our pitch-black world.
That the stars can’t shine without the darkness of night.
She is the stars, and I am the sky in which she shines.

There is evil lurking in the shadows we create.
The corruption and depravities of the First Families have become toxic and are infecting us all from within.
Games have been played, and now, they must end.

I am Vas.
Vocal. Voracious. Vindictive. Volkov.
A devil in love with an angel, and together, we’re going to rule Hell on Earth.

***This is book three in The V Games series. Vlad and Ven must be read first in order to understand this story.***

This is the third book in The V Games and it did not disappoint.

Darya is living in a world of pain. It's a world she has become accustomed to, but not the world that she was born in to. While living in a convent, Darya was also exposed to brutal living, but in a different light. While she was so innocent, there were things that were beyond her control – she was too young and innocent to realize what was happening. When she is brought to her new tormentor's home, she just learns to live with the abuse. While her faith is shaken, it's not completely lost.

Vas is a fighter through and through. However, he was raised by a woman who was strong, courageous, and willing to sacrifice to give her son a chance. Despite wanting to seek out his father, Vas is not controlled by his dad, nor his dad's empire. When he first sees Darya, he knows that he has to help her in some way. But Vas isn't about the short plays – he waits and goes for the long play.

While these two are figuring out how to live their own lives, Vas is also prepping another fighter. This is a twisted story about love, betrayal, family, and sacrifice. While I found the story somewhat predictable in terms of the devil, I did like seeing Vas in his new role. He seems the most humane of the characters and I liked watching him.

I can't wait for the next story!

This is the third book in The V Games series and Vas and Darya's story.

Darya grew up in a convent when the Devil Man came and took her away. Now she only knows pain for Yuri, Vlad's father. She isn't allowed to wear clothes and she is beaten when Yuri isn't happy. Her life is not what you would want anyone to go through, but it is where the devil has left her.

Vas is Diana and Irena's half-brother. He is a fighter and he trains fighters and they win in The V Games. He has a big heart and finding Darya it shows and his protectiveness for her comes through even bigger. He will protect her in any way, even with his life.

As with the other books, this one is filled with mafia doings, murders, betrayal, lust, love, and even forever. I would totally recommend reading the first two books just to be able to keep up with all the characters involved.

I have loved this series and I love Vas, but I found this book to be a little less than the first books, it didn't seem to have the gripping page-turner effect for me. And I will be recommending this series to anyone who would listen. I can't wait for the Cousins Zahkar and Rodion and Alyona story, so I hope there is at least one more book. If you haven't read anything from K. Webster and Ker Dukey and you like a great mafia story, then these authors and this story are for you.

The third and final book in The V Games was about Vas, he's the bastard son of the Volkovs (Diana and Irina's family). This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order. Vas has been previously portrayed as a play-boy, he's worked his way into the good graces of his father and is poised to take over everything Diana had worked for.

We learn the true nature of Vas, which is a far cry from what I thought he was. Being raised by his mother, outside of the mafia families, has given him empathy and the capacity love.

Darya's story is just heartbreaking. She's currently a slave for Yuri Vasiliev, paraded through his home naked and subjected to whatever horrors he can think of. Abused and alone, the only thing she has is her faith... which also seems to have abandoned her. That is, until Vas sees her.

These families are absolutely bat-poop crazy. Their main source of entertainment is The V Games, a vicious Hunger Games type event where only the best survive the horrors awaiting them. Each family enters a Champion and then places bets on the winner. These champions can be anyone, regardless of their strengths, and many need much time for training.

To be honest, I was expecting a lot more from this story. I will say that I enjoyed getting to know Vas and Darya, reading about their pasts and who they really were. I enjoyed these two finding one another. What I didn't enjoy was that this story wasn't very exciting. I expected more action, instead this was a low-key romance between Vas and Darya. There was training of a champion, and a lot of interaction with Zahkar and Rodion (these two need their own book), but I was expecting more in regard to avenging Darya. Not to mention Vika, I don't even really know how her arc ended. There are interactions with the families, but I was expecting more resolution from Vas.

Overall, I enjoyed this series and getting to know each of the characters. I liked reading about the inner workings of these powerful families – their insanity knows no bounds! I was entertained with this series but would say book three wasn't my favorite. I was really hoping for more resolutions.

Vas is the third installment in The V Games series. With the amount of information there is, these books should be read in the order the authors intended to completely understand.

Vas is Diana and Irina's half-brother. His mother was a Volkov’s maid. She was the hired help, so Vas wasn't groomed like the rest of the first families’ sons. He's an underground fighter and trained Diana for The V Games. When he first sees Darya, he's drawn to her in a way he doesn't understand. He feels a protectiveness over her. She's naked and hungry, living as the slave to Yuri.

Darya grew up in a convent. It's the only life she's ever known until "The devil man" steals her away and leaves her in her own personal hell. She becomes the slave to Yuri, Vlad's father. She doesn't understand why she's left here or why she’s humiliated by being paraded around naked. When Vas finds her, he'll do anything to protect her.

I loved Vas and Darya's story. So far, I think Vas is definitely the least dark of all of the men. He's lethal, but this story was more about his feelings than the death and destruction this series is known for. I can't wait for the cousin's story. I can't imagine Rodion, Zahkar, and Alyona's story not being as sexy and fast-paced as the rest and I’m dying to see the conclusion of the most recent V Games.

I love this writing duo. My dark heart sings when they get together!

My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.

Ven by Ker Dukey & K. Webster Blog Tour

The Vetrov name comes with expectation.
My role in this world is simple: do as Father asks and live my life how he planned it.

My future is already written: run the empire.
Old Values. Old Rule. Old Money.
Until her.

Everything I do lacks purpose.
Everything I do is empty.
Women. Money. Power. It meant nothing.
Until her.

When the Volkov rose showed up at my home a disgraced package, hand-delivered by a Vasiliev prince, I began paving my own path.
I vowed to make her bloom once more.

She consumed me.
Her. Her. Her.

But you can’t love a rose and expect not to be damaged by her thorns.
She cut me too deep.
And I bled out.
My soul fled.
All that’s left is a cold, calculating monster.

I am Veniamin.
Volcanic. Victorious. Valiant. Vetrov.
When you enter my world to play games, prepare to lose.
In the end, I always find the thorn in my side, and I pluck it right out.

After the way the first book ended, I wasn't sure how Diana was going to survive; but with a little help from Ven, she just might come out of this even stronger. Or so I thought. She is trying to plot her revenge on her father for the chain of events that has led her to Ven's house. While Ven's father is old school and doesn't want her in his house, he thinks he can use her any way he wants. Diana can't let that happen, as she spends more time with Ven, her feelings begin to grow more and more.

Ven has loved Diana since she was 16 years old when she kissed him to get rid of Vika, the little girl who at age 10 was always plotting to get her way. While the kiss did make Vika mad, it also made Ven want Diana more. Now that she lives in his house, he will protect her until he can make her his.

While Diana is a strong, independent woman, it is Ven who will bring her to her knees. But his father will destroy both Ven and Diana.

When Diana ends up in the Games, Ven knows he can't save her but he will get his revenge on the one person who put her in that pit of hell. Diana has trained for the Games and must stay alive to get her revenge. And in the end, will she get what she is after or just more pain?

When I saw that book two was ready in the review group, I thought, oh yeah, Double K is at it again and I am ready. While this series is full of cringe-worthy dialogue and is a painstakingly dark storyline, it will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next. So if you love an awesome, dark read that covers all the triggers, then you need to read this series, K. Webster and Ker Dukey have done it again and I can't wait for book three.

This is a dark book and not for the faint of heart. The violence of The V Games is not something to take lightly, even though some of the violence takes place off the page.

Diana portrays herself as strong and does her best to protect her family. In doing so, she makes a rookie mistake that gets her and her lover caught. He's killed and she's all but disowned. She's taken in by Ven's family and for a while it seems that life might be looking up.

Ven has always been intrigued by Diana. She could be the Queen to his King when it’s their turn to run the first families. However, the perceived betrayal to him and his family has him leaving Diana to fend for herself. Ven didn't realize the cost to his soul until he saw her in the Games.

If you enjoy dark reads, then this is the book for you.

Ven is the second installment in The V Games series. The books can be read as standalones but are so much better if read in the order the authors intended.

Veniamin Volkov's life has been plotted and planned long before he was even an adult. His destiny is to run the Volkov empire. Ven is powerful, smart, and oh so sexy. The first families are to be feared. They make the rules and when you cross one of them, vengeance will be theirs. There was always a closeness between Ven and Diana even as children, but they were never supposed to be together. Diana was to be married off to Vlad, but when her affair was brought to light she was dumped at Ven's doorway like trash. Ven knew from that moment he would take care of Diana, she was going to be his.

Diana was doing what she had to do to protect Irina. After taking time to mourn her lover, she made a plan for vengeance. She wasn't the delicate rose everyone thought she was. She was about to prove herself in this man's world.

I loved the dynamic between Ven and Diana. She wanted him but didn't need him to take care of her. She was stronger than anyone knew.

This author duo is an amazing writing team. The suspense factor was high and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat.

I can't wait for Vas!

WARNING: This is a very dark romance. If you're sensitive to things, I would not recommend this story as there are a ton of triggers.

Ven and Diana's story is a dark one. You cannot decide whether to root for them or condemn them. I really liked Diana's character. She was strong and dangerous, delicate and vulnerable. She was an amazing character. Complex and well written, well developed too.

Then you have Ven. He is complicated, dangerous, mean, and demanding. He demands and commands respect, but also terrorizes too. He sometimes acts like a toddler not getting his way and then other times, acts like he's in control of himself. He loves Diana with a fierceness that is unrivaled.

These two characters are amazing together and you can really see their history. The action in this story keeps you on the edge of your seat and you want to root for them, but also want to see them fail. It's a book that evokes a lot of emotion. I really enjoyed it.

Book two in The V Games was everything I was hoping for from the collaboration of Ker Dukey and K Webster!! I highly recommend reading this series in order, as Ven picks right up from where Vlad ended.

In this world of the Russian mob there is a hierarchy, everyone knows their place, and this especially applies to the women. The darkness and depravity know no bounds and seeps into every aspect of their lives. Please be advised this series, and story in particular, contains human-trafficking, rape, murder, and drug use.

Diana has fallen from grace, as a woman from a First Family this is an awful place to be, and needs to find herself. Thankfully her childhood crush, Ven Volkov, is there to catch her... or is he?

I loved every single chapter in this book – EVERY SINGLE ONE! Diana is NOT a wilting-flower, she will NOT be condemned nor disrespected. I love her strength, determination, and grit. Ven is my new book boyfriend. He's strong but kind, scary but sweet, and the perfect man NOT tainted by his position in the mob.

Overall, this story has everything: darkness, action, romance, suspense, and at times, humor. The twists and turns kept my eyes glued to my e-reader, but the characters truly made me fall in love. I wasn't convinced I would like the series based on the first book but now I'm a total believer!

Vlad by Ker Dukey & K. Webster Blog Tour

The Vasiliev name is a powerful one.
We rule with an iron fist and we do it well.
Being the eldest, I am Father’s best hope at keeping us at the top of the food chain.

Everything I do has purpose.
Everything I do has reason.
Until her.

I play my games thinking several moves ahead.
Power. Power. Power.
Until her.

The next move requires I marry and soon.
This will strengthen us and secure our position.
But I am not to marry her.

I am to wed the eldest Volkov.
Problem is, her younger sister is the one who awakens my dead heart.
It is her I want in my bed and by my side forever.
Her. Her. Her.

In this game, though, it’s not about what I want.
But maybe it can be about what she wants.

I am Vlad.
Vile. Vicious. Villainous. Vasiliev.
And I will win eventually.

Well, Double K (Ker Dukey and K. Webster) has done it again. When this one came across the list of the review group I'm in, I didn't even read the blurb because I knew I wanted to read this one.

Vlad is the eldest son of the number one mob family, he takes after his father in every way. He has a set of twin siblings, Vika and Viktor. Vlad knows what needs to be done to run the family business and he will do anything to protect that family.

Irina and her sister, Diana, have been running the family vodka business as long as they can remember. When Diana's father sets her up to marry Vlad, she only agrees to the arrangement if he accepts to let Irina come too. Irina can't believe Diana has agreed to this, but she will not let anyone tell her she has to marry someone she doesn't love. Things happen between Diana & Vlad and Irina &Vlad that will leave you with your mind spinning.

This story is dark, sexy, exciting, intense, and will leave you breathless. It has alpha males and strong females and you will not want to put it down once you start reading. I highly recommend this book, but only if you love to read dark stories. I can't wait to see what book two brings.

This book is not for the faint of heart. If you want a book that tests your boundaries as a reader, then open it and hold on tight.

Vlad's family runs the "V Games" which is sort of like The Hunger Games without all the niceties. During the last games, Vlad lost his brother due to the machinations of their sister, Vika. Vlad is no longer playing nice, not that he ever was, and now he's on a mission to make those responsible for his brother's death pay and pay dearly.

What he doesn't expect is Irina, his fiancée’s younger sister. She has interested him since he first met her as a child and that attraction has only gotten stronger. She's smart, funny, and for some reason, hides in the shadows.

When Diana's (the fiancée) secret is revealed, life becomes both easier and harder for Vlad and Irina, but their commitment to each other is rock solid.

I can't wait for book two.

Vlad is part of the mob. There is no other family than his mob family. His family is used to ruling with an iron fist and also getting what they want, no matter what it is. Vlad is in charge of the "V Games" and this is where he and his brothers, as well as other mob families, prove their worth – prove their family's worth.

Diana comes from another mob family. She knows her duty and does what is to be expected. However, she also loves her sister, Irina, and will do whatever she can to protect Irina's future. Vlad and Diana have been matched for a while. However, when things really come to head, neither Diana nor Vlad are prepared.

There are some major twists in this story and this is a darker story than what you might think from the blurb. It's not for the faint of heart and you must know going in, there is quite a lot of violence and betrayal.

Once you get through this book, you'll be left breathless and wanting more. I can't wait for book two.

Vlad is the first installment in the V Games series. I devoured this book. I couldn't get enough of the character this duo created.

The Games – the backbone of the first families. It weeds the weak from the strong, the men from the boys. The outcome determines who rules within their world.

"When you're a Vasiliev, you don't enter the world with potential to be great, you are great."

Vlad is the oldest son of the Vasiliev family, a first family. Certain things are expected of him. He will one day run the family, so who he is married to is very important and already planned. It's all about who will stand with him in power while bringing something worthwhile into the family.

Irina Volkov is also part of the first family but is the second daughter. In this world, women are born to be married off for as much as they can get. Irina has always had a crush on Vlad, an unrequited crush. Vlad and Diana, Irina's older sister, are to be married. Be the next power couple. They are friends, but no love is between them. Irina's heart breaks knowing Diana will be with Vlad. Diana makes a deal with Vlad – she'll marry him, but Irina is to move in with them and never be forced to marry someone. She'll marry for love. Irina's heart doesn't know if she can watch Vlad day to day without it killing her. Vlad's quiet obsession of Irina could become more than he can handle.

The suspense, the sex, the underhanded backstabbing... I couldn't get enough. I loved what this duo put together. These characters, they're dark and mysterious, sexy and cunning, and oh so intriguing. I can't wait to get more of this world.

I know I'm among the minority, but I will say I normally LOVE anything written by both of these authors, not so much with Vlad.

The set up for this book was perfect. We have the Russian Mafia families outlined in the beginning of the book so we can keep up with who is who. Vlad is part of the first family, the strongest, the vicious Vasiliev. The V Games are their form of entertainment, and they are brutal.

Vlad just didn't appeal to me. The entire story revolves around his betrothal to Diana Volkov (of a different first family). Friends their whole lives, this isn't a terrible thing... except if they want to marry for love. Irina Volkov (little sister to Diana) is used to living in her sister's shadow, but she wants so much more.

I don't want to give anything away, the story itself is very complicated – many characters are introduced, and situations are being set up. My issue was the characters. I didn't like Vlad until the end. I couldn't empathize with Irina. I just didn't feel anything for them. I wanted to, I really did.

Some stories just don't appeal to everyone. This was it for me.
I will say, I REALLY want to read the next one – I NEED TO KNOW what happens!
