I love The Doms of Genesis series! Each book CAN be read as a standalone, but reading the series in order is so much more entertaining. The stories do build on previous books, but you wouldn't be completely lost if you started later.

Seeking My Destiny is the story of the club's masochistic brat. She's the girl that everyone loves to hate. I believe she's been mentioned in each book of the series, and at no time has she been endearing. This is her story. (I have to admit that I'm amazed with Jenna Jacob's writing!)

Sasha Evans, aka Destiny, is a strong-willed, successful business woman. She owns and runs her own business. She keeps her business life separate from her personal life. Being a consummate brat, finding a dom/sadist to work with her tends to be difficult – until now. The picture-perfect man is willing and able to take her in hand. The only problem is that she has found someone else who has tickled her fancy. Two different men, two different approaches – so many possibilities!

I'm not willing to give anything away, but this was a very interesting, intriguing read. Finding out who Sasha is and why she is the way she is, along with Law and Cane, kept me on the edge of my seat. Have I mentioned this story is unbelievably steamy, HOT, scorching?!? It's all that.

Who knew Destiny could be likeable? Who knew Destiny could be loved?


Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆☆

Sasha is used to being in control. Whether it is in her personal life or her life as Destiny, she needs the control or at least to feel some semblance of control. Destiny has been mentioned in several stories in this series and it seems that everyone loves to hate on her. She's the brat that everyone will play with, but nobody will commit to. I actually started to feel bad for her, despite her attitude in the stories, because all of the doms were willing to try with her, but nobody, at least in my mind, truly tried. They just pretended to try.

Sasha is at the end of her hope and you could feel her desperation and hatred of herself. I felt so sorry for her and even though she sometimes brought the attitude towards herself on herself, I still felt that she was owed much more in the previous books than what she had.

Her story is interesting because there are a few different things that happen and it's all intriguing, wonderful, and challenging. I was slightly disappointed with the head of the club and his role – I felt that it was a huge betrayal, and nothing was really done. However, with everything else that was going on, I can kind of understand.

This is a great story about self discovery, love, and learning to trust yourself. I don't want to write too much because it will give everything awesome that happens away


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the eighth book in the series – and one which I have been eagerly awaiting. Destiny, or Sasha by day, has been the catalyst and thorn in the side of many doms and subs at Genesis. I have often felt very sorry for her, as she is so misunderstood, and finally she gets her chance at happiness this time.

Ms. Jacob is very good at weaving the lives and loves of the members of Genesis, and you would appreciate the intricacies much better if you have read them in order. Certainly the Kerr situation benefits from prior knowledge, to understand just how unpleasant a man he is.

I loved the buildup between Sasha and Law, and Destiny and Cane, and I made some incorrect assumptions, which made the twists even more fun. I laughed at her sarcasm, but also sighed at her insecurities. She was really laid bare in every sense of the word in this book, and dealt with that reality in an amazingly intelligent way, thanks to her men.

Super hot, fun, intense, and immensely satisfying – this may be my favourite in the series so far! Thank you, Ms. Jacob.

Just like the previous books in this series, this was a good book. I loved the chemistry between Max and Sammie. They were so hot together. I loved seeing the other characters from previous books as well. At times, I will admit I wanted to slap Sammie and tell her to just stop fighting her feelings. I understand why she was but seriously, that was a long time to be holding all that back. I know we all grieve in different ways but goodness, she had the perfect man in front of her and she was just being a pain in the butt by not being honest. I loved Max, how could you not? Good story with a little drama and lots of hot sex.

Sammie is a domme. She works with subs and is amazing at it. However, there is something in her past that calls to her as well and when Maximus walks in, that hidden part of her personality is unleashed.

Sammie is complex and sometimes dense about her feelings, but overall, I think that she struggles with her choices and why those choices had to be made.

Max is hot. He's commanding, loving, stern, protective – all of the yummy qualities of a great dom.

When he and Sammie get together, they have explosive chemistry. However, I do wish that they talked more about the hows and whys – it felt that once Sammie did the searching herself, everything was okay.

The secondary characters were amazing, just like in previous books. I can't wait to see if more characters emerge with their own stories.

This series contains some seriously hot BDSM and easy to like characters, this installment follows the in the same steps!

Sammie has been introduced in previous books, she's a no-nonsense domme who loves her job. We get to really know her, and what I learned totally shocked me. What she learned about herself, though, is why you need to read this story! Not all is as it seems, and sometimes a person's past needs to be faced to truly live in the present.

When Dylan's ex-Captain from the Marine Corps comes to visit the club, Sammie is immediately caught in his web. Strong, sexy, and total alpha-male, Mr. Max Gunn knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go and get it. Unfortunately, his sights are set on the one woman who doesn't want to face his brand of control.

The story builds slowly and many of Sammie's secrets are revealed. Max is patient, devoted, and sweet, yet he holds a serious, foreboding, and strong sense of dominance. His strength is the perfect counterpoint to Sammie's stubbornness. Unfortunately, Sammie was a bit dense to the point of annoyance.

Their chemistry was off the charts HOT and the slow build was satisfying.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story, but I LOVED Max!


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the seventh book in the series – and it is very easy to sink back into the world of Genesis. Do read them in order to get the story of the individual romances, but this has a good story in its own right.

Mistress Sammie has been a bit of a mystery since the beginning, and it turns out that she needed to meet Max to find fulfilment. As the story unfolds, we are treated to a lovely story of acceptance and love, as well as some wonderful snarkiness and humour. Their chemistry is intense and has the power to break through some well-constructed walls. Hot, sweet, moving, and hopeful; this is a lovely addition to the series.

Thank you Ms. Jacob – and can't wait for the next dom to get his happily ever after!

Trevor and Drake have had a hard road. They met under circumstances that nobody should ever have to endure and now, faced with the same trauma, they have to find their way back to each other again.

After Trevor is beaten, almost to death, he is having a difficult time coming to grips with what happened to him, why it happened, and where he goes from here. Gone is the happy sub who can make a joke about anything. He is trapped in his own world of pain and trauma, and no matter how much he wants to break free, there is a barrier he just can't cross.

Daddy Drake is floundering. He loves Trevor, but can't seem to help him past his trauma like he did last time. While Drake knows he has to give Trevor time, he also can tell they are both becoming frustrated.

These two are bound and determined to not let the trauma win – to not let the hate-filled, tattoo-faced dirtbags rule their happiness. Jacob's relayed a story where love really does conquer all – there are ups and downs in this short book, but each one is carefully plotted and developed. This is a great ending to Trevor and Daddy Drake's story.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!! Wish it was longer, I didn’t want it to end. Drake and Trevor are just an amazing couple and you can feel the love oozing off the pages and they both want things back to normal so badly. The way these two guys are with each other, always have each other’s back and are willing to do anything and everything to have what they once had again was a joy to read. The group of friends they have surrounding them are amazing as well. I don’t want to say what happens, but the ending is just perfect.

I am so, so happy to report that this series is right back on track!
It features two key characters that we met in book one and have been staples in this series. They both play a significant role in Club Genesis, and I just love them.

This is a story of two men, who deeply love one another but lost their way due to both becoming victims (in different ways) of a horrific hate crime. Now I know that this series is mostly about super hot BDSM, and unlikely people finding love. Bound to Surrender is deeper than that.

This is the story of two men who need to find their way back to one another. This is the story of two men fighting for what they know they deserve, it's a journey of healing. It's really the beginning chapter to the rest of their lives.
It's a beautiful conclusion to the traumatic episode that neither of these guys deserved!

My only complaint? I really wish it was longer!

This is a very special book and anyone following the series would be delighted with what Ms. Jacob has created here. You do need to have read the previous books to appreciate this story. I am assuming you have in my review.

This is a heart-wrenching, but ultimately heartwarming story, which follows on from Trevor's terrible attack. He and Drake were so clearly perfect together that it is horrible to see how far from each other this has left them. As we hear each of their points of view, it is difficult to understand how they keep missing each other emotionally, as they are so close, yet so far. It is an interesting way of reminding us all about the value of honest communication – and when not to assume blame. My favourite line in the book – which will stay with me for a long time as I laughed so much – related to talking about insurance... read it and see!

Highly recommended for any fan of this series.

I am going to be among the minority on this one.
I want to first say that I'm a huge fan of this series, and so far, I've loved all of the characters (even if I hated them to start with). I like watching the unlikely pairings and feeling the emotion and devotion that the world of BDSM provides.

This book may be read as a standalone as each book is based on a new set of characters, but I would definitely suggest starting at the beginning!

We met Cindy in book five, she's a nurse that works with Liz in the Emergency Department of the hospital. She also had a HUGE crush on Dr. Sam and they've started dating.
This book starts in the middle of Cindy having a crisis (mostly with herself) and showing her deep-rooted trust issues. Due to this, Sam is forced to "show his hand" earlier than he wanted, and everything goes to hell quickly for the pair.

My issue with this story is with Sam. He isn't as compassionate to Cindy's plight as I wanted.
Instead of explaining himself and his proclivities from the beginning of their budding relationship, he explores his kinky side at Genesis without Cindy. Even worse, I feel, he expects her to accept this domination without question when she's clearly not willing to.

As the story continues, we learn about Cindy's past and her hesitancy with the entire BDSM culture. I'm happy to admit that Sam does, eventually, redeem himself. That being so, overall he is my least favored character of the six books.

Hmmm, so far, this is my least favorite of this series. And I am so disappointed because I love Cindy in the previous stories. She is best friends with Liz and knows how to get the job done. She is strong, independent, and has lived her life hearing she's not good enough.

Then you have Dr. Sam. While he is commanding and domineering, I felt that he wanted to change Cindy too much. I didn't think that he was very mature, nor very nice, actually. Yes, he had a protective streak, but in the end, I just couldn't really connect with his relationship views and how and what he wanted from Cindy.

This story was full of miscommunications on both main characters' parts and that was just frustrating. Especially given that Sam was supposed to be this experienced Dom. And, while I can understand that not all Doms have had relationship experience, it seemed that Cindy had to do all of the giving.

Also, the "past" of Cindy was just kind of thrown in there. There wasn't really a story there. Overall, this is my least favorite and could be skipped in the series.

This book wasn’t one of my favorites in the series. This couple just didn’t work for me. Sam was a jerk, instead of just telling Cindy about his “likes,” he hid them and then expected her to be okay with them when she found out. Cindy was just too closed minded for me and, at times, too much of a whiner. I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and I just didn’t enjoy the book.
