Maksim’s chest heaved as he read me the riot act. “You are fucking impossible.”

“And you are the worst man I could ever have been shackled to!”

His hand snapping out, he squeezed my cheeks hard.

I tried not to flinch, but his grip was vise-like.

I struggled, kicking at anything I could reach.

He speared his tongue into my mouth, wildly claiming what he thought was rightfully his. Holding me caged against him, he drove a hand into my hair, angling my neck, trying to conquer me.

I let out a strangled growl then let the rage and arousal explode out of me.

Wrath, lust... I despised him.

Desire, rage... I wanted some part of him.

Maksim grunted when I licked between his lips, drawing me up his body so we collided in all the right ways—for once.

We kissed so ferociously, clawing at each other, practically tearing into one another to get some kind of upper hand out of this pure madness.

Then, Maksim struck.

He grabbed both sides of my blazer and ripped it open. Buttons popped off, pinging across the room. I looked down at my ruined leather jacket just as he tore if off my back.

Breasts thrust against the corset that remained, I saw him through a haze of red when he slung the jacket aside like it was no more than a piece of rubbish.

I launched back to smack him right across his face, but he captured my wrist in an iron grip.

He towed me inexorably against him again, and all my feral instincts went into meeting his wild kiss.

A loud groan thundered from his chest when I rolled my tongue over his then nipped at his bottom lip. His hands roved from my arms to my ass, and he cranked me right against his undeniable erection, which threw me back into that heady spiral of hate and lust.

His sculpted features came slowly into focus when he drew back.

A filthy grin the likes of which I’d never seen played across his lips that—goddamn him—had felt perfectly voracious against mine. “Shall I tell you what I’ve been thinking about?”

“What?” All the breath caught in my chest, my voice emerging raspingly.

His smirk widened. He paced backward a couple of steps. Without taking his eyes off mine, he removed his tie. With a shift of his strong hands, he unbuttoned his shirt from top to bottom. A shrug of ropey shoulders, and he eased the material from his muscular tattooed torso.

Then his fingers—the ones that had bit into the fleshiness of my ass—dropped to his trousers.

The belt slithered and hissed like a snake when he removed it. He stepped out of his shoes, toed off his socks, went for the closure of his pants.

His voice the same gruff timbre as always, he unzipped, saying, “I have been thinking about my cock in your mouth, Sashenka.”

Please read the previous books in the series. You will not be disappointed, and it'll help you understand these characters and the dynamic relationships.

You know how they say that sometimes hate borders on love? Well, Maksim and Sasha walk that fine line. Maksim has been tasked with watching Sasha for years. He knows his job and knows that if she were his, her sassy mouth wouldn't say half of the things that come out of it. Her sexy outfits would be for his eyes only and he would spank her every chance he could.

Sasha hates having Maksim watching her. She knows he doesn't think much of her, so she uses her sexuality to get what she wants instead. Sasha loves torturing Maksim with her tiny outfits and sassy mouth.

When an old Russian family comes for blood, Sasha and Maksim will find themselves in a situation they never thought possible. You get to see different sides of each character and they are refreshing. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and change.

This was a fast-paced story with all of the previous characters and some fun stuff thrown in. It's a great story from start to finish and I hope we get a future book.

The Russian Bodyguard is the third installment in the Krasnov Brothers series. You should read them in the order that the author intended. Not only are the other brothers’ stories worth the read but the build up with these characters starts in the first book and builds from there.

Maksim has been given the task of watching Sasha. He has done so for years but Sasha doesn't make it easy on him. She's bratty, she talks back, and she tries to slip away from him constantly. Maksim deals with her bad behavior but wants to spank her like the child she acts like. She uses her sexuality to get what she wants. Their relationship borders on hate. When Sasha is in danger, Maksim will do whatever he has to to protect her. But spending so much time together sparks a passion they weren't expecting. I love seeing their relationship grow. Their chemistry is chart topping.

I love this fast-paced dangerous world that Rie Warren puts me in. Action and suspense with romance thrown in makes for a perfect read. I can't wait to see what comes next!


Mary – ☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in this series and I highly recommend you read the others; you do not want to miss a thing in this series. Each brother finds love in a way they least expect.

Maksim is Sasha's bodyguard; he will protect her with his life. But sometimes he wants to spank her for her childish ways. She likes pushing his buttons just to see what he will do.

When a rival comes after the family for revenge, it is Sasha who steps up to protect her family. Can Maksim save her before it is too late?

The fire between Maksim and Sasha is sizzling and will burn, but these two have been dancing around each other for years. They will either combust or be perfect together.

I really enjoyed this book, loved the push and pull between Maksim and Sasha. Their protectiveness over each other and the family was perfect. As with the other books, this one is fast-paced, in-your-face, all mafia and I love mafia stories. I hope you read this series and enjoy it too.

When she is rescued by Arkady, she's very wary of him. He's dangerous and she knows it. However, with her past and her life all jumbled at the moment, is he just what she needs?

Lucia and Arkady find themselves both in unfamiliar territory. Arkady, for once, wants to protect Lucia from herself and her family, and Lucia is wanting to let him. With a tense truce, these two will have to navigate their dangerous worlds and see if they can come out intact on the other side.

The chemistry between these two is heated and they fit each other well. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to see more.

If they would both give in to their desires. When they finally do, they see that they both are helping the other, that they didn't know was possible.

As they get to know each other, Lucia explains her past to Arkady, and he falls even more for her. But when her father and his goons come to take her back, Arkady is defenseless because he has no backup.

Can Arkady save her from a life she doesn't deserve? Will he make her his in the end? Can Lucia hold on to hope that Arkady will save her?

I love mafia stories and this series is one of my favorites. The author has a way of keeping you glued to every word until the end and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book.

The Russian Savage: Enemy of the Bratva is the second book in the Krasnov Brothers series. It can be read as a standalone. There is mention to the first book, but they aren't intertwined enough that you can't read as a standalone. That being said, you should read book one, The Russian Thug: Abducted by the Bratva, it's a delicious read and shouldn't be missed.

When Arkady saves a woman being harassed by two gangs in an alley, he never imagined the gift he was given. Unknowingly, she was on her way to kill his brother; finding this out, Arkady takes her to his home and locks her in a room until he can figure out how this woman can work in his advantage. What he doesn't expect is falling for the dark-haired beauty and wanting to make her his.

Book two is a bit darker than book one but it fits Arkady's personality perfectly. Lucia and Arkady have instant chemistry and you can't help but cheer them on. The twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat.

I can't wait to see what's next for the Krasnov Brothers!

Kirill Krasnov is an enforcer for the Russian Bratva. He knows what is expected of him and does it without feeling. After making a deal with the O'Sullivan Irish clan nearby, when it's discovered that the O'Sullivans have been shorting the Russians, Kirill knows he has to get to the bottom of the issue and fast. Nobody takes advantage of his Bratva. But when he confronts the O'Sullivan delivery person, it's not who he expects.

Joanna O'Sullivan (Jo) knows that she isn't living the typical life. More than most, Jo knows what can lie underneath the belly of the beast. When she is delivering their agreed amount of alcohol to the Russian Bratva, unbeknownst to her, her family has been shorting them. When she's kidnapped and held so that the O'Sullivan clan will start rectifying the issue, Jo knows that she might just be safer with the Bratva than at home.

Jo's brothers and Kirill have to figure out a way to work together to come up with a solution. Kirill and Jo have chemistry that jumps off the page at you. You can feel the pull they have and see the changes they go through in order to figure out what they are going to do about their chemistry. When the unthinkable happens, Kirill will have to decide if Jo is worth the fight.

I cannot wait to read more of this series. This one was amazing and kept you on your toes.

The Russian Thug: Abducted by the Bratva is the first book in the Krasnov Brothers series.

Kirill Krasnov is the enforcer of the Russian Bratva and he takes his job quite seriously. When it's suspected that the O'Sullivans of the Irish Mafia are delivering watered down alcohol to their club, he takes matters into his own hands. He meets the delivery driver on the dock and demands to know what is going on. Finding out that the delivery trucker isn't who he expects, he comes up with a plan to make the Irish pay.

Joanna O'Sullivan is the only daughter and treated like a slave by her father. Her brothers tried to protect her the best they could but being on the Irish compound was the most dangerous place she could be, including being abducted by the Bratva.

"When you're in trouble, I will always come for you, malyshka."

You could feel the chemistry between Kirill and Jo burning through the pages. He wasn't the type to fall for one woman but something about the Irish tomboy called to him in ways he couldn't understand. I loved the suspense and darkness. The side characters where just as entertaining and had me invested in them. I can't wait to get more of these brothers.

Kirill and his brothers were orphaned when they were young. When they tried to pull one over on Yury, part of the Russian mafia, Yury saw something in them that he could mold and grow them into his very own and they would be part of his crew. Now years later, Kirill is the enforcer and he takes his job seriously. When he finds that the Irish mob has been watering down the alcohol, he meets the delivery driver for a little talk. He is surprised to find that Joe is really Joanna. The daughter of the head of the Irish mob. He decided to hold her to get the O'Sullivans to take notice.

Jo/Joanna takes her delivery driving job seriously. It is the only freedom she has to get away from her father and his goons. When she goes to the Bratva, she can't believe that Kirill has found out that she is really a woman. And that he has taken her captive. But as long as the mafia doesn't treat her the way that her father does, she is better off with the Russian thug.

Will Kirill learn the real reason she has been driving the delivery truck? And why no one has come after her? Will Joanna learn to trust Kirill and his brothers? Can these two live together without acting on the sizzling chemistry between them?

I really enjoyed this story and the chemistry between Jo and Kirill. And I look forward to more in this series from the brothers. I have read others from this author and can't wait to read more from her.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series; I would say that you would understand the dynamics of the motorcycle club (MC) and its members much better if you have read them in order. The first two deal with an ongoing issue that affects the whole MC and are very moving reads. Here we deal with Saint's personal past, and his hoped for future!

Honoré is an unlikely match for Saint, but wait until you find out more about her ex... she is a classically trained musician, who chose the bad boy, and has had to curb her plans ever since as she is now a mum. As both she and Saint hide part of themselves, their possible relationship is on sketchy ground, but little did they realise that there was even more hidden from both of them.

It was fun catching up with the gang and their change in fortune, although it certainly softened the wildness that one expects from an MC. However, once they had caught up with Saint's problems they gave the hipsters that drink in their bar something to talk about – loved the continuing joke about the cocktails that they serve them!

A surprisingly sweet and sexy read for an MC story, will be interesting to see what happens next to this group of reformed hard cases.


Sarah – ☆☆☆
This is another steamy, action-filled read about the Blood Legion MC. Ex-con Saint isn’t exactly the perfect match for classically trained musician Honoré and he’s probably not the most promising role model for her young son. But Saint and Honoré fall hard and fast for each other while holding tight to the secrets in their pasts. When they finally are forced to come clean to each other, they find themselves in an impossible situation.

Honoré, like Mercy and Grace before her, is another victim of domestic abuse and rape. I have to say that I’m getting a little bit tired of all the violence against women in these books and I’m really ready for another fierce female character like Blaize from the X-Ops books. Honoré is a mother who must protect her son from his violent father. Like Angel and Slade before him, Saint is immediately infatuated with Honoré and he’ll do just about anything to make her fall for him.

This is a very steamy read, but some of the flirting and dirty talk between Saint and Honoré hits the wrong side of ridiculous. The writing of the sex scenes hits somewhere between hyperbole and full on melodrama – entertaining in a giggling about naughty books in a school dormitory kind of way.

It’s difficult to sustain the badass reputation of an MC when previous couples are loved up and having babies. I never really enjoy the move from Outlaws to playgroup dads at this point in a series and I really hated some of the super cute scenes in this book. This is totally a personal preference but I’m not sure why anyone would choose to read biker romance for the cute dads and adorable pregnant women. I read this kind of romance to escape the mundane domesticity in my own life and I just find the happy biker family happily ever afters irritating.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
4.5 stars of angst laden loving!

This is the second book in the series, and I really think that you need to have read book one to understand the depth of loyalty that is within both Grace and Slade. They are amazing characters and I felt that repeatedly throughout this story.

We left the Blood Legion MC having freed the women from the White Lair and helped them to recover and reintegrate into society... but Grace went missing and Slade has been trying to search her down ever since. He has a background in the Marines and CIA, so he has the skills, but it is taking far longer than he likes, and he fears for what might have befallen her.

He is right to have worried. Grace had been taken and sold. When he does finally find her, he has to pay for her time, and clearly, she will not leave and put him or the rest of the Blood Legion MC at risk – she does not consider herself worth it. She also has another reason, but she daren't tell him that as it will surely stop him visiting. I love how she is so protective of everyone else and denying of her own needs. Whilst she has been treated appallingly, she remains a woman of great strength and determination. It was incredibly difficult to imagine what a nightmare she was prepared to live through, in order to keep everyone else safe.

Slade is stumped, but he calls in all the forces that he can to gain Grace her freedom. He also finds out just how evil the man is who has her in his possession, and his actions will save many, not just Grace.

Obviously none of this is smooth easy reading, but I am strongly of the opinion that we should read about stuff that is tough and bites, as that is what makes us appreciate the ease of our lives. Rie Warren certainly knows how to sail very close to how far her readers can go, but it is always worth the risk!


Sarah – ☆☆☆☆
The second book in this series focuses on Grace, a human trafficking victim, and Slade, an MC member with a complicated past. It’s an exciting read and I enjoyed the connection between Slade and Grace.

Slade’s hunt for Mercy’s friend, Grace, is a little bit obsessive at the start of the book and it’s only when we start to learn about his personal history that the obsession makes sense. I like that Slade has as many dark secrets as Grace does and his conflicted need to protect her is beautiful. I found Grace a more confusing character. Without spoilers, I still don’t understand her motivation or actions at various points in the book. I like her resilience and I had empathy for her situation, but I didn’t ever fully understand her.

Human trafficking is an important topic but I’m not sure it works terribly well in an otherwise light romance/action story. Grace’s character needed more complexity and nuance to be believable but the things that would have made her a more realistic victim/survivor of human trafficking are things that wouldn’t make her a great romantic leading lady. The author skirts the surface of Grace’s experiences, touching on important issues but also setting Grace up for a romantic happily ever after. I found it difficult to enjoy the romance and sex in this book without considering, like both characters do, the power imbalance between Slade and Grace and the potential for Slade to further exploit Grace. If I don’t think too hard, the book works but I was uneasy with some of the sexual moments that should have been steamy.

My big frustration with this book is that the central conflict feels completely contrived. Without spoilers, I don’t understand what prevented the actions that led to ‘Saving Grace’ happening much sooner. However, like the first book, I really enjoyed the characters in this story. The MC members continue to be quirky and entertaining and I loved Bunny.

This is the second book in this series and probably the fifth book that some of these characters have featured in. I don’t even know where to tell readers to start with Rie Warren’s intertwining series but I think that readers will understand this one if they read it after the first one.


Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆
This book was better than the first one in the series. The attraction between Slade and Grace had time to grow, to become something they could both believe in.

Grace's life is not simple and now she's walking on eggshells to keep her child safe. What she doesn't know is that the man who 'owns' her is more evil than she thought.

Slade has promised himself to keep Grace safe and if in doing so, he changes the face of New Orleans forever so be it.

I fell in love with both Grace and Slade and can't wait for the next book in the series.
