Ride Dirty by Laura Kaye Blog Tour

Brotherhood. Club. Family.
They live and ride by their own rules.
These are the Raven Riders…

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Laura Kaye comes a new story in her Raven Riders series…

Caine McKannon is all about rules. As the Raven Riders Sergeant-at-Arms, he prizes loyalty to his brothers and protection of his club. As a man, he takes pleasure wherever he can get it but allows no one close—because distance is the only way to ensure people can’t hurt you. And he’s had enough pain for a lifetime.

But then he rescues a beautiful woman from an attack.

Kids and school are kindergarten teacher Emma Kerry’s whole life, so she’s stunned to realize she has an enemy—and even more surprised to find a protector in the intimidating man who saved her. Tall, dark, and tattooed, Caine is unlike any man Emma’s ever known, and she’s as uncertain of him as she is attracted. As the danger escalates, Caine is in her house more and more – until one night of passion lands him in her bed.

But breaking the rules comes at a price, forcing Caine to fight dirty to earn a chance at love.

***Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.***

“What are you doing to me?”

“Trying to let you know I care,” Emma said. Like it was obvious. Like it was normal. Like it wasn’t blowing his goddamn mind. And then she just kept right on doing it. “For almost three weeks now, you’ve inhabited my dreams and dominated my thoughts and…” She ducked her gaze.

“What?” he rasped, dying for her to continue. He rolled them, pinning her under him. And, damn if that wasn’t a heady thing, especially as she went soft and pliant, her cheeks filling with a pink heat he tasted with his tongue. “And what?”

“And made me so horny so often that I feel like I’m going a little crazy.”

Trapped in between them, his cock was so demandingly hard that his hips surged against hers. “Christ,” he bit out, half wondering if he was asleep in his trailer having a dream from which he never wanted to wake. Because stuff like this didn’t happen to him. “I’ll get you off again. Gladly. Did you like my mouth?”

Her eyes went wide. “I freaking loved your mouth. Did you really need to ask?”

“I just want to be good for you.”

“Then just be you. I’m crazy about that mouth, but I’m also crazy about the rest of you, too.” Her arms looped around his neck and her fingers played in the back of his hair. It was only a matter of time… Her fingers moved over the ruined skin above his hairline where the hair didn’t grow right anymore. She didn’t say anything about it, but he didn’t miss the questions that passed over her expression. “Kiss me?”

On a groan, he did. His mouth found hers already open, her tongue meeting his lick for lick and stroke for stroke. She moaned and shifted beneath him, her knees pulling up and opening so that his hardness lined up with her sweet heat. They kissed until he couldn’t breathe and didn’t want to, not if it meant parting from her, and then she rolled her hips and ground her core against him. Once, twice, three times. God, she could use him like this forfuckingever and he’d die a happy man. Or as close to happy as he was capable of. “Yeah, Emma. You want to get off on my cock?”

Her eyes were soft and hooded and so full of desire that he thrust himself and met her hips as they rolled again. “Yes,” she whispered, panting against his lips. “I want you. All of you.”

4.5 stars of sweet and dirty!

This is a great book for a Ravens Riders fan, but also an excellent starting point for any newbies to the series. We get a good insight into the ethos of the club, without any sugar coating, but we don't delve too deeply into the MC world either.

Caine is just brought to life in this book as a man who has suffered such damage as a child that his protective and caring behaviour is a testament to his strength of character. How he finally finds someone who understands and accepts him is an absolute treat to read. There is a lot of sadness revealed in the story, but also some moments of real fun. Chewy's lick at the most inappropriate moment and place is just the funniest thing I have read in ages!

I also loved Emma, she shows great strength, reserves of calm and good sense, and yet is wild and wicked when in the arms of this man. As the story unfolds and the twist is revealed, it is very endearing to watch everything come together for these two people who previously functioned best alone.

Thank you, Ms. Kaye, for creating such a satisfying story in a novella.

Caine is the Sargent-at-Arms of the Raven Riders MC, he is the loner of the group. He doesn't like to talk much because that leads to questions which leads to asking about his past. He doesn't talk about his past, so staying away from his brothers is the best way to not have to talk about his past. While on his way home one night, he swings by the house of a woman they are protecting to make sure she is safe. When he hears a noise, it makes his skin crawl. It is a whimper of a woman and a bark of what seems like a small dog. When Caine gets close, he sees a woman being attacked. He rushes to help her but gets tangled in the dog's leash and the attacker gets away.

Emma Kerry is a kindergarten teacher who lives alone since her grandmother died a few years ago. She does have her beloved dog, Chewy. While on her way home from the store one night, she is attacked. When a man comes to help, Chewy seems to wrap his leash around the man and the attacker gets away. At least she and her dog are okay. But her purse and everything in it, including the medicine for her migraine is gone. At least she still has her cell phone.

While Caine wants to make sure Emma is safe, Emma isn't sure she can trust him. He looks intimidating after all. She wants for the locksmith to show, she notices Caine is sitting in the cold waiting, watching, just to be sure her attacker doesn't come back. After the locksmith leaves, Caine checks Emma's windows, locks, and doors before he leaves to be sure she is safe. He isn't going to leave her on her own if he can help it. While Caine is checking her place a few days later, he sees signs that someone has been trying to get into her house and he doesn't tell her, because he can watch from a distance and keep her safe.

As Caine and Emma get closer, he doesn't know how she will react to his past and he doesn't want to tell her. Can Emma see that what happened was when he was a child and not his fault? Can Caine realize that what happened all those years ago was not his fault? Will Caine and Emma have a chance at a future if she can help him move from his past?

I have loved everything about the Raven Riders series and loved Caine and Emma too. His pain and heartache will make you cry and want to hug him, and this story will leave you feeling so much love for Emma and Caine. I hope there will be more from the Raven Riders one day. I recommend reading the whole series, but you can read them as standalone stories and you will not want to miss any of the stories. So, sit back and enjoy the ride with Laura Kaye and the Raven Riders. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Caine is a hard man. He's lived a hard life and despite having a biker family, he is still quite the loner. When things are hard, he takes off riding to clear his head. But he always returns to his family. While he's clearing his head, he happens upon a mugging and does what he can to stop the attack.

Emma is a quirky, outgoing elementary teacher. She is all alone in the world, except for her friends. She loves her job and knows that even though her friends think she might be a little boring, she's content. When she finds out that someone might be after her, she can't understand it at all.

Caine is drawn to Emma and Emma to Caine. They both don't know much about each other but know that they have an undeniable pull towards each other. Caine will stop at nothing to keep Emma safe and Emma wants Caine's protection.

I was able to figure the mystery out, but I bet a lot of readers will be surprised. I really enjoyed this story and hope more are to come!

I was completely obsessed with this book from the very first page – absolutely loved it!

Caine is a biker who came from a terribly rough past. He’s dedicated his life to helping others and when he comes across a woman, Emma, being mugged, he jumps in to help her. When the mugger escapes with Emma’s wallet and keys, Caine makes it his own personal mission that she make it home safe and stay that way – even if it means camping outside her house 24/7. Emma has an immediate attraction to Caine but they’re from different worlds – Caine a rough around the edges biker and Emma a sweet kindergarten teacher. Emma has decided on her own mission – Caine.

I just loved every aspect of Caine and Emma’s story. It’s fast paced, has a ton of intrigue, is super hot, and has fantastic characters. This is definitely a one-sitting type of book because once you start it, you won’t want to put it down!

Ride Wild by Laura Kaye

Brotherhood. Club. Family.
They live and ride by their own rules.
These are the Raven Riders…

Wild with grief over the death of his wife, Sam “Slider” Evans merely lives for his two sons. Nothing holds his interest anymore—not even riding his bike or his membership in the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club. But that all changes when he hires a new babysitter.

Recently freed from a bad situation by the Ravens, Cora Campbell is determined to bury the past. When Slider offers her a nanny position, she accepts, needing the security and time to figure out what she wants from life. Cora adores his sweet boys, but never expected the red-hot attraction to their brooding, sexy father. If only he would notice her...

Slider does see the beautiful, fun-loving woman he invited into his home. She makes him feel too much, and he both hates it and yearns for it. But when Cora witnesses something she shouldn’t have, the new lives they’ve only just discovered are threatened. Now Slider must claim—and protect—what’s his before it’s too late.

Cora Campbell came to the Ravens with her BFF Raven and you would think she was only helping her friend escape her life of hell. But Cora had her own hell to escape from. While staying at the Ravens’ clubhouse, she meets Slider, he is a single dad in need of a babysitter. Cora loves kids and Slider’s are fun to be around and they are great kids. So, she has found herself falling in love with both Sam and Ben the more time she spends with them. But then there is Slider, he is quiet, not talkative, but Cora sees something underneath and she wants to pull him out of his grief.

Sam "Slider" Evans hasn't been a true brother in a few years, since his wife died. He has been grieving but doesn't want the brothers to know the real reason of his grief. While he works nights, he needs someone to stay with his boys. When he sees Cora at the Ravens’ clubhouse, he thinks she will do as long as she takes care of the boys. What Slider doesn't realize is that Cora will worm her way into all of the Evans boys’ hearts, including his. And she might be just what Slider needs to bring him back to his former self but better.

Can Slider and Cora be what the other needs to make a life for each other and the boys? Will Slider tell Dare the truth about why he hasn't been around much? Will the boys accept Cora in their lives as more than a babysitter? Will the Ravens ever catch who is behind the waste dumping and get Jagger out of jail?

I am loving this series and each book is better than the last, if that is possible. I hope there will be more from the Raven Riders. I love Laura Kaye's writing style when she is writing MC and BDSM, these stories will have you from the very first page and you will not want to stop reading until the very end. So grab a book and start reading now, you will not be disappointed.

This is a great story. I have loved each of these stories, but this one has so much more attached to it.

Sam "Slider" is a widower who is simply struggling to make it through the day. He knows that he is giving everything he can to his boys and because of that, he doesn't have time for anything else. He has pulled away from his boys in order to preserve what little he has left of himself.

Cora is a bubbly personality unless you know what trauma she has been through. She hides it well, but deep down, she is struggling with what happened. When she finally confides in Haven, I love that they bond so well together. They were both in hell and escaped for each other and themselves. Cora is trying desperately to get Slider to see her. She loves his boys and wouldn't leave them for anything. She also is an animal lover and begins to volunteer at the local shelter. Day after day she comes home drained because she sees the abuse that some animals endure.

When the abused animals cause more issues, it's up to Slider and his boys to try to figure out who they can trust and how to protect those that they love. There is a lot going on in this story -personal life happens, plus the business of the abused animals, and club business.

I loved this story! It was about letting go of the past, learning to forgive yourself, and letting your heart open all over again. I hope that more Ravens get their own stories soon!

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆☆
I was super excited for Slider and Cora’s story from the glimpses we got of the two in the previous books. Boy, was it everything I’d hoped for – definitely my favorite of the series so far!

Slider has two sons and has recently lost his wife to breast cancer. He’s pretty much shutout everyone in his life except for his sons and doesn’t do much of anything but go to and from work. Cora was rescued by the Raven Riders and has been taking solace in the club house since. With nothing but time and a need to earn some money she’s been offering herself as a babysitter to Slider’s kids and they’ve become pretty attached. When it becomes apparent that Slider is going to need more than just a part-time sitter, the boys jump all over him to offer Cora the job as full-time live-in nanny, and Cora is only too happy to accept. Being around Cora 24/7 has opened Slider’s eyes to the fact that Cora’s a gorgeous, hilarious woman, and slowly but surely Cora manages to bring Slider back to his old self.

I loved this story, Cora and Slider are perfect for one another and both have the absolute best personalities. Cora is hilarious and that combined with her love for Slider’s kiddos makes her one of my favorite heroines in a while. This book has drama, sexy moments, and intrigue – you won’t want to put it down once you’ve delved in! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

This is the second story in this series and I would recommend reading the first one, as there are a lot of repeat characters. While I wouldn't say it's absolutely necessary, I would strongly recommend it.

This is Maverick and Alexa's story. They have a lot of history between them. Both have suffered an enormous loss in Alexa's brother. What's left is a couple who need to learn to navigate through grief and preconceived notions.

Maverick loved Alexa once – she was his everything. When they were no more, he threw himself in to his motorcycle club and work. He knew that he would never forget Alexa. Despite the drama that the club is experiencing, when he sees Alexa in trouble, his protective instincts gear up and he's ready to protect her with everything that he is. I thought that Maverick was a great character. He was rough around the edges, but really only to those who didn't know him. The more I read about him, the more I really liked him.

Alexa is in a bad situation and finds herself running to the one person she always felt safe with – Maverick. Alexa's life is kind of a mess when she gets reacquainted with Maverick, but she also allows herself to use her heart rather than her head. She knows that she's always loved Maverick, but fear and doubt were allowed to rule her for a while.

These two have explosive chemistry, but both also know how to be tender with each other. I loved their relationship and getting to see it move beyond the more teenager type love into a more adult love. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Mary☆☆☆☆☆
Maverick Rylan is the VP of the Raven Riders MC and the loyalty he shows to the club, he also shows to one other person, Alexa Harmon. The one he let get away five years ago. So now that Alexa is back in his life, he will do anything to keep her safe. Even when her crazy ex-fiancé is trying to destroy his club.

Alexa thought that after her brother Tyler died, she couldn't handle the life that Maverick lived, so she ended things with him. And thought that a new life with Grant would give her the life and happiness she has always wanted. Until she slowly began noticing the mean things he says and way he would act, it has her worried sometimes. When he goes off the deep end and throws her out of his house, she realizes that he is only getting worse and she is done. When Maverick is there to rescue her, the feeling of letting him protect her just seems right.

While Maverick and Alexa are growing closer, Grant is plotting revenge. Who will he target first, Alexa, Maverick, or the club? Will Alexa ever be rid of Grant? Can Maverick make Alexa see that they belong together?

I loved Ride Hard and I love this one too. Dare, Haven, and the rest of the club are in this one too. This series just gets better and better and I can't wait for the next one, Ride Wild. If you are looking for a great MC story, then pick up this series and enjoy the ride.

Shannan☆☆☆☆
Maverick, the VP of Raven Riders MC, is extremely loyal to his club, to his brothers. He let Alexa walk out of his life five years ago. Her brother's death was something she couldn't get over. The club life wasn't something she could deal with, especially having to care for her mother on her own.

Alexa thinks she has everything she ever wanted, the perfect fiancé, a life she's dreamed about until Grant starts showing his true colors. In a moment of weakness, she runs to Maverick for something – help or comfort, she's not sure which. She knows she made a mistake and goes back to Grant. Maverick knows nothing about seeing Alexa again was a mistake and he will do everything in his power to help her even if she doesn't want his help.

I am really loving Maverick and Alexa’s second chance story. Maverick is swoon worthy and Alexa, although broken, fights back for what she wants. It's definitely a sexy and emotional ride that had me begging for more! I love this world that Ms. Kaye has created and can't wait for more.

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆
This MC series is becoming one of my favorites! Laura Kaye does such a great job bringing the story to life and making it one you won’t want to put down.

Maverick and Alexa were in love when Maverick’s best friend, Alexa’s brother died. Alexa left and Maverick didn’t believe he was good enough for her, so he let her go. Now, five years later, Alexa is engaged to a fiancé who gets closer to being physically abusive each day. When her fiancé finally crosses the line, Alexa leaves and Maverick will not leave her side until she’s safe. Alexa’s fiancé has connections in high places and will do whatever it takes to get Alexa back – even if that involves harming Maverick.

This is an addictive story, I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love Maverick’s character, he’s sweet towards Alexa but a badass the rest of the time. I love the bond of the MC brothers willing to do anything for the others and the glimpses of the characters from the previous book that we get. I believe this can definitely be read as a standalone. I can’t wait to read more from this series!

Shannan☆☆☆☆
Haven and her best friend, Cora, are on the run. Haven was finally able to get out from under her father's control. While on the run, their truck breaks down and they find themselves chained to a wall in a basement, but luck seems to be on their side and they end up in the best place for them, The Raven Riders MC. The MC isn't your typical club, they aren't into running guns or drugs. Their goal is to help abused woman.

Haven has been sheltered from the world, her father pulled her from school when she was in tenth grade. She was basically seen as his property and forced to do things she didn't want to. So when she arrives at the MC, she's scared, she's shy, and she has no idea who to trust. When she sees Dare, the club President, for the first time, she's drawn to him. Dare, while attracted to Haven, knows he never can get caught up with someone the club is trying to help.

Just when Haven starts to think she's safe and the MC could be her home, she finds out her father knows where she is and he's coming to get her. Will Dare be able to keep his promise to keep her safe? Will Haven be forced back into a life she hates?

I wasn't real sure about this one when I started reading. I was thrown off by the switch in narrators mid-scene, mid-chapter. It took me a few chapters to get into the groove of the writing. I'm glad I powered through, I really enjoyed this story. There were sexy moments, sweet caring, tear inducing moments, and at points I really wanted to smack both Haven and Dare. In the end, I was completely invested and had to know what was going to happen. I can't wait to see where the next one goes.

Lee’Anne☆☆☆☆
Haven and her best friend, Cora, ran away from their controlling crime-lord fathers, only to be captured by a rival gang and then rescued by the Raven Riders MC. The Raven Riders main goal is to help abused woman stay safe and begin new lives away from their abusers. Dare is the president of the MC and even though he knows he shouldn’t, he can’t help his attraction to Haven. When Haven first arrives, she’s super shy and unwilling to venture much further than her room, but once she realizes that the MC brothers are good men, she begins to become part of the club. Haven, having grown up with her father controlling every aspect of her life, is now free of him, she’s finally ready to live, she makes a bucket list of sorts, which Dare discovers and sets out to help her check things off. Things are going great for Haven until her father hones in on finding her, and with the $100,000 reward he’s put on her head, she’s worried that she may not be able to stay free.

I really enjoyed that though this wasn’t exactly your typical MC read it still had all the aspects of your typical MC romance. The guys were still alpha, rough and tumble types and we still got the clubhouse setting, which is always my favorite part of the MC life. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
As I loved the Hard Ink series, I was fairly sure that this new offshoot would be a hit – and it certainly was. I am looking forward to further stories of Raven Riders.

In part dealing with the fallout from Hard Ink, this series has a strong start with Dare getting his story told with Haven. She was released from captivity by the Riders, and now with her friend Cora, needs a new start. Dare, president of the Raven Riders, is all about giving abused women a new chance, and initially Haven is just another client. As that changes, we witness them both change too – however, as the best course of action may not be in their mutual best interest, lines of communication get twisted, and…well, you need to read the book to see where it goes!

I liked Dare from the start, but took longer to warm to Haven – but then someone so cut off from their emotions takes time to unwind, and as things heat up, she definitely improves. Some lovely scenes which reduce the fairly constant state of angst, and a worthy ending. As I say, looking forward to what comes next (oh and it was good to have a quick catch up with Nick and the gang too!).

These are the Raven Riders…

Raven Riders Motorcycle Club President Dare Kenyon rides hard and values loyalty above all else. He’ll do anything to protect the brotherhood of bikers—the only family he’s got—as well as those who can’t defend themselves. So when mistrustful Haven Randall lands on the club’s doorstep scared that she’s being hunted, Dare takes her in, swears to keep her safe, and pushes to learn the secrets overshadowing her pretty smile.

Haven fled from years of abuse at the hands of her criminal father and is suspicious of any man’s promises, including those of the darkly sexy and overwhelmingly intense Ravens’ leader. But as the powerful attraction between them flares to life, Dare pushes her boundaries and tempts her to want things she never thought she could.

The past never dies without a fight, but Dare Kenyon’s never backed down before…
