My cell phone rang a few moments later and I sighed, giving up on the idea of getting any work done for the moment.

"Woman, I feel like I haven't seen you in weeks. We're having lunch today, no arguments," Chelsea declared. "I've already talked to Yancy and Grier. Lucy can't come, so it's just the four of us."

I glanced at the clock. I had three hours to do six hours worth of work. "Chelsea, I'm not sure I'll be able to swing it today, I have a ton-"

"No excuses. I'll go down a little early and grab you something and you can eat and run, but the girls and I are dying for an update. I mean, we're assuming things are going well because you've been locked up tight with your new man, but we want details."

Knowing that she wasn't going to let it go, I relented. "Fine. I'll come down for a half hour or so and eat, but I really do have to keep it short."

"Done. I hope you don't mind talking with your mouth full because I intend to live vicariously through you. This stupid dry spell is making me consider joining that hook-up site. What's it called? Tidbits?"

Laughing, I leaned back in my chair. "No, sweetie, that's not what it's called. And I don't know what you're talking about. What about that guy who asked for your number when you and Grier went out for drinks a few weeks ago?"

"Ugh. We went to coffee and he spent the entire time talking about his investments. Forget businessmen, I need a guy who uses his hands on a daily basis and knows exactly what to do with them."

I laughed. "Jordan knows what to do with his hands."

"You can tell me all about it at lunch. Go work so you can stay for the whole hour."

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

This was a sweet, second chance romance story. While you only get a glimpse of what their relationship was beforehand, you get to see how incredible everything turned out now that the characters are older and wiser.

It's a very short story, so you can read it in one sitting. The secondary characters make the story more developed because you get to see a different side of Tanya. You even get to see a different side of Jordan when he's with his aunt, the woman who raised him.

I don't want to write too much, because it would give the story away, but family is everything, friends make life better, and love completes everything for these characters.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the third in the series and though it involves another couple, the previous couples appear in the book. So whilst it could be a standalone, I would recommend that you read them all.

Tanya works as a divorce lawyer, and lost her Mum at a young age... two reasons why she has no interest in a long lasting relationship. The third would be how much pain she felt when her last 'fling' left for NY. But now he is back and seemingly still interested in her. Told all in the first person by Tanya, we get to see how things progress. Whilst she may be certain that it's just friends with benefits, I think we can see what is really happening...

Thank you Ms. Wood for another excellent installment in the series.

Veronica – ☆☆☆

I was hooked from the first few pages. The first scene with Yancy and Charles had me cheering. As a working Mum I completely relate to Yancy.

Charles is a great lead, sweet, smart, romantic understanding - maybe even a little too perfect. A flaw or two wouldn't have gone astray.

Earning Yancy is a good, fun, traditional romantic story that left me smiling. It is well worth reading. 

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆

Yancy Stevens has had up to here with her new colleague, Charles Faulkner. Fed up and late to relieve her babysitter, Yancy let him have it, in no uncertain terms. Feeling like she was a little out of line, she made up her mind to apologize for her behavior only to have him apologize for his.

Charles Faulkner is a man with few faults. He's the perfect book boyfriend. Understanding, calm, loving and romantic. He could have used one or two flaws to shake things up with Yancy a bit, just to add a little more heat to their romance.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until the next book in the series comes out.

Hear that, Ms. Woods? Get to writing! 

Shelby – ☆☆☆☆

The 2nd book in the NSFW series, by C.C. Wood (it is a stand alone!) is about Yancy Stevens, the caffeine addict. I liked her from the 1st book, In Love with Lucy, and couldn't wait to read her story.

This felt like a VERY quick read and was well written. The characters were love-able, the story was endearing, frustrating, exciting, and just PERFECT> I need a Charles in my life!

Yancy is trying to find a balance between having a career, being a single mom of a baby, and finding time to herself.

Charles, who leaves a TERRIBLE first impression, finds a way to get Yancy to open up, to trust, and ultimately love.

This wasn't entirely sweet and romantic, there was also realistic problems Yancy faces that made me cringe (and I found myself crossing my fingers while reading it)!

Overall: I LOVED the characters, the erotic scenes were HOT, the romance was sweet, and the story was believable (to an extent - I'll let you know if I ever meet a "real" Charles, lol).

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆

This is a really sweet book that restores your faith in the idea that there are good men out there. He may be just a little too perfect, but then he has sisters, and in this case they did a good job of moulding him! There are some real issues dealt with well, some funny bits for sure, and overall this is a cute read.

If you are hankering after a lovely story that is an easy read, this is definitely for you.

This was a sweet fast read for me. Even though it is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone. Yancy is a single mom, not by choice, but she is doing the best she can and actually doing an amazing job. With great friends, an amazing daughter and a job she loves Yancy is doing good, until she loses her temper with a new coworker. When Charles mispronounces Yancy’s name yet again she flips out. That flip out moment actually leads to something, a beautiful story of learning to feel again, learning to trust again and learning to love again.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable. There need to be more men like
Charles in the world today, he was amazing.

I was in a book funk until this showed up on my Kindle.
I think I love Yancy's story more than Lucy's. I laughed with Yancy and I cried with and for her. I know, I'm a big baby.

I don't want to give too much away but some people are asses and shouldn't have kids, much less be a sperm donor.

All I'm saying is a hate C.C. Wood right now. How long do I have to wait to read the third book?

Where to start? From the word go, I enjoyed this book. As soon as I started, I wanted to know if there would be a second book and who it would be about. I held my questions until the end. Well most of them. This book is a great read. It's funny, sexy, hot, and most likely something I could and would read again. And I'm not big on re-reads.

Here's a little quote from the book....

He glanced down at my phone, then his eyes widened as he stared at the screen. I snatched it up to see that Tanya's newest message was a picture of an enormous purple double penetrator dildo and her message read, “You are obviously in need of this.”

Another great read by C.C. Wood. I'll be waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.

Angela – ☆☆☆☆☆

Just call her the Queen of Denial.

After working for Chris for 3 years, Lucy had no idea that he was attracted to her nor did she allow herself to entertain any thoughts beyond the employer-employee relationship with him. This wasn't actually surprising as he had shown her he could be a major PITA and had a string of short-term relationships. So when she is close to realizing her personal dream and gives her notice, she finds herself dealing with a change in their relationship that she never saw coming and the gloves come off.

Needless to say, I freaking loved this book. The interactions between Chris and Lucy are hilarious. Both have strong personalities and while Lucy might be his assistant, she doesn't hesitate to put him in his place. This makes for a very entertaining read and some serious sexual tension. And Ms. Wood does not disappoint when these two finally get together. What is it about a man in a suit that makes the sex that much hotter? Whew!

In Love With Lucy is a quick read that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I cannot wait until the next book in the Not Safe For Work series is released.

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆

OH EM GEE... Chris Barden is the boss everyone dreams about -- except the woman that works for him. Lucy doesn't have time to deal with his crap or anyone else's. She's focused on doing her job as his assistant and of following her dream of being a professional photographer.

After three years of being his personal assistant, she has no idea that the man even likes her much less sees her in something other than a professional light. When she realizes that Chris does in fact notice her and for more than her typing skills, Lucy figuratively runs for the hills.

Even her friends are on "his" side... what's a girl to do? Should she go with the flow and be his booty call? What happens if he wants more? Can she have a relationship and a career?

Read the book to find out how a smart-ass assistant and hard-nosed boss (according to Lucy) make their way along the bumpy path of love.

Fast forward 3 years, Lucy’s dreams are about to come true and then Christopher James Barden the Third comes to her show and everything changes after that. Three years of pent up attraction comes out and takes you on an entertaining ride with Chris and Lucy.

This quick, sexy read is just perfect for an evening's entertainment. It is well written, fun and turns the tables for a change. I liked Lucy's friends, and hope that we meet them again - there were a few hints along the way!
