Jesse
Ward has stumbled through life drinking and indulging himself within the rooms
of his high-class sex club, The Manor, numbing himself to the pain, grief, and
guilt of his wrongs. Pleasure and alcohol are his medicine. Hedonism is all he
knows.
It’s how he copes.
How he survives.
Until Ava O’Shea strolls into his office and knocks him back with her
breathtaking beauty, ambition, and drive. It only takes one look into her eyes,
one touch of her skin, and one word murmured, before his heart is kick-started,
offering him something he never thought possible. A distraction from his daily
torment. A semblance of peace.
Women never reject Jesse Ward. They fall at his feet, melt from his
charismatic, devious smile, and obey his every salacious command. All except
the one woman who unwittingly becomes his obsession and the only thing that can
keep him from the brink of self-destruction.
He needs Ava and will do anything to have her.
Even hide every last skeleton in his large closet.
Because the truth could destroy them both.

I have always wanted Jesse's point of view; even when the author would give us
little snippets, I always wanted more. Well, it took ten years, but it was
worth the wait.
If you have read the series, This Man, you know that Jesse has demons he has
been fighting for years, and owning the Manor wasn't helping him heal from his
past. When Ava walks into his office, Jesse takes one look at her and has this
strange feeling, it is his heart starting to beat.
In the original series, you got the feel of Jesse's past but with this book,
you get it from him and can feel his pain and despair. I still want to beat
Sarah around the head, the meddling witch.
This story is filled with sizzling tension, a painful past, heartbreak,
longing, lust, love, and two people who belong together, even if they go about
it a little differently. Jesse needs to learn to communicate with his words
more so Ava can accept him more. It is the only way that a relationship can
work for them. I loved this book and cannot wait for more.

This is Jesse's point of view. You can read this book without having read the
first This Man series of books, BUT, you'd be missing out. I would recommend
reading the other series first and then moving to This Woman. I feel
that the story and background will make a lot more sense.
Jesse is flawed. He knows it and his friends know it. Jesse doesn't believe
there is anything he can do about it. But, when he sees HER, he's enamored and
can't help himself.
Ava is kind of clueless. She is great at her job, but not so smart when it
comes to demanding, overbearing Jesse. She's not quite sure how to handle what
she feels when she's around him.
These two have to navigate the pitfalls of starting a relationship on less than
even footing.
You'll hate Jesse at times and want to yell at him to figure it out, but in the
end, Jesse is who he is, and he will fight all of his demons for Ava.
