'Tis
the season for a Bromance Book Club matchmaking mission! This time, they're
pulling out the mistletoe for everyone's favorite country music star, Colton,
and his second chance at love.
Country music’s golden boy Colton Wheeler felt the most perfect harmony when he
was with Gretchen Winthrop. But for her, it was a love him and leave him
situation. A year later, Colton is struggling to push his music forward in a
new direction. If it weren’t about to be the most magical time of year and the
support of the Bromance Book Club, he’d be wallowing in self-pity.
It’s hard for immigration attorney Gretchen not to feel a little Scrooge-ish
about the excess of Christmas when her clients are scrambling to afford their
rent. So when her estranged, wealthy family reaches out with an offer that will
allow her to better serve the community, she’s unable to say no. She just needs
to convince Colton to be the new face of her family’s whiskey brand. No big deal…
Colton agrees to consider Gretchen’s offer in exchange for three dates before
Christmas. With the help of the Bromance Book Club, Colton throws himself into
the task of proving to her there’s a spark between them. But Gretchen and
Colton will both need to overcome the ghosts of Christmas past to build a
future together.

This is the fifth book in the series – and I really would recommend that you
read them all, and ideally in order, although each one deals with another
member of the book club finding his happily ever after. Colton has been the
most elusive to date, so it is great to see him get his chance too.
Gretchen and Colton have one perfect night – before she runs away, not wanting
to taint him with the disfunction of her family. He is unable to put her out of
his mind, and the Bromance Book Club gang finally step up to get them the happily
ever after they deserve.
Watching Gretchen see what she so desperately would love from a family, and
seeing Colton realise just how horribly her family treat her – the whole thing
is nearly derailed by the sympathy/pity angle – but then the gang remind him of
the romance of a big gesture... and we all get the outcome that we really
wanted all along.
Really enjoyable read, and great to catch up with all the previous couples and
their families.

M/F Romance
Colton is living life the best way that he knows how. With his good friends by
his side and his family being taken care of. When he is blindsided by his
producing company, Colton isn't sure how he's going to get back to making music
that he's passionate about and that is also something that his company likes.
Gretchen is trying to make the world a better place for those less fortunate.
She works like a dog day and night to help those around her. But with her
family, she knows that they will always be the way they are. With the exception
of her Uncle Jack, nobody in Gretchen's family cares about her. She has known
it for almost her whole life.
When Gretchen and Colton first meet, it's just one night. But Colton can't
forget Gretchen. When they meet again, Gretchen is now tasked with helping
Colton want to be the new face of her family's business.
As Gretchen and Colton get to know each other – faults and all – both will have
to decide if happiness can outweigh responsibility to family and job.
This is a love story that is made from the manuals that Colton and his friends
read. It's fun at times, serious during others, and has a love that you know
will last forever.
