This is book two in the series and it is filled with deceit, lies, and Braden and Reagan are fighting for their lives and their love.

I loved the first book and was looking forward to this one but there was something missing. I cannot figure out what it was. This story was filled with suspense as the first one was and had the steam as the first but I am not sure what is off, maybe it was the way Reagan kept pushing Braden away when she knew she wanted him. I did enjoy the story and can't wait for more in this series.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second in the series, following the children of the Gloves Off series romances! I would suggest that you really need to read the first book to be able to fully appreciate the mess that these guys and girls have got themselves in with the fighting underworld.

In this installment we get Reagan and Braden's story – friends since babies, they have been choosing to keep their romantic feelings hidden away, for fear that a breakup would really spoil things. Working out together and being successful in the MMA world will have to be enough. Then Reagan gets a training offer she cannot refuse, but which is a huge set up... Nikolai is not going to be thwarted again in his plans to control the Next Generation.

Be ready for some dirty tactics, some worrying developments, and some noooo moments – why do people think it best to deal with things themselves... resulting in much more chaos in their wake? Well thankfully Braden steps up, Reagan acknowledges her feelings. and we can but hope that things improve for them, even if the whole group remain in a degree of danger.

I loved their mums’ happiness – but their views would have been dented by the news of the mess that is shadowing the romance.

The guys still unaffected are all too aware that their turn is coming – I am keen to read on!

Taking the Fight is the second installment in the Gloves Off – Next Generation series. I don't feel that this one can be read as a standalone and should be read in the order that the author intended.

I loved the premise of this one, but I didn't quite feel the connection to Reagan and Braden that I wanted in order to connect to the story.

Reagan is the featherweight belt holder and with promises of big things, she's drawn to the underground fighting life. She thinks she's hiding what she's doing from her family and friends – well, everyone but Braden. They need to fight together to keep themselves safe and stop fighting the attraction between them. The steam was extra steamy with these two. But it still wasn't enough for me to fall in to this one. I really wanted to love it, but I just didn't.
