This is the first in a new series, yet readers of the excellent Fog City series will already know, and possibly love, Marsh, and want all that is good for him.

He takes a slightly odd first turn to make that happen, with all good intentions, but also seriously flawed ones – and spends the rest of the book sorting out how he went wrong, and how perfect the real version of their reality could be. I did, however, find his actions fully in line with his character. A man who really did not think himself worthy, given the childhood he had, and so could only imagine Levi would marry him for his money, his skills, and his ability to solve the case. Had he valued himself more, and had Levi been in a better emotional state, it still could have taken years for them to wake up and enjoy their connection. So this was unusual, but for me worked.

Levi was a fascinating mix of extremely competent, but seriously damaged – which meant that travelling along with him as he sought to put his life back together and solve a pressing, complex, and time-consuming case was intense.

Even if we know that things are going to work out somehow, the road had plenty of landmines... and we are left needing book two with a significant degree of urgency!

Veronica☆☆☆☆
Stories about fake marriages or marriages of convenience are on trend right now and I’m not the biggest fan of them. But with Dead Draw, it works well. FBI agent Levi is grieving the death of his wife, raising a teenage son, and is drowning in debt. When Marsh offers a marriage of convenience so they can work on their associated cases for the FBI, with the sweetener of paying off Levi’s debt, it is a no brainer.

Even though it is clear from the beginning that Marsh and Levi feel a mutual attraction, the romance is a lovely slow burn. Their attraction grows as they work together to uncover a human trafficking ring. I enjoyed following the investigation, chasing down leads, and the danger that results. It really kept the story moving at a swift pace, adding to the excitement.

But before I knew it, the book was coming to a close. I felt like I was just getting to know Levi and Marsh and there had not been near enough romance for me. Plus, there were unanswered questions about their investigation. I wanted more. Thankfully, Dead Draw is just the beginning of Marsh and Levi’s story and there is more to come. Dead Draw was an exciting start to this new series, and I eagerly await the next installment.

A sexy, passionate, utterly addictive, roomies-to-lovers MM romance from #1 New York Times bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Look, when I met the sexy, witty Brit on the streets of London last night, I had no idea who he was. He was just that hot guy I wanted to have a drink with so I asked him out for my first evening in town.

One thing almost led to another. After a midnight kiss, we made plans for a whole lot more the next day.

But when I unlock the door to my rental in the morning, the English hottie is lounging on the couch like he lives here too. Great. For the next year I’ll be sharing a tiny flat with the sexiest guy I’ve ever known.

Time for a few simple rules – don’t walk around the flat wearing only a towel, don’t spend our nights together exploring London, and don’t crack open my secrets for him.

Even as I smash all those rules, I try to resist falling for the cocky charmer. But after a taste of his lips, I give all the way in, telling myself one night and we won’t fall in love.

Too bad in the morning I discover that hiding my true feelings is the least of my worries, compared to a twist I never see coming.

Contents Include: One broody American, one charming Brit, and two libidos that can barely fit into the smallest flat in London. Translation – hot, angsty nights in the first novel in a scorching and emotional two-book epic MM romance!

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the first book of a duet, and so you'll need to be a little patient... but I can assure you it will be nothing on what TJ and Jude have to wait for!

Two young men, early in their careers, meet momentarily and feel a connection... then find that they are roommates, so dare not start something which could get complicated. Already we are persuaded to somehow get over the fact that they have just met and are already investing in what could have been – I think that was very clever plotting. Fate splits them up... but we have to believe that their decision to meet up again once they are successful.

Jump forward and we meet them again – clearly they have done well in their chosen professions, but have they made it enough to reconnect, and is there still the spark that they remember from all that time ago for a few short days in London.

I think after reading this, there will be many people who find themselves looking back and wondering what has happened to the one who slipped away! At least for TJ and Jude we will be able to find out just what happens – but in the next installment!

Mary☆☆☆☆
TJ has been sent to London for a year for his job and on the first day, he meets Jude, the cute guy he wants to go out with. When he finds out that Jude is his roommate, is it fate they are thrown together? Do they break the roommate rule or stay friends? They are great friends. The banter, fun, shopping trips, and living arrangement are all great.

Neither was looking for anything long-term in a relationship but seems that both wanted more from the other.

After just a few weeks, TJ is sent back to New York with a promotion, leaving Jude. Neither telling the other how they are really feeling. So seven years go by with no contact, no calls or texts, nothing. Both have thought about the other but no contact. How is the meeting going to go?

I really liked this story. I didn't like that TJ wasn't as open at telling Jude his true feeling and he seemed to push him away. And Jude was holding back some too. But if they told their true feelings then the story would have ended in a few chapters and that would have been so sad. TJ and Jude needed their story told and the author has done a great job at that. I can't wait to read the rest of it in book two.

Shannan☆☆☆☆
Hopelessly Bromantic is the first book in the Hopelessly Bromantic duet.

When TJ finds out he's moving to London for a year for his job. He's excited to meet all the men he can, and it almost seems like fate when he sees Jude for the first time one day on the street and again in his favorite book shop. They have an amazing date and plan more until they realize that they are going to be roommates. Not wanting to complicate things, they agree to keep it platonic until one kiss changes everything. And again, fate pulls them apart, but they make a "what if" agreement.

They do, in fact, end up following through with that what if agreement and meet again years later, both successful in their chosen careers. With nothing standing in their way, can they make what was between them in London all those years ago work this time? But will a misunderstanding ruin everything they've wanted?

Hopelessly Bromantic is a rollercoaster of emotion. You are pulling for these guys through every page, almost wanting to yell, "Just tell him how you feel!" But Lauren Blakely weaves her brilliance throughout this romance, breaking your heart for them in their what could have been. I can't wait to see how she puts it all back together.

Release Blitz. Blake Allwood’s Melody of the Heart.

Entrapped by his ex, life feels hopeless. Now, he has to teach a mechanic to play piano like a pro. As he fights to save his father’s beloved Steinway, he never dreamed he might also save his heart.

No one could expect Jonas to survive the humiliation of messing up his piano solo, even if he was dumped right before his performance. Now, his need for cash has ensnared him with a challenge to teach a mechanic how to play classically. But, no matter how sexy the guy might be, or how much Jonas might want to make it happen, there’s no way he can teach a man with grease under his nails to compete against the world’s best piano players!

Orlando wants no part of the piano competition when the sexy musician storms into his shop demanding he learn to play classical music. Unfortunately, always a sucker for a man in distress, he finds saying no impossible.

As Jonas and Orlando become engrossed in new styles of music, their hearts soar with the melodies they create together. The question is, will either of them survive the loss when this relationship inevitably comes to an end?

In this opposites attract, hurt/comfort contemporary romance, Orlando and Jonas must accomplish the impossible, before both lose everything they’ve ever worked for.

Excerpt

“I’m sorry, sir, but she’s already decided. The conversation is over.”

I walked into the shop to see my six-foot-three broad-shouldered best friend, who was usually a teddy bear, directing a frustrated gaze at a much shorter, much-less built, blond man with wire-rimmed glasses. The guy was attractive, despite the agitated look on his increasingly red face that was angled up at my friend.

“Um, what’s going on?” I asked Ray.

“This man is from the contest we entered. He’s saying it’s too late to back out now that Ella’s been selected.”

“The ball is already in motion. We can’t change direction now,” the man said, and from the way he was wringing his hands together, he appeared to be on the verge of some sort of breakdown. I could sympathize, but this was ultimately Ella’s decision, and we had to support it.

“Sir, I’m sorry, but the girl isn’t interested. I’m her teacher, and I know she’s not going to pursue piano any further. You’re wasting your time.”

The man visibly deflated in front of me, and I fought an inexplicable urge to wrap a supportive arm around his shoulders. “You’re her teacher?” he asked.

I nodded and he hesitated a moment, like he was making mental calculations, then asked, “How well do you play?”

I was taken aback by his question, and the suddenly hopeful glint I saw in his beautiful eyes. “Me? How well do I play?” He nodded and waited for me to continue. “I’m fair, but not great. Why does that matter?”

“Because, the board has given me the option of enrolling you into the program if Miss Frankford doesn’t agree to the offer.” His expression was serious.

“You’re kidding. I’m a mechanic.” I laughed so hard I thought my sides would split. It had to be a joke, right?

Ray’s eyes lit up, and he came over to where I stood as my laughter gave way to shock. “This is totally your guy. He’s been a protoget since he was a kid.”

“Prodigy,” I corrected. “I’m not a prodigy. I’m barely literate in music. I know almost every blues song ever played, and do okay with “Stairway to Heaven” on the piano, but I’m certainly not an ideal student for your fancy lessons. I’m sorry.”

I turned to leave when I felt the man’s surprisingly strong grip clamp down on my elbow. “You don’t understand. I’ve invested everything into this. If it doesn’t work, I’m ruined.” He sounded slightly panicked.

I looked down at the man’s perfectly manicured hands as I pried his fingers from my elbow, but didn’t let go. “Look,” I said, holding my own hand next to his, palm up. “Take a nice long look. Your fingers are long, delicate, and soft. I’m sure you’ve never done a hard day’s work in your life. Mine… they’re scarred, and stained with oil that’ll likely never come off, even if I stopped working on cars today. I have calluses thicker than leather hide. Trust me, mister, I’m not your guy.”

I released his hand and walked away without looking back. I was sure as I closed the door to my office that this was all a farce Ray had drummed up to give me shit about later. Things were beginning to make a lot more sense, now I thought about it that way.

Ella, winning some elite contest when she barely played. I mean, she played well enough for an eight-year-old, but there were certainly a lot of kids her age who played better, and were more committed.

The clincher was me taking her place. What the holy hell? I wondered if maybe there’d been a hidden camera somewhere, especially considering how angry Ray had been. That had to be an act, right?

I opened my office door, ready for the camera reveal, but Ray was back under the hood of Mr. Johnson’s Chrysler, and the stranger was nowhere to be seen.

“So, what’s the gig? I mean, no cameras?”

Ray chuckled. “Hey, it’s all legit. Crazy, but legit.”

“I don’t buy it, Ray. There’s got to be some sort of angle here.”

“Nope, I checked the dude out before we entered the contest. He’s an award-winning pianoist from New York and everything.”

“It’s pianist, there’s no o in it. So, why would he make up shit about me being his student for a year?”

“Don’t know, but he was pretty adamant. Even after you left, he tried to get me to talk you into it. Said he was going to lose his pants if you didn’t.”

“He said he was gonna lose his pants?” I asked, quashing a highly inappropriate mental image of the attractive man not wearing pants.

Ray laughed. “Not in so many words, but that was the gist of it.”

“You don’t think this is some sort of scam?”

“Maybe, but his bags were with him, so if it is, the man is full-out committed.”

“Damn you, Ray, this is all your and Angela’s doing. Let me go find him, and see if I can’t get to the fucking bottom of it. God, I hate you sometimes.” Part of me wanted to just let it go, but I remembered the look on the man’s face, and the panic in his voice. I was drawn to him enough to want to put things right.

“You do not. You’ve a right to be pissed, but you adore me, and you know it. Besides, you owe me after…”

“Don’t go there. I know I do, but after this shit, we’re even, got it?”

Ray winked at me and gave me a thumbs-up as he disappeared back under the hood. Not that I’d ever really be even with Ray and Angela for all they’d done to literally keep my ass off the streets.

One main street ran through our town, and there weren’t many places he could go on foot, so it only took a few minutes for me to find him sitting in Libby’s Park, next to the river. He was looking out over the rapids. His glazed expression told me he was staring, but not really seeing them.

“So—” I said, startling him. “—what’s the real story, and don’t try to bullshit me? I know how to recognize bullshit a mile away.”

He shook his head and sighed deeply, the look on his face all but resigned to defeat. “It’s just what I said. The contest requires me to teach someone for a year. We selected Miss Frankford, and she’s declined, so it’s my neck on the line to get chopped.”

“And, tell me again, what that has to do with me?” I asked.

The man sighed again, this time almost making me laugh at how dramatic he was. “That’s more a dig at me. My former boss, well, he was my ex as well as my boss. He threw you into the mix as a way to embarrass me. I shouldn’t have brought it up, but I got a little desperate in there.”

“So, your former boss was also your lover?” I asked, intrigued, not only by the story, but by the admission, intended or not, that he was gay.

“Yeah. Oh wait, you aren’t a homophobe, are you? Because, that would be excellent. Getting my ass kicked would just be the cherry on top of this shit pie.” He sounded more resigned than apprehensive at the possibility I’d take issue with his sexuality. My smiling at him likely helped ease any uncertainty.

“No, I’m gay. But, isn’t that like sexual harassment, or something?”

His chuckle was bitter. “Yeah, and I’ve already talked to my attorney. I’ll probably win in court, but it’s going to destroy my fucking career. No one will ever hire me to perform again.”

“Yeah, that sucks, but you’ll win, that’s something.”

He shrugged. “Well, I might as well go face the music. I’m sorry for the insane morning, Mr…”

“You can call me Orli. Everyone around here does.”

“Well, Orli, I wish I could say it’s been a pleasure.”

He stood to go, and before I knew what I was doing, I asked, “So, what is it they want me to play?”

The man slowly turned around. “Have you ever heard of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 29 in B-flat Major?

I shook my head.

“What about La Campanella by Liszt?”

I shook my head again.

“The Oriental fantasy Islamey by Mily Balakirev?”

“No, sorry, I don’t know much classical.”

He chuckled mirthlessly. “They’re some of the most difficult pieces ever written. They gave me one year to teach Ella—and in her absence, you—how to play these technically impossible pieces well enough to qualify to play in Salzburg, Austria.”

“So, it really is a vengeance quest against you then?”

He appeared shocked by my being so forthright, but slowly nodded. “There’s a lot to it, but yes, I suppose it is exactly that.”

“Can you really teach me?” I asked, fully regretting the decision I’d already made internally.

“Can you play?” he asked.

I laughed. “I was taught by my great-grandmother who played in honky-tonks, but I’m not horrible.”

The man looked torn between hope and resignation. “Do you have a piano, so I can hear you play?”

I nodded and remembered the three cars I’d agreed to have done by the weekend. Oh well, I thought, Ray might get to work some overtime, since this was his damned fault anyway.

“Where’s your car?” I asked.

He shrugged. “I’m from New York. I don’t have a car. I rode the train to Martinsburg, and had an Uber drop me off here.”

“Well, you’re going to need a car if you’re here for long, ’cause we only have one Uber, and Sally only works when she needs money to buy yarn to pay for her knitting obsession.”

“Let’s hear you play before we commit to anything,” he said, and followed me back to the shop.

When I looked up, I saw longing in his eyes that matched my own. Without thinking it through, I lifted up onto my toes and kissed him.

This is a low-angst, second-chance romance set in a small town. Jonas and Orlando have both gone through some stuff – they've been burned before and finally. they both get their happy ending together. If you like small-town, second-chance romances, this book is for you. I loved Jonas and Orlando; and when everything is said and done, and Jonas's ex gets what's coming to him, you can't help but smile. Sweet love story.

Jonas’s life is entwined with a mechanic he must train to compete in a prestigious piano competition. Will he succeed or will he lose his career and the man he’s fallen in love with?

This one started out with a bang – or a win – and didn't stop there. Carter is the MMA champion again and loving life, the only thing missing is the one that got away. Now he is back home and so is she.

While Emma has a career of her own as a model, the world of MMA is familiar to her and she knows how to fight.

When Emma gets a note in her mailbox, it scares her back home. Back to the circle of family, cousins, friends, and lost love. She doesn't want her parents or uncle to know what is going on and thinks they can handle whatever and whoever sent the note.

This story is filled with suspense, drama, family, love, pain, and a feeling that family is there when you need them. This one starts out with a bang and doesn't let go until the end. I can't wait for the next one.

Shannan☆☆☆☆
Craving the Fight is the first book in the Gloves Off – Next Generation series. It is a spin-off from the author's Gloves Off series. It can be read as a standalone without reading the prior series, but it does make more sense if you have read the Gloves Off series first.

When Emma gets a threatening letter in the mail referencing her parents’ past, she knows she needs to go home and let her brothers know. It seems as if that past is coming for revenge. Emma wants to keep the letter from her parents and figure it out on her own. She tries to avoid Carter, her ex, at all costs. They were torn apart by fame but never lost the feelings they had for one another. When Carter finds out about the letter, he will do whatever he needs to to protect Emma. Carter Reynolds was born to be a fighter. It's in his blood, his dad was a famous MMA fighter. It's all he knows how to do and if that means fighting in the underground to protect Emma, that's what he does.

Carter and Emma's chemistry is explosive and undeniable. Craving the Fight is full of suspense. I loved getting to see past characters and learning who their children are. The friendship and protective nature of the group is unmatched.

I'm excited and can't wait to see where this series goes considering Gloves Off was one of my favorite MMA series!

Mary Jo☆☆☆☆
It was a good book full of non-stop action and a second-chance romance.

Emma moved to New York City to model and to get away from Carter Reynolds. She knew that if she stayed in California, she would have given in and done anything to be with Carter. Carter knew that Emma was the girl for him from the time he was in his teens but knew that he had to let her go, to fly, and one day, hopefully, they would reconnect.

What he didn't expect was a nightmare from the past would haunt them both and take them down a terrible path.

The only thing that they have going for them is the fact that they love each other and they can only hope that it's enough to save their souls.

As hidden truths are revealed, Carter and Emma find that no one in their circle is safe… and this is only the beginning.

Strictly Business by Ruth Cardello

Available Now! Strictly Business by Ruth Cardello.

Lies and attraction abound when a savvy businessman posing as his twin and an oil baron’s niece battle over a family farm in this steamy romance from New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello.

I just found out I have an identical twin. Wasn’t looking for one. Would have preferred to not have one, but here we are. We have nothing in common. I was adopted by a successful businessman who raised me to see life as a game and gave me the skills to win it. Him? He is about to lose his family’s farm. You heard me—farm.

Lucky for him, I’m a firm believer that when it comes to family, no one goes to battle alone. I’m in. I’ve switched lives with him and will use every business trick I know to save his farm.

However, my initial plan did not take into account a drop-dead gorgeous oil rep or the secrets I uncover about my brother. And worst of all, I’m starting to like the farm and all its inhabitants. I can’t stop thinking about that oil rep. This will definitely take longer to resolve than anticipated.

I have become a fan of this author and look forward to each new book. I liked this one; newfound twin brothers, now switch lives so the businessman can help the farmer. You think it will be a simple task, but the woman thrown into the mix is going to steal Jesse's heart.

Jesse has to figure out why someone wants Scott's farm so bad. He also has to learn to be a farmer and take care of the animals. What was supposed to be for a day or two, turns out to be longer because Jesse has found that farm life is growing on him and so is Crystal.

Crystal was sent to Scott's farm to deliver a new proposal for the farm, that is all she had to do. When seeing the man, something inside stirs. She has never had these feelings before.

What happens when Crystal learns who she thinks is Scott? What will Jesse do when he learns what Crystal is sent to do? Can Scott tell him the truth about the farm?

I liked this story a lot and can't wait for Scott's story. This one is filled with banter, fun, crazy farm animals, suspense, lost family, and finding love. Another great start to a series worth reading.

This is the first book in a new series – and I am definitely looking forward to the next installment already!

The fun premise is that identical twins adopted at birth by very different parents have rediscovered each other. One has taken over the farm from his now retired and travelling parents, and the other is a hugely successful and ruthless businessman. The latter decides to save the former from losing the farm due to an oil company wanting to buy it. Little could we expect what transpires – it is fun, sexy, and has a rather lovely world-saving opportunity thrown in!

Crystal has been brought up by her wealthy uncle and had the opportunities to study and travel the world thanks to his generosity. So when he asks her to deliver some contract papers to a farmer he wants to buy out, she really doesn't think of declining. Meeting Jesse – who is posing as his brother – gives her an unexpected jolt of lust and desire. The fact that he doesn't seem very competent in the farm he is running is odd, but endearing.

The underlying plot is definitely a little out there. The warnings about not letting her in the house really have the reader wondering what could be going on, but in time we get the answers, the resolution of the business issues, and the consolidating of a relationship, we are invested enough to be happy at the outcome. There is some fabulous humour created due to the differences between the two of them, and yet they find the common ground too.

Fun, passionate, farm-drama-based romance.

Wicked Flame by Ella Frank Blog Tour

Available Now. Wicked Flame. Ella Frank. USA Today Bestselling Author. Blog Tour. May 25th - 27th.

JAMESON

Life is hard. I learned that at an early age growing up on the South Side of Chicago. I accepted it, even came to expect it. With a sister who was a constant source of worry, and a track record of losing anyone even remotely close to me, trouble seemed to follow me no matter where I turned.

Some people were born lucky. I was just born.

That’s what I used to believe, anyway, until GQ. The gorgeous guy in the fancy clothes who for some reason decided to look twice at me. He gave me a place to call my own, a space to feel safe, and he made me believe in the impossible—that love was more than just a four-letter word.

RYAN

Life is unexpected. I learned that just recently when I walked into a bar on the South Side and found the love of my life—Jameson Clarke.

He’s everything I’ve always wanted, and yet somehow even better than I imagined. He’s brave, brash, protective of those he loves, and under all that bravado is a vulnerability that calls to my very soul.

Jameson’s a storm cloud, but he thinks I’m the sun. If that’s true, then I’m determined to break through the shadows of his past and steal his heart the way he’s stolen mine.

Wicked Flame is book two in Ryan Carrigan & Jameson Clarke's story and should be read after Wicked Heat.

Wicked Flame is the second part of Ryan and Jameson’s duet in the Chicago Heat series. You cannot read this as a standalone. It must be read after Wicked Heat to get the full effect of the storyline. Wicked Flame picks up right where Wicked Heat left us.

Jameson is looking after his sister after finding her beaten and bruised and Ryan is right there beside him. Ryan knows he's in this for the long haul and is patient with Jameson to come to the same conclusion. When Jameson finds a reminder of the worst day of his life, Ryan is there to pick up the pieces when Jameson shatters, telling him the details of the fire that took his best friend and brother and finds a way to honor him.

I loved seeing Jameson realizing he is capable of loving and of being loved. The patience Ryan shows Jameson while he works it out is heartwarming. Their chemistry is as explosive as ever. And as always, I loved getting a peek at past characters sharing the same world, especially Alexander, Sean, Marcus, and Gabe. It honestly was the perfect conclusion for Ryan and Jameson!

I can't wait to see what's coming next!!

This is the second book in the series, and you most definitely need to read them in order. In fact, I would recommend that you start with Try and read the whole Chicago family of books, which are just the hottest, cutest, and most fun ever!

We left Jameson and Ryan (yes, that cliffhanger was not kind!) at an event, where Jameson felt very uncomfortable at the charity being supported, and then has to dash off to try and rescue his sister... again. It came at a pivotal moment, they finally can see a way forward – until Jameson really can't all over again.

Given Ella Frank's habit of ramping up the tension when it comes to reaching a happily ever after, there are plenty of events and incidents which make one's heart constrict in worry, but you can trust we will get there in the end.

I loved the catch-ups with Ryan's best buddy Gabe and his beau, Marcus, as well as Sean and Ryan's boss, Alexander. This interconnected group of men form such a supportive, honest band of friends; it is always fun being in their company – even when they are replaying quotes to the person having doubts! Add in Ryan's family and their ability to draw in the very much insular Jameson, and one cannot help but smile in happiness for them both

Absolutely delicious addition to the series, thank you. Ella Frank!

This is the second book in the duet and you must read the first book in order to follow along. Honestly, I recommend you read all of the author’s books – they are amazeballs.

This book picks right up where the first left off. This book was just a lovefest, and I was there for every moment. I love Jameson and Ryan; they got the happily ever after they deserved and I'm so glad. The next two books in the series are also duets and I can't wait!

“I don’t know how I can ever repay you.” “Just love me. That’s all the payment I need.”
