This is a sweet story about unconditional love, healing love, and finding a center that will allow goodness back in to a life.

Aaron is unsure what to think when his boyfriend, Spencer, suddenly becomes a guardian to his niece, Sophie. She's young, sad, and missing her mom, and Spencer is doing all that he can to ensure that she has a smooth transition.

Aaron feels that he's losing Spencer to someone who he knows is helpless, but with his own anxiety, he can't help but feel he's being replaced.

This is a story about Spencer and Aaron finding a balance that will allow them to continue to develop their own relationship, but with the added pressure of being dads too. Aaron has a lot of soul searching to do – can he really let someone else in?

I enjoyed this story despite it being, what I felt, was a lot of Aaron whining and crying about Spencer's non-choice. I thought that I got to see Spencer grow up a lot in this story.

Overall, this was a sweet ending to this series.

Anthony and Brendan are a strange couple. Anthony went looking to escape his home life. He felt that he had been lost and not wanted for so long after his brother's ordeal that he escaped in to drugs and alcohol. When push came to shove and people he thought were his friends also turned on him, Anthony sought out comfort from a friend he met online while gaming.

While he's trying to find himself, he winds up in an even bigger pickle than he started. However, thanks to a good Samaritan, he also finds a new friend out of the situation.

Brendan has had a difficult trauma. He is now more agoraphobic than anything, but he needs to have some semblance of control of the outside world, so he lives his life through surveillance cameras. He is surly, mean, and just down right ungrateful, in my opinion. His brother, Patrick was amazing in this story. Patrick dropped everything for his brother and yet, his brother does not appreciate any of what Patrick had to give up.

I think this story was well written, but Anthony ended up in a similar situation as his home life. However, I did like that Anthony was able to stand up for himself and voice to his family how he was feeling. I would have liked more of a resolution about that situation. I felt that they didn't really address it.

So I had a difficult time with this story because despite its name, Spencer, I felt that this was more about Aaron. Yes, Spencer was in this story and we got to see how he handles living on his own, going to work, and keeping his relationship alive, but ultimately, this was more about Aaron's ability to cope.

While Spencer is out working and living further away, Aaron has to cope with the fact that his past has come home and is now expecting things of him. We get to see how Spencer is able to cope with being far away when he believes that Aaron needs him. However, it's a very limited look at how Spencer copes because he is always coming home.

You also see his brothers and their struggles in this story. And while this is supposed to be about the relationship between Spencer and Aaron, I felt that we saw more between Aaron and his new friend.

Overall, it was a powerful story about surviving. However, I just didn't think that it was about Spencer.

Ben is struggling after the murder of his sister. He sees his dom, Kage, in order to make the nightmares about his sister disappear. Ben is barely surviving and he is too afraid to tell his best friend, Jude, about his struggles.

Jude is just hopeful that Ben will look at him in a way that gives their relationship room to grow. They had one night where they went further, but then Ben shut the door on that type of relationship again.

Ben and Jude struggle through their friendship to find more. Ben is constantly trying to fight the nightmares and Jude just wants his friend to not be sad any more. It's a battle between them. Ben is very manipulative of Jude and I didn't really like the dynamic between the two of them. I found that Ben's constant need was almost in a whiny manner and that he wasn't truly invested in a relationship with Jude so much as he was invested in finding someone who can take away the bad dreams.

Overall, this was a slight disappointment because it felt forced.

Aaron has lived through a trauma that most cannot even comprehend. This story is gritty, full of sorrow, hope, and ultimately, it's about exactly what the title suggests: Survival.

Aaron never truly "gets better," but he learns to cope. He wants to be better and constantly worries about being a burden on his family. He knows that he needs to "be better," but he simply can't figure out how to do that and his doctors are simply medicating the issue.

Then you have Spencer. He is deaf and knows that sometimes, listening and observing is the best method. When he figures out that Aaron is in need of a friend, he doesn't hesitate. He knows that sometimes being lonely is worse – because he is also somewhat lonely.

What begins as a forced partnership blossoms into a friendship and an exercise in trust and love. I liked watching Aaron and Spencer figure out their relationship. I also LOVED watching Aaron work through some of this trauma.

Despite Aaron's parents being somewhat annoying, I really enjoyed his brothers. Their relationship was very true and honest. It's hard and real, but it tells a fantastic story.
